As a side note, I'd love to see a future video from you and Jack that talks about "what I learned in film school"! It kind of depends on the trip and how much I want to prioritize filming! If it’s a short trip, I’ll just bring the osmo in my purse. But if I bring more gear, I’ll bring a small camera bag like the one I’m using in this video or I’ll bring a bigger bag that fits my camera gear 🥲

      I would personally go with the DJI pocket 3! I find having the handle+gimbal easier to vlog with. The insta 360 GO 3s will be a better choice if you're planning to primarily focus on activities like hiking, running, cycling, water sports, etc. since you can go hand free with the GO 3s.

    Do you add anything in post on your DJI pocket 3? If so can you speak more on that or make an entire video on it?

    How much space (GB, TB) do you normally allocate say for like a week overseas? Currently shoot SOOC but wondering what the bump up in file sizes would be if you were to shoot everything in LOG.

    • @wegofilm
      @wegofilm  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hmm it depends on how much you shoot but I just checked my travel folder for reference and for Lombok (2 weeks, sony a7siii, dji osmo) it was 202 GB, New Zealand North Island (1 week, sony a7siii, 118 GB), South Island (1 week, sony a7siii, 134 GB). I shoot everything in log, I film little snippets throughout my travel and usually don't film super long talking segments which can take up more space. I usually bring two Sandisk SSD 1TB to back up the footage on two drives (I also sometimes bring some work edits with me as well, which is why I bring two). Hope this helps!

      @@wegofilm Thanks for the reply :) Wow for a week that's actually pretty good.
      What format do you shoot in to get the best compression (i.e. smallest size) without sacrificing quality?
      (e.g. I currently shoot 4k 100mbps, 8 bit h264 mp4)

      @@Rukawasendoh117 Yes of course! My settings for my a7siii is currently -- XAVC HS 4k, 100M 4:2:2 10bit

    How did you choose to spend the extra money on the Sony A7S3? I can't bring myself to justify spending than I need for a full frame. I was looking into the A7Cii which is already still expensive. Your account isn't huge, do you make any kind of money off your vlogs or is it just something youre passionate about.?

      @@Murmurrr I’m a professional wedding videographer so we already had the a7siii for our wedding work! I started vlogging during Covid because we weren’t able to film any weddings :) RUclips is more of a passion project for me at the moment.
