@@laloajuria4678 looking at the competition they start in this area more or less, Ioniq6, BMWi4, I would not count the M3 which is category lower but very competitive with the new pricing drop.
Reviews of the ID7 in Europe where they have been able to drive the unit have been very positive. Specially Bjorn who got to drive it in Germany in the Autobahn. I think price will in the end determine if it is a winner.
It definitely won't sell like hotcakes as it won't be cheap. America is bleeding good paying jobs, and the average Joe is struggling to pay rent and food. The super wealthy will be lambos and Bugattis.
Couple things. 1) vw is one of the worlds most unassuming car companies. Some say Tesla is a tech company that makes cars but VW is the car company that makes cars. For the people. Granted they lag behind Tesla in technology for obvious reasons but it’s still amazing. 2) on that note, the trunk space in this ID7 illustrates the previous point. My GTI was like an optical illusion when it came to interior space. It was amazing how much space was in such a small car and they continue that trend. Can’t wait for our ID4 to arrive.
Honestly if this car ends up at a good price, it’ll sell well. It looks like a regular car and has a similar Tesla-esque interior but obviously nowhere near as Cheap. Looks great, VW did a good job
The build quality is definitely superior on VW, but if a base ID.4 is over 40K, this will start in the mid 50's. Americans are struggling to pay rent and buy food. HUGE layoffs of good paying jobs. The only way this will be affordable is if we end up with another 1929 soon.
Absolutely.. best way for it to open. The charging handle is going to be pointed somewhat down... an the cable will be bending forwards or backwards depending on the charger site layout, and how you parked. way less risk of damage to the door, and as you said it will provide a cover for the handle while charging.
Honestly, even the Model 3 should have a hatch by now, since megacastings should stiffen the rear. I'm guessing they haven't only bc they'd rather upsell to the Y.
VW rocks with their headlights (some of the best), something we need in Canada to watch out for all that wildlife we have, similar situation with Bjorn Nyland in Norway, Ioniq 5 & 6 headlights suck, so this is another thing VW has going for it! Man I’m just glad that that someone hasn’t totally abandoned all other cars in favour of suvs and even worse cross overs I just hope that they make a wagon/estate version of this car. Also I really appreciate that the charging flap lifts up like that short of a tycan that has a pocket sliding door style I think that’s a great low cost high reliability option and with it going up means that it won’t get in the way at chargers when you’re cable is at its max length.
Unsure about that. Low charging speed, high price, still the typical VW software and probably the same throttling behavior the other IDs have. I would rather check out NIOs ET7 or others

i have heard that they warm the battery when you navigate to a charge, but you can also do it manually! More effective motor, lower drag. (and new battery 170 kW peak (200 peak on the bigger 91kWh), say it has a flat charging curve, but that need to be confirmed)
Nobody told you about the new pre-conditioning capabilities? On route pre-conditioning and manual with information about what rate you will get. Love that Car.

There are only so many inches of length in a car. Frunk space is highly inefficient use of those inches, at a cost of interior space. Anything more than a very small compartment to hold a portable evse, Tesla adapter, etc, is a sign of poor design in a passenger vehicle. Trucks on the other hand,I see the frunk as a huge benefit, as they don't have anywhere else to lock up stuff water tight etc like that. For most vehicles, that space is better used the way VW does, for all the necessary mechanicals.
I'm afraid the price point is likely going to be prohibitive, but this would be a great vehicle for my wife and kids... I like it. From what we've seen they've knocked it out of the park.
Looking forward to seeing it in person. Always loved sedan style Passats. Hope they keep the price competitive and recognize other brands qualify to get $7,500 credit

Interesting European/UK reviewers have said it's not due in the US until 2024 but will be in the EU in late 2023. Additional: 700km WLTP for 86kWh pack I know and 600 and something for the 77kWh.
Price and Range are two critical factors - with performance being a distant 3rd. Hopefully this ends up being better then the letdown that the Ioniq 6 was.
Kyle absolutely love your content sir! I wonder how well these will sell. Not because it's not a good product. Crossovers and SUV are what Americans want. We need more Rivian R1S type EV as I believe there is a huge market for those types of vehicles!
That's a decent looking car. I mean for someone who cannot afford something like a Model S or Lucid air and want to go mid level this is a great option. VW always made pretty good cars, my first gen VW CC was still to this date one of my favorite cars and I think one of there most handsome cars ever. Nice job VW
Well said, when vw referred to it as their electric limousine? You know it's not gonna be cheap though. Electrifying channel says starts around 55k euros for the base battery rwd trim. So likely right in between the model 3 and model s on price.
It looks good to me. It's tricky to understand the size of the vehicle on video. It looks tall, but is it a crossover or a normal size sedan? Would you say it's closer in size to something like a Polestar 2 or a Model S? Either way...looks promising. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice car. A iD3 size car or cross over with 150mile range with be good enough for most people here in SoCal. I barely drive my id4 more than 50 miles per day.
