In 1977, I had added a vacuum controlled cruise control onto my 68 Firbird 400/4-Speed. However, I skipped looping a disconnect switch to the clutch pedal. I left my girl friends house at 1am, on a cold wintry night. With the cruise engaged, as I went over an icy multilane interstate bridge, the rear wheels broke lose. That caused the cruise control to immediately release the throttle. The wheels stopped spinning on the ice, so the cruise saw now wheel spin, and it stomped on the gas.. All #%$$ broke loose and after a couple 360's I came to a stop on the shoulder with no dents, but a need to change my pants. Don't get the wiring wrong. Haha
Audio sounded great! Hope that cruise control works out because I was wondering about how that would work with the LS3. I am planning out my wiring now and was looking at using the GM body control module to control the cruise control since it is only $80 new, but the control switches use resistors to send the signal down one wire, and I can do that, but it also uses the brake pedal position sensor that is a potentiometer and not a simple on/off switch so not sure if the system can use a regular on/off type switch. If it does it will be about $400 dollars cheaper than the Dakota Digital setup but it will take some work. May not be worth it though if the setup you are using works out since it looks pretty easy. Anyway, love the video and the audio was great and the 'bird is looking awesome!
