Every single day, 142,000 computers are thrown away in the US. Our hope, when teaming up with Dell, was to encourage more people to recycle their electronic waste. In the hands of people like you, photography can become a powerful weapon. We hope that you will join us in making the world a better place!

I used to work in e-waste recycling fot reBOOT Montreal in your home city. Sadly we closed back around 2008 :(

Thanks for the reply. The "landfills all over the world" appears to refer to a discredited claim by a Seattle NGO (one that attacked Dell 17 years ago with a similar false claim). The electronics in scrapyards in emerging markets were reused for years before eventual discard. Nice project but why should i give them dell for free. They make new products out of it and i have to pay again. So in which step is dell joining the philanthropic part?
It costs money, time and energy to recycle - They're simply providing the service. You can throw things into the landfill if you prefer, but that seems kinda dumb.
Jikutzu It takes money, time, and hiring a lot of workers to recycle e-waste. Dell is footing the bill for the environment. Would you rather throw away your e-waste and support tech companies that DON’T use recycled materials?
Nice of you to imply I would throw it into the landfill. I think my question is reasonable and therefore i could expect a normal respectful answer i guess. Indeed, it takes a lot of time etc to recycle. But nonetheless, it is a good source for dell to get resources for their products - for free. I see no reason why I should give it for free. They could pay for it or offer a discount.
Hi Ben, Beautiful photography to get the message through. I'd hand carry my old lap top to Dell if I could. Otherwise it goes to the community recycling center for electronics. Hand delivered of course. Cool Beans!
