I can confirm that this wiring does *not* work as shown on my 88 NA, as the vertical operation is reversed if you wire with the single ground (it also looks mis-wired as the the black lead clearly connects to the right-most motor conductor on the original at 1:27, however he has soldered the black/brown to that lead on the new assembly at 4:01).
I had to de-solder and remove the new 3-pin leads, and wire the original 4 wires identically to the stock setup to get it to operate properly. This was actually better as the wires then exit properly out of the backplate and closer to the hole in the mirror frame properly.
I'm honestly at a loss how this worked properly on his 944 as he shows it.
I wish you would have made a video of that, Im about to do this job
Beautiful Mate. appreciate this !!😅😀👍👍👍
Thanks so much I’m going to do mine
white/brown & black/brown are common (ground) white, black are positive. (12vdc) at end of video you can see corrections were made, but edits were not
Look up m4 mirror motor and you'll find plenty for around a tenner as it seems to be a pretty universal part across V.A.G, Renault and Ford
Thanks that's useful information
Does anyone have a US link?
nice vídeo, congratulations, i liked it!!
It would appear 87-89 Ford Mustangs used the same mirror motor. Found my way here looking for s replacement and it appears the VW part is the answer
