I wish they would make models of these that used the shell systems, especially being able to use stripper clips would be good fun, and the abilities to load pellets with those is an added bonus

I love larger bolt-action rifles so much more than for instance semi-autos when it comes to recreational target shooting. Just so much fun.

    Hello Andy & Rebecca:
I have all 3 of the Nagants offered by Gletcher (M1891, M1895 BB, & this one, the M1944).
I just want to add some points, if I may.
Like most Gletcher boxes, there is a schematic of the pistol on the inside cover of the box.
The leather 'buckles' are often called 'dog collars'.
The mag for the M1891 is interchangeable with the mag of this rifle.
When you put the safety on, it charges the gun even w/o pulling the bolt itself all the way back.
The bolt may be removed & easily disassembled. But pay a attention to reassembly as it can be a bit finicky.
There is a nice metal strap on the butt end of the rifle.
WARNING TO OTHERS: The sound of that bolt action is ADDICTIVE.
I have plans in the near future of doing a video with all 3 guns in B&W as a mini-reinactment by myself.
BTW, into my downloaded collection goes this one, my friend.

You can easily remove the bayonet just by unscrewing it. This is what I did - not because it was particularly dangerous, but because it was scratching the gun's stock when folded.

For the price, I would’ve expected it to have geniune woods, and a cartridge ejecting feature like on the Underlever. I don’t know if the reason why it’s not wood is to keep the weight down, or keep the price affordable, if it’s the price, daisy makes guns like the red ryder, model 25, model 105 with real wood but still keep the price low, but if it’s the weight, again like what andy said it’s targeted to specific people, i’m sure that extra heft of feel would have been appreciated.

The action on that bolt seems much smoother than most Mosins I've seen on RUclips, which generally seem to require a firm hand & on occasions a little extra encouragement to go into battery!

    • @sansde1ty
      @sansde1ty 4 года назад +1

I’d agree with a gun like this, it’s all about replication of the action. For a rifle it’s very underpowered, so actual target shooting isn’t a primary concern.

No matter, it's senseless to me and when you begin talking about a 300+ pound plastic BB gun, I'm sorry, you've completely lost me. Put a wooden stock on it and rifled barrel that takes pellets, and I'm all in feeling the cost would be justified. But as it stands... no thanks.

In the UK you can't purchase or create a realistic imitation M1944 that does not shoot without a valid defence under the VCRA such as proven membership of a reenactment group, or UKARA registration for airsofts. No such restriction applies to steel BB firing replicas. Also, realistically, if they made a non firing M1944 replica of this quality, how much less than the BB version do you think it would cost. Lastly, a rifled version would need a different feed mechanism which would further detract from realism and the rifled barrel would provide so little more accuracy that it would make no difference. If you want a highly accurate bolt action rifle there are lots of PCPs out there. Alternatively, you can get the real thing in deactivated form for around £200-300, but due to the latest EU wide restrictions it won't even cock.
