I can speak from experience that it takes a lot of time. I once spent months modeling a crown made of several gems. And it ended up as a very basic model with no shading and lighting. So I might have an idea of how those people would've felt after realizing just how much got cut. I'd be devastated
@@Bestgameplayer10 They did. But I am not getting paid. My job is more like an internship. I get money from the government to pay my bills, but not from my job itself. So no, I did not get paid for it. But I did manage to get my design in a museum exhibit for a few months, so that was nice
Probably a similar experience to the current marvel CGI workers are complaining about. Considering how much they talked about their distaste towards it, I would not be surprised if Steel Wool's workers are just as upset due to how similar the situations are (if not more, considering their game was forcefully rushed to get to xmas release after what seemed to be a HUGE change of story mid-development)
Vanessa's unused voice lines are definitely some of the most interesting, where you can definitely hear the struggle between her and Vanny in her voice, where she sounds almost afraid of what will happen if she fails. And you can hear her trying to be more motherly to Gregory and trying to help, but then sometimes she seems to become more aggressively- likely Vanny forcing control and trying to get to him.
from my perspective, it looks sort of like they were changing his dialogue to more fit his personality, instead of doing it to take out the word "kill", but it's still kinda funny to think about!
@@elbereth2738 I don't think it was about personality. Gregory has lines about being hurt that were cut. Vanny had a knife that was removed. They went to great lengths to remove everything that even hinted at a possibility of Gregory being injured.
Man, you can tell that SteelWool had a ton of ideas for this game & we’re clearly passionate about them. It’s a shame that a lot of it got scraped cus the developers seemed to have worked really hard.
this video made me realize something that makes the game feel less scary, it feels like the mall is still open, all the lights are on and all the attractions are open. i think the games atmosphere would be improved if it felt like the mall was closed and you had to do things like sneak through the shut down attractions without them activating
A lot of the map stuff that was cut is really unfortunate because a lot of this seems like it would have made the game SO MUCH BETTER. I always hate it when games force me to travel such long distances that take a long time just to get to one place. These original versions would have made the game look so much better.
@@CrimsonCaII OP means cut as in "not in the main game". They're sad that they cut the shortcuts from the game, not that they deleted the unused content from the files
One thing I noticed: in the first trailer we got that creepy animatronic boot up sequence, where they moved like the FNAF 1 animatronics and had glowing red eyes; but in the release, we got that happy intro, where they behave like hyper advanced robots. Makes me wonder if sth got changed later on, or if that scene was just for show in the trailer.
Maybe it’s symbolic of the franchise. We, as outsiders who know what it’s really like, saw the robots for what they are, while in the game, since we are in fact part of the game, technically, we saw the same exact scene from the eyes of a patron- they’re just family friendly robots.
What if they were being controlled by GlitchTrap? In another game (aka Garrys mod) if Glitchtrap infects the animatronics, their eyes turned glowing red. Probably not true but just a massive guess lol
38:47 Freddy's unused line of dialog where he says "That was not me, that was a recording. I want to make sure you are not confused." might come from the Fazer Blast intercom ad dialogue.
I heard it in my game on PC. So they definitely re-added it in. Also, there’s one piece of dialogue where Freddy is talking to Gregory about him seeing the dancing rabbit lady (i.e., Vanny). I don’t know if it’s rare or not but the dialogue occurred in one of the elevators I took at some point while I was streaming on Twitch.
After the updates, we did at least learn that the Vanny fight wasnt cut... it was just horribly bugged like the rest of the game. Its the part right before the vanny ending, since Vanny is supposed to appear in that and chase you, i'm pretty sure. Imagine how confused the entire community was when the update said they fixed the Vanny battle lmao
@@Anvekeen supposedly they patched it so she appears during the fight behind you and chases you, so its technically fixed. It makes it kinda easy to miss her if you're being speedy and I had her get stuck pretty fast though
@@DellVanity ah yes, so it works but in a bad way lol. They should have made her spawn in front of you so you would need to backtrack and take another route so that everyone sees her an is aware she's chasing you. Instead of what we have, where you can easily miss her. Oh well, there are a lot of things in this game they should have made differently :')
The bowling alley mini game and the dance floor section with the bar for vip members upset me this game could have been the greatest fnaf game ever created! And tons of fun!! Way more than the final game
@@cowragegames6880 Quite the opposite, you have a lot of games that had a lot more stuff removed, so why this game in particular? Because EVERYTHING was in the game files, that's also why the game was so big in disk size, it's all here, all the cut content.
Man, this hurts to see. The game was clearly meant to be much different and much bigger than the version we got. The game was clearly changed late in development and rushed to the finish line, my guess would be due to a hard deadline set by either Sony or Scott himself. I'd love to see the game finished, but I doubt it will happen.
@@nadeshiko7 I was thinking a No Man's Sky scenario. Sony didn't develop that game either, but they invested in it and heavily promoted it, so they had a say in when it released. Security Breach could have been similar
@@Shark-Fist Prob because the game had a promising release date and the hype around it was great. And with security breach the hype was great also but the game was delayed for a whole year and sony wasn't allowed a release date or gave it the developer came out with it i think these scenarios are way different
Scott Falco once described security breach as "1 gigabyte of gameplay and 79 gigabytes of pizza and scraped feature" and I think he was only half joking
Fun fact! Vanny was supposed to show up A LOT MORE THAN SHE DOES- the only time I remember she was supposed to show up was after Sunny boi kicked you out (there is a ton more) There was a glitch (how convenient) and it deleted a few of animations of her showing up.
I hope that in the not so distant future we get a "Director's Cut (DX)" style thing in the future reworking the story and maybe also restore the Pizzaplex to how it was intended.
I was just telling my friend that, I really like this game but I have to admit that the story is not the best it can be I've actually been rewriting the story and gameplay sequences in my spare time
The room at 17:00 freaked me out so bad because BEFORE security breach even came out I had a dream and the room I was ESCAPING from something in looked eerily similar to this.
If I remember correctly, I think the line is the video is actually a slightly different take! It's relatively the same dialogue, but sometimes, one recording of it just sounds better than another to put in the final game!
It's heartbreaking that these developers had so many things made for this game but less than half of them are actually seen in the final game. That huge backstage area being unused really sucks. I feel bad for these developers. Had they put just a couple of months more to work on this stuff, the game would've probably been 100% better than what we got.
If given the time to optimize, implement, and overhaul a lot of existing and unused content, I think they'd be able to dramatically improve the state of Security Breach. It's just a shame to see a lot of this go given the game was rushed out. This constant pressure from fans and companies to hit certain deadlines needs to be held back more.
Tbf the fans whilst sad and annoyed at delays they never forced the game out the door. They choose to release it when they did. They decided that this was a good enough state to launch in. This is their mess and people shouldn't direct blame away from them, let the people who are paid to run socials do that
@@BigLesbian The Devs have been very transparent about the problems surrounding the game, which is more than can be said for many other half-baked releases. They effectively had to remake a game twice, and then it was ultimately forced out just to meet a holiday deadline. There's no one person to blame here, it's not a situation so simple you can say "well tuff" and move on. They know there's a problem and actively want to correct it.
@@BigLesbian The devs have very little to do with deciding deadlines. The only people who should be getting heat (and yet never do) is management and the producers (i.e. Sony of America). And nor do they care since they still got to fill their fat pockets like the greedy, soulless scumbags they are. The devs were clearly passionate and had the drive and skill to bring this game to life. But ultimately the greed of corporate killed their opportunity to make the best FNAF game to date.
This is an example of why game companies and developers need to delay games until full, or almost full, completion. FNAF SB was a huge let down with all the bugs and oddities to it, and it was obvious that it was rushed.
Steel Wool isn't a big studio. They did delay the game a few times, but those delays are more time and money without making any returns. It probably got to a point where they needed to release it for financial reason. It wasn't a huge AAA studio with billions behind it.
"I can find him, it won't be like the last one" Would have been such a great line to include in the game, and I think it'd be way better if Vanessa was never really a villain in this game but just an authority figure Gregory didn't trust, trying to save him
I just realized that the “behind the lanes scene” was probably disassembled glam rock Bonnie, because in the DLC behind the lanes was a shattered and broken glamrock Bonnie
all the early versions were honestly better and almost would’ve made the game more “scary” in a way because of how realistic it would’ve been instead of having a bunch of giant automatic doors
I'm hopeful that they take their time to finish everything else and add most of these unused stuff. They have a lot to work with considering how long this video was.
It's interesting seeing the bowling alley map after having experienced Ruin. The door on the right hand of the map definitely looks like it was meant to lead to the secret room that you get access to in Ruin. And it's probably also what that developer text references. I guess they didn't cut just areas and models, but Bonny's entire storyline too. Jeez...
9:28 You know, sometimes I wonder....what is the reasoning for a Roxy picture IN A FRAME to be in a DESK. Makes you wonder how the staff felt to see some hot wolf furry robot come to the plex.
27:41 It's a regular bot because it wasn't made to be a comedy bot according to one of the messages you find which implies someone modified the bot "Maybe that creepy bot knows where the key is. Leo was supposed to train it to work the maze, instead he tricked the bot into doing busy work under the daycare theater." At least I think that's what this is referring to
I'm absolutely heart broken over how much content was cut because it was an astronomical amount, however I think if we had everything, this game would have been a 20 hour playthrough and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I do hope that they can finish and include these in a DLC in the future though.
Steel wool should have been honest with fans. We wouldn't have been as bewildered if they had put a statement explaining that a lot of things needed to change
4:00 “oh wow this is cool” 9:00 “oh, that’s a shame” 20:00 “oh…” Me 20 minutes into the vid “I feel bad for the devs” 😭The amount of cut content is crazy
Fun fact: The Roxy line "Give me back my eyes!"at 56:00 was reused in the Ruin DLC when you discover that Roxy dosen't want to kill you but Gregory so she say sorry and let you go
I can see now why the game had to be delayed and came out so bad. With the amount of deleted content i feel like they spent more time on making maps and changing them just to have them cut from the game than fixing bugs or adding actual good content. I love the franchise of FNAF but this game kinda sucked. If there’ll ever be another FNAF game i hope it will be better than this.
Seems like a case where their initial plan was too ambitious and they bit off more than they could chew. Eventually they reached a point where they realized they were out of time and/or money to be able to make they game they wanted, then had to scramble to put together a functional game with the completed pieces they had. Things like the Roxy go kart being a cutscene instead of a playable minigame is a good example of one of these cuts. Seems likely that at one point they wanted the player to actually control a go kart and crash it into Roxy, but couldn't get the minigame into a functional state so they just had to take it out entirely. The end result feels pretty awkward. But yeah I'd assume a lot of those cut maps, animations, etc. were made earlier in the development cycle but once they got to the point where they were scrambling, they just couldn't find a place to use them, or how to get them to work quickly
That ATM sign being hidden looks like it was probably just a case of someone messing up the XY tool and never bothering to fix it. I mean, this IS Security Breach after all.
That bit bugged me so much - it's clear they MEANT for the text to be on the wall but didn't adjust it correctly! A simple fix! It seems like the devs were so rushed to put this game out that even after all the cuts they made, they still didn't even have the time to properly double-check and debug things, which is super unfortunate.
5:45 Yeah, the frozen endo was supposed to be used in the original, but was scrapped. If you were to find a video of the some of the unused voice lines for the game, you hear a Gregory saying that it’s “very cold” and that an endo is frozen holding, I believe, a camera.
I am so glad some of these lines got added back in! I finally got to play the game after the most recent patch and found most of the voice lines that got added back into the game including all of the Comedy Bot & Magician lines as well as the Freddy questioning Gregory about seeing Vanny line. That one shocked me big time as I hadn't heard anything about that being added after the updates.
Why did they get rid of the windows from Bonnie bowl to Roxy raceway? They could've kept the windows and do the same trick as in the "Freddy vent" room. Problem of loading both big areas solved and there would be more things to look at (those walls in Roxy raceway are so blank).
That's exactly what I thought! Plus, NOT having an overhead viewing area of Roxy's Raceway is a crime - that place is begging for some giant viewing windows at the top! More realistic that way!
The fact that a lot of these were removed makes me hopeful that the dlc/patches are working to add this stuff back in, one of the focuses they said they were working on was compressing the file size, so that could help it run better
Coming back to this after a few months and man, it's sad. It's clear the development team had a passion for this project and put so much work into a ton of things that eventually amounted to nothing. As someone who's worked in developing games, it's incredibly difficult to make a choice to cut content that's been essentially finished- it's a decision rarely made and even then, almost never made by the developers themselves. It's an absolute shame that their dev team's work was so disposable to whoever got final say on what ended up in the game, be that an exec or someone else, and even worse that most of the hate I've seen towards this game having so much cut content has been filled with complaints about the dev team being lazy, incompetent, etc when clearly they weren't. I know the chance of a rerelease of the game in full as originally intended is VERY low, but I still think the devs at steel wool deserve a better chance at making good content for this. They're very obviously capable, just got cut short for some reason (harsh deadline, crunch maybe, scott having final say on story writing and seemingly switching up plot, working during a pandemic with regulations to watch for, small team from what I've heard, etc? all things that could've possibly affected development negatively). I don't have much else negative to say about the game because there's nothing that hasn't already been said a million times, just sad so much hard work got left on the cutting room floor.
@@ryanfleshbourne3547 Yes, the higher ups for sure. But the small dev team that doesn't get much of a say in anything and was essentially told to create a triple a game in just a couple years? Nah. The game devs coding, modeling, ordering playtests, etc don't write the game, they simply execute the ideas given to them by the writer(s). They got screwed over by their bosses big time and it sucks that they were doomed to fail from the start because the things they did right were done incredibly well in my opinion, and it would've been great to see everything else done equally well.
@@ryanfleshbourne3547 /2 in other words, the dev team who basically had to follow orders to difficult to deal with? I understand the lackluster performance, I don't blame them for the whole mess. The execs giving them a tight deadline and Scott giving a plotline too big to finish within that deadline? Very lame. You gotta give your workers enough time to actually do their work I'd you want it to function properly.
@@sleepiemc the thing you're misunderstanding is that Steel Wool themselves accepted this project under that time constraint. They thought they could do it, they couldn't. A larger/more skilled team could. It is their fault for hubris.

I’m wondering if the mini games were originally meant to give you tickets that you could use to earn access to different parts of the pizzaplex. I also wonder if the reason the Pizzaplex had to be segmented into rooms & hallways had to do with the animatronics tracking you. What I mean is: with how large the plex is, I wonder if the problems were either you could technically trick the animatronics to stay on the other end of the plex & never bother you, or if the AI’s go overboard in their stalking, making advancement impossible. Maybe the map was changed because they couldn’t figure out how to fix the bugs fast enough.
Pretty much they made it so difficult animatronics would appear in certain rooms but having large open spaces made it to easy to avoid them and it messed with the AI
many theories have mentioned William's wife leaving him/being absent somehow, wich led him to make Ballora as a substitute, and this voice line seems to support this
9:26 I find it hilarious that even IN-UNIVERSE people are swooning over Roxy. The devs definitely knew the furries would be lusting over this character and put these pictures through the many offices. As if the Pizzaplex employees all have crushes on her.
@@bigbadgammagnome Oh, that’s for sure! It has a ton of cut content, from fully finished maps and voice lines, to animations and models. I’m sure what we got from SB is only like 10% of what it was supposed to be. I’m still pissed lol, it could’ve been such a masterpiece of a game
1:03:58 I just noticed that you can hear the radio-sounding jumpscare from nightmare's jumpscare in fnaf 4... also those bots in the sewers have in your dreams on them, which is real interesting
It is such a shame to see how much was cut off the game, i really thing that they had so much good that would make the game really good, both by improving the narrative and gameplay, just imagine for a second if it was true that we would control Vanessa for a section of the game, i think it would've added so much more.
I imagine that the complete version of Freddy's line at 44:57 would be him saying he remembers Gregory from the performance he'd done before breaking down.
The audio from around 40:49 is interesting. One of the things with generally less confirmation within fnaf lore (at least in my experience, let me know if there was something I missed) was what happened to Mother Afton. Some had even suggested the kids were adopted. This dialogue suggests that instead Mother Afton simply left William (it mentions quitting work, but that might just be referencing how much damage the pizzeria caused for the family; such as killing off two of their young children). This would explain why she is elaborated on less than the others, as she didn't stick around. The resemblance to Ballora could also point to the theories that Ballora and Mother Afton were somehow connected (whether she possesses Ballora or if Willam made Ballora in memory of her or something like that). While this might not be a full conformation, it does bring some nice merit to the idea.
No, procedural walls are an UE asset that can be modified using procedural parameters before comitting the wall blocks into normal meshes. It doesn't have anything to do with any procedural hidden mazes and the like. Just a default name that you need to change when you create a mesh from the procedural wall tools.
I really hope the new ruin dlc will use the scrapped survival mode and the extras menu even if they don’t re-add some of the scrapped areas it would make the game so much more lively
A month late, but at 30:40 when he's talking about the racing graphics, you CAN actually see more than just Freddy in the game. All 4 animatronics can be seen in one of the upper hallways, either between Fazer Blast and Roxy Raceway, or by the cupcake factory and Monty Golf. (Its been a while since I played, but I do remember seeing all 4 racers in action in one of those hallways) :)
1:01:46 this line actually was used in an unused cutscene after the afton ending where Freddy steals a 2003 Honda accord and drives Gregory and himself away from the pizzaplex
Alright I’m not a lore deep theorist by any means but I think I have an idea of how the game was supposed to go down before all the cuts: ~skip to the end for summary~ 1. The game was supposed to be 5 nights (obviously). The tasks are grouped the way they are because they were supposed to be done on separate nights; also explains why the animatronics slowly get dirtier 2. Vanessa was on Gregory’s side in the beginning. The trailers pre release strongly hint at some ‘corrupting force’ affecting Vanessa into wanting to hurt Gregory. I think that where the game begins (Greg sneaking to hide in Freddy) was actually after Vanessa was possessed and started trying to hurt him. The audio files clearly show she was helping Gregory and cooperating with Freddy at some point so it only makes sense that she turned on Gregory- otherwise it wouldn’t make sense why he starts the game so adamant that she was trying to hurt him because he’d have no reason to think that. For all we know the first 1-2 nights could have shown everyone in friendly states with Vanessa realizing Gregory is there night 1 and trying to help him night 2 and getting corrupted soon after. Either she corrupted the other animatronics or the same force that got her got them as well. But from monty’s voice line from the trailer I think that the other animatronics were originally supposed to get corrupted separately (maybe even on separate nights seeing as their boss fights are so isolated and spread out from each other) Like I said I’m not a lore expert or anything but after seeing that more than 40% of the plot was cut to rush the game to release, there’s a lot of info that fits together to form a pretty good storyline TLDR: Vanessa was supposed to start off on Greg’s side; the beginning of the game where Greg is hiding from Vanessa is after she was possessed and tried to hurt him; game was going to be five nights with the animatronics getting corrupted and the boss fights happening on separate nights (explains the task grouping and why animatronics get dirtier over time). *other animatronics might have actually been on Greg’s side at the beginning as well. I have no evidence for this one but imagine that they all were trying to help greg at the start and then after Vanessa gets corrupted their memories are wiped and they’re turned against him one by one instead of how they all just simultaneously turn aggro for no reason in the current game
I find it weird that Steel Wool, with how small of a studio it is, wasted so much of their assets and effort. Somethings only need some minor tweaks and would've DRASTICLY improved the game. Maybe they simply got overwelmed? They did have to port this for PS5, PS4, PC all at the same time.
One of the major issues is that they seemingly lack technical skill. The complete absence of any alternate LOD models and textures and the vast amount of items constantly loaded tells me that they had no idea how to optimize the loading system. The problem isn’t that the game was big, it was that they never implemented a system that could unload objects from their maximum definition when you don’t see them. That’s the reason this game is so badly optimized and runs so badly even on strong hardware. They don’t seem like they knew what they were doing half the time. It was said by a wise man, “If you give me 3 hours to chop down a tree, I will spend 2 of them sharpening my axe.” The team at Steel Wool didn’t even seem to understand how, let alone what, to cut to save data whatsoever. It’s sloppily made and optimized about as well as a balloon is for acupuncture. They’d need to completely rebuild the loading system to fit more stuff in on top of removing all this clutter from the files to make space. It’s a disgrace.
@@scarymeunster9095 That's fair, plus couldn't they essiantly deload models or enemies except for hitboxes until they were in a specific range of the player? As you stated, it seems like everything is constantly running and existing at its highest quality (like even NPCs not involved in the specific areas, just exist off the map and lag?). Im wondering if maybe these same tactics arent necessary in VR games (i doubt, seems more important there) and thus the team didnt have the experience to make a console game? That is 100% true though, they didnt put enough work into a strong foundation to enable the rest of the game to run smoothly. If the functionality was spot on, then it would've been easy to port any NPC in, load any area, etc. Makes me worry that the DLC will be on the same faulty framework.
I'm commenting on this super late, don't mind me. I'm a game dev, but I've only ever worked with Gamemaker Studio (both 1 and 2). I've rarely worked with any sort of 3D engine like Unity or Unreal, including 3D modeling, meshes, etc. I recently saw a video on how to use UE4's built in LOD optimization tool. UE4 can literally analyze the model (I think using AI) and generate various versions of that model based on how far away you are from it. Literally takes less than 15 minutes to commit the changes. Steel Wool definitely neglected to utilize this tool, along with the multitude of other built in UE4 tools, and even with the most recent patch, that shows. Even their use of UE4 default font and lack of text centering is laughable, but I digress. I saw one comment here talking about VR games and LODs. I think that wasn't completely necessary given the size of the maps in Help Wanted or any other one of Steel Wool's VR games. They were much smaller in scale, meaning even without model optimization the game still runs relatively fine. Now, addressing another comment talking about the DLC running on the same unoptimized framework as SB, sadly I think that's what's gonna happen, given that there was once a DLC button on SB's main menu, and also if you look at SteamDB, you can see that changes are being made to fnaf9_dev_shipping which I believe is the main game. Hopefully, since SW said they hired a bunch of new people, they can actually take advantage of UE4's built in stuff. Like the more I look into it, the more frustrated I get because UE4 has SO MUCH that SW just isn't using. Anyways, that's my take on it.
43:00 it’s not general imagery/mention of blood and injuries that the devs were worried would change the game’s rating, there’s obviously a lot of T-rated games with blood and gore. It’s when a *child* character is central to or prominent in the game that this kind of thing becomes a problem. According to ESRB, any game that mentions or shows children getting killed or seriously injured is subject to getting an M rating, regardless of the tameness of the rest of the game’s content. The most devs can do is moderately imply that a child is in danger, at least in recent years. Since Fnaf games have always been rated T, it makes sense that the devs would do whatever they needed to keep it that way, for consistency. That’s also why Gregory’s “She’s trying to kill me!” line was scrapped too.
35:03 This is also probably why a portion of the track acts as a cutscene trigger since with this minigame once you got there it would start Roxy's decommission cutscene
i love the removed features the reason why people like us got a fnaf phase was the thrill but we dont get much of that the most probably scariest part was moon drop but then that its just all cute and cuddly designs and we barely see vanny i hope steel wool changes these stuff in the DLC hopefully
I do like security breach, although I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that I feel robbed of a lot of the game after what the trailer gave us. Security breach is a great insight into what Fnaf is going to be like, and what we can expect from them in the future. And I think it's a huge step up from the usual typically point-and-click games. Security breach feels more like a really good insight into an amazing concept of what Fnaf is going to be like in the future, rather than an actual fnaf game that is part of the whole series. Despite its flaws, it makes me really excited to see what more we are going to get, considering Steel Wool definitely seems to be accepting feedback from their fans.
The bit about the princess from the 3 PQ titles being "Cassidy" hasn't aged too well. In the Feb 28 update, Steel Wool changed the character's name to the more generic "Princess" so looks like that name was just a mistake and not meant to mean anything.
It was probably what a lot of the messes in this game were - trying to change up details because they don’t want the fans to be right before it comes out. Matpat and the theorists probably put it together too soon and they did what they did with most of the stuff in this game and tried to “surprise” us by butchering the intended plot.
@@scarymeunster9095 Steel Wool execs appeared on a livestream with Dawko back in December, just before the game came out and they said a lot of the problem was "project creep" meaning a huge number of little changes that added up to a game too big for their team to finish. I've been there in website projects before so I can personally relate to that.
Yeah, it's a real big bummer. They also changed the one when we get chased by monty. The bigger utility tunnel look better in trailer than the tiny one we got in game lol
I feel al ot of those connected rooms, like the Bonnie Bowl window looking out to Roxy Raceway & having Elchips & the arcade connected would have been possible with better optimization. They could have even added some fog to hide the items that weren't loaded in yet.
@@muddashucka9743 well not fog, but just something to block stuff out in the distance. This is done with a lot of games, using smoke or fog to hide distant objects that aren't loaded

I know I'm SUPER late on this, but I found your video recently and was curious about the game and if they'd ever update it to it's original former glory. Anyway, my one comment was about the procedural walls. Having nodes that generate environments faster and with more flexibility can actually save on resources since it works dynamically. They were probably testing procedural walls in order to design rooms easier and without leaving artifacts behind unlike the game where there's a lot of objects just slightly out of view of the camera to the player.
I wonder if some of the reskins (like the bots) simply got missed? Like they put in a generic bot texture as a fill in for Comedy Bot, but when issues began to pile up and rush for release. He simply got forgotten about and not updated with the new design.

I can’t IMAGINE how frustrated the set/animation/function team was. Things kept getting scrapped and it takes a lot of work to model these things
I can speak from experience that it takes a lot of time. I once spent months modeling a crown made of several gems. And it ended up as a very basic model with no shading and lighting.
So I might have an idea of how those people would've felt after realizing just how much got cut. I'd be devastated

I know! Especially the line where she mentioned "the last one" as she knows at least one kid went missing at Freddy's.
That was exactly what I was thinking!

Them not wanting to say the word "kill" in a game series where the entire plot hinges on a serial child murderer is honestly hilarious

@@CrimsonCaII bullshit. The game was rushed as hell and was horribly compressed. They ran out of time
One thing I noticed: in the first trailer we got that creepy animatronic boot up sequence, where they moved like the FNAF 1 animatronics and had glowing red eyes; but in the release, we got that happy intro, where they behave like hyper advanced robots.
🤔 - Huh, I need to see that for myself...
What if they were being controlled by GlitchTrap? In another game (aka Garrys mod) if Glitchtrap infects the animatronics, their eyes turned glowing red. Probably not true but just a massive guess lol

I don’t know if it’s rare or not but the dialogue occurred in one of the elevators I took at some point while I was streaming on Twitch.
After the updates, we did at least learn that the Vanny fight wasnt cut... it was just horribly bugged like the rest of the game. It's heartbreaking that these developers had so many things made for this game but less than half of them are actually seen in the final game. That huge backstage area being unused really sucks.
The devs were clearly passionate and had the drive and skill to bring this game to life. But ultimately the greed of corporate killed their opportunity to make the best FNAF game to date.

I'm pretty sure there won't be a new part. They can't make Afton come back that many times.
Yeah, that's covered here 👍🏻
I am so glad some of these lines got added back in!
Yeah, exactly! There's just so many honestly baffling decisions made in this game!
Noice. Very convenient to see it all in one binge-able place alongside Sagan's vid for his retrospectives. These two will make a fine double feature.
Steel Wool did this to themselves. They overblew the project.
You gotta give your workers enough time to actually do their work I'd you want it to function properly.

honestly I really hope either the studio or modders will help fully create the game as it was meant to be cause it could become a really great game.

I think that's supposed to be the moment the other animatronics bust in and jump Freddy or Freddy gets possessed by Burntrap
I hope a director’s cut comes out that goes through the original vision of the game.
(Edit: if not as a DLC, then I’d be cool as a mod.)
36:15 possibly for the cut boiler room/freezer segment? with the frozen endos? definitely gives that vibe I think
I really hope the new ruin dlc will use the scrapped survival mode and the extras menu even if they don’t re-add some of the scrapped areas it would make the game so much more lively

1:01:46 this line actually was used in an unused cutscene after the afton ending where Freddy steals a 2003 Honda accord and drives Gregory and himself away from the pizzaplex
1:02:16 That is used in the game when Gregory finds Vanny's Hideout in Fazer Blast. that's how you can get the Vanny Endings.
It's not the same line
Alright I’m not a lore deep theorist by any means but I think I have an idea of how the game was supposed to go down before all the cuts: ~skip to the end for summary~
1. The game was supposed to be 5 nights (obviously). The tasks are grouped the way they are because they were supposed to be done on separate nights; also explains why the animatronics slowly get dirtier
But from monty’s voice line from the trailer I think that the other animatronics were originally supposed to get corrupted separately (maybe even on separate nights seeing as their boss fights are so isolated and spread out from each other)
Like I said I’m not a lore expert or anything but after seeing that more than 40% of the plot was cut to rush the game to release, there’s a lot of info that fits together to form a pretty good storyline
TLDR: Vanessa was supposed to start off on Greg’s side; the beginning of the game where Greg is hiding from Vanessa is after she was possessed and tried to hurt him; game was going to be five nights with the animatronics getting corrupted and the boss fights happening on separate nights (explains the task grouping and why animatronics get dirtier over time).
I like how the bonnie bowl cutscenes are just Bonnie ruthlessly murdering a group of pins
Y'all I don't know if anybody else thinks of this but for me I think this game was a pretty big let down because alot of things were cut
i wish instead of micro-transactions being a thing, all games had a *low spec* version and a *high spec* version.
how would that replace micro-transactions
@@Dylbags You'd get to play on your potato AND save lots of money.
@@trexindominus8119 We save money, they lose money. It’d never fly.
I love that you can make a feature length film showing off all of the unused content in Security Breach.
The fact that the amount of cut/unused content fills a 90min video is both shocking and disapointing.
The bit about the princess from the 3 PQ titles being "Cassidy" hasn't aged too well. In the Feb 28 update, Steel Wool changed the character's name to the more generic "Princess" so looks like that name was just a mistake and not meant to mean anything.
IT WAS A COVER UP
@@Dylbags COVERING UP LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!
Sucks those utility tunnels aren’t still in the game, seeing how big this freaking game is
Yeah, it's a real big bummer. They also changed the one when we get chased by monty. The bigger utility tunnel look better in trailer than the tiny one we got in game lol
Some of the stuff in this video has been added to the game since June 15th, which makes me so happy.
It's so nice to see how many things they reused in Ruin. Especially Chicas Chicken Frenzy!
@@muddashucka9743 Or make it dark. The pizzaplex is too bright
I want Scott to come in one of these days and explain why things got cut, and what happend.
The FNAF theorist in me is trying to find the tiniest of details that could have potential lore...
Most I can think of is the mother of the Afton diorama leaving and the extinction of bears.
"DID YOU KNOW THAT BIRTHDAY WISHES ONLY COME TRUE IN FREDDY FAZBEARS?ITS TRUE!KIDS WHO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS AT HOME HAVE FEWER FRIENDS, AND PARENTS WHO DONT LOVE THEM!"

(realisation)
One of the notes mention why the comedy bot looks like that it was something about a worker being lazy correct me if I’m wrong
56:37 that voice line is actually used in game when chica spots you.
TetraBitGaming, talking about how there's so much unused stuff and how there's basically an entire second game that went unused:
Me: Gee, *it's almost like THE GAME WAS RUSHED!*
that voiceline of the intercom guy saying “anyone who has a birthday at home has fewer friends and parents who don’t love them” kills me
14:44 You can actually still see this in game in low resolution if you look out the windows in the office where you get the showtime disk
5 seconds later the video mentions this lol
