In 1963 I saw 10 man Scotland beat England 2 1 I saw two wonderful performances that remain with me. Jim Baxter and Willie Henderson tore England apart, with slim Jim’s trickery and wee Willies dribbling Great memories.
Can only imagine the effort that was put into compiling this footage. A tremendous video and hugely appreciated; I’ll send it to my uncle who remembers Henderson.
I bumped into him a few times in Argyle Street, always a smile . He walked right in front of me crossing Gordon/Union. I was giving it laldy on my bike. He crossed a bloody red light. I shouted, "how can I show my face in K.P. if i've knocked doon Wee Wullie Henderson? He turned round and laughed, dressed in his smart suit and overcoat. As always. He is a one off. Can fight like F86K as well. I dont't know how old he is but when je walks alnong Argyle Street it's like he owns the joint. In a nice way. He is a Ranger Great.
SC Final replay 1963 was my first ever game, which I will never forget for many reasons. WH wore the No.7 and he is 7 years older than me with the same birthday
@@scotsgaz6878 Willie Henderson is my father in law's uncle! I was to get his Scotland caps that my father in law had, but he's a horder and the caps got thrown out acadently when his house got cleared.

Those were the days eh? Nae diving, playacting, screaming at the ref tae send somebody aff, stupid offside rules, moronic commentators who knew when tae keep their mooths shut....ye were fouled ye got up and got on wi' the game....refs like "Tiny" Wharton who you know wanted tae thump ye rather and send ye aff! Aye, that was real fitba'. (The only thing that's better are the field conditions and spectator facilities....but we're sure paying a heavy fee for those improvements!).
Remember W/H telling the story of how he was drinking with George Best, Willie states to George' He was out with this woman & out with that woman etc etc, George turns and says to Willie " Look Willie' When You've Shagged TWO Miss Worlds then tell who you've been with...hahaha.

Willie still comes into our office, and all I can say is that he is a lovely man, a true gentleman and a real Rangers Legend.

Henderson to deliver
Selected for the World XI (back when there was such a thing) at the age of nineteen. What a player!
Was the best winger off his time
Great wee player but Jimmy Johnstone was the best winger Scotland has ever produced.
Remember Willie Henderson at Wednesday
Had him at Sheffield Wednesday FC in the 70s 👍🦉
Yeah when he was 40

? When did you hear that story
There's some piss poor defending on here.
Aye, Henderson played for Rangers during their apartheid days and never complained about the vile bigotry, what did that make him?
The poor imitation jinky
A legend with great taste.
I take it you didn't like his celebrations toward the bead rattlers?
A more interesting man than you 😂
