    An old diesel will act up tight when she’s thirsty. Fuel filter starvation can cause a lot of problems in 6.0.
    Keep it full, no need to race. Change out your fuel filters, often, and always use OEM

    I had a rough running issue that turned into a crank no start. I'm going crazy over here after running all these tests! It's a 2005 6.0 Powerstroke.
    While Cranking:
    FICM SYC - 1
    FMP - 47 Volts
    ICP - 1533 PSI
    IPR - 56.2%
    Where should I look? These readings look good to me. With that much pressure I don't think I need to air test it.

      @prodieselrepair3218  Год назад +2

      What's your ICP voltage? KOEO for a 2006 should be around 0.25ish volts. If it's not then you have a bad ICP sensor or a bad connection. The 1533 PSI could be a fake reading.

      @@philfinote3731 if your ICP sensor or the wiring to it are not functioning right, the ECM will implement its own number for the injection control pressure. Go to my page and look through my 6.0l video playlist. I have a video that deals with this exact thing.

    Is it possible for bad injectors to cause rough running but only when warm. Im looking to buy a 6.0 and thats the issue it has, guy says he replaced FICM, IPR and Fuel pressure sensor, but says it also need injectors 4 and 8 replaced. Seems like its possible for injectors to intermittently not work when warm. Also he says it need the turbo replaced or cleaned, I doubt that would affect running.

    • @prodieselrepair3218

      Myself I haven't seen one that runs good when cold and then gets worse, but I think its possible. You need to hook up and scanner and look at the power balance. Also need to look at the ICP pressure

    What type of scanner do you recommend. My 60 runs rough on idle and sometimes as it reaches 50-60 mph it seems to loose power. It does not walkways do that. Any ideas?

    • @prodieselrepair3218
      @prodieselrepair3218  Год назад +1

      That seems like you might have a bad injector. I've only used the Launch and Autel scanners. Both seem great.

    "Could you please advise on my 2007 6.0L? When it's cold, it runs on all cylinders, but when it warms up, one injector stops working. Could it be a faulty FICM?"

    • @johnwharton3038
      @johnwharton3038 2 месяца назад +1

      It needs oil to fire the injectors. When it warms up and the oil gets thin it can mess up the smoothness of the injectors. Use 15w only not 10w or 20w. And make sure your fuel pressure regularly is updated.

    I just got an 05 f350 harley 6.0 and the guy said it had one bad injector. It starts rough idles rough drives rough but it still starts and drives everyday. Do you think it’s just an injector or could it be the ficm or something else?

    • @prodieselrepair3218
      @prodieselrepair3218  Год назад +3

      You have to check the 5 things shown in the video. Along with that the fuel pressure under a load needs to checked (never less than 40 psi). If all of that tests good than you will probably be able to find out which injector it is by doing a power balance
