Lol I'm a full on lefty and I adore Nelly and I know this song is ment to be ironic but being totally honest certain types of feminists does have do no sense of humour, some border on militant and terrifying lol so their is a grain of truth to this line of thinking
However that statement can apply to pretty much any "group"
Any large group is guaranteed to contain some nuts and wack-a-doodles. Feminism happens to have some of the most, uh, _vocal and uptight_ as any.
If it had (at least a quasi-comprehensible) cosmology and definite statements concerning 'what happens after we die", it would be a religion. Some consider it to be such already.
Love Nellie!...Witty, with a great stage presence! Why she isn't more widely admired is a mystery to me. Too political for some folks?

She's anachronistic - her style and repertoire is digging well back to 19th C. Most people can't remember or value much about _any_ culture before the 1960s.
Appreciation of her sort of musicianship (regardless of era) is not valued as much as it used to be.
