      Pages 1-20 both sides :)
      Thank you for sharing! Very beautiful paintings, as always lovely colors, pretty florals, the statues, color studies ... everything looks great! I was about to ask what you would choose as your next sketchbook, and there it was. Hope to see another tour soon. Happy holidays! 💐

    What an awesome art journal!! These books are always on backorder. I finally got a notification that my books will be shipped. I purchased 2 so that I won't have to worry about them being sold out for a while. You have definitely inspired me; I cannot wait to get started in them.

      Very true, the backorder problem is real. I am glad that your sketchbooks will be shipping soon. Good idea to order two. I hope you like them as much as I do. I have also ordered the heavier paper, 300 pound sketchbook (it comes with just 10 pages instead of the usual 20 that comes with the 140 pound sketchbook). Love Kilimanjaro sketchbooks!

    Three little birds, your least favourite with the bees and the colour swatches were my favourite pages!!
    There something about the brightness and in some cases roughness that attracts me to them.
    Wonderful paintings, thank you for sharing \(^^)/

      Nice feedback! It is interesting how subjective art can be, isn't it?

    I am glad that you have made a wonderful sketchbook! These Kilimanjaro books are so nice! A superior product from Cheap Joe’s! I am truly taken with the sketch paper between the watercolor paper. I have a notification when they restock maybe I can finally get one? You have done a wonderful job with your book! I think you might be happier with your “bee floral” page if the white was not so stark. Your flowers and trees are my favorites in this collection.

    This sketchbook tour was delightful! It’s so nice to see how different artists approach practice and play. I particularly loved the page with the three fruit where you were playing with composition. This is something that I am currently struggling with in my practice. Also, would you mind sharing where you purchased the smaller of your two ceramic palettes; the one without the separate wells? It’s adorable and I would like one.

      Thank you for posting a comment. Can you let me know the time stamp for the smaller ceramic palette? I would be happy to share a link. Thx

    • @CeruleanCzarina
      @CeruleanCzarina Год назад +1

      @@morrisonwatercolors Absolutely! At 4:15 it is the small palette directly at the top of your sketchbook and corrugated plastic support. It has a wash of what looks like ochre and turquoise on the surface. Thank you for taking time to respond to my inquiry!

    • @morrisonwatercolors
      @morrisonwatercolors  Год назад +2

      @@CeruleanCzarina okay so that is actually a ceramic soap dish, also advertised as a ceramic palette for watercolors. It comes in a two-pack and is available from Amazon at this link (affiliate link): amzn.to/3NAbyZw. It makes for a great small palette for mixing, so much so that I ended up buying another set so I have 4 total. Thanks!

    I’m not certain this constitutes _“sketchbook.”_ A sketchbook is (typically) used for jotting down ideas, scribbles as you flush out a concept, notes, reminders &c… What you have here is more a design object, or work of “art,” in and of itself. It’s premeditated. Everything here is done by design, in an effort to work towards a predetermined goal. You had an idea to make an object, and here it is.
    Yes, it’s in the _form_ of a sketchbook, but that’s where the similarities end as far as the paradigm of sketchbook goes. This is more coffee-table book than than sketchbook. All its missing is a table of contents and some page numbers. You’ve re-contextualized the object of “sketchbook” (think Duchamp; Fountain, Bottlerack &c…). For example, if you pick up a rock, and use it to hammer in a nail, is it a rock, or a hammer? And if you used that same rock to kill an enemy, is it a rock, or a weapon?
    You need to think of the formal qualities of the object, and its intended function, as separate entities.
    Pre-emptively, this is commentary on the definition, and use, of the term “sketchbook.” *Not a critique* of the work within.)
    ---
    EDIT: We could also consider this a prop for a RUclips channel, designed to give the performer something to do and discuss.

      I would say this sketchbook is definitely more sketchbooky than so many more refined sketchbooks on youtube. This one has notes, color scheme ideas, swatches, where the other ones out there are just having very refined artwork on every page. I like this one more.

      It’s got sketch paper in it, it’s got sketches, you can call it a sketchbook.
