Mitch is over here putting out like 2 videos a day, tons of shorts, some of the best Instagram content. He is providing educational information and entertainment. Oh and he happens to be one of the best strongman on earth while being fit enough to do crossfit workouts.
Keep it up, making us Canadians proud.

I remember you once told me that putting the work in now will work wonders for when I'm older compared to someone who doesn't exercise and that's always been at the back of my mind as I'm getting older and watching people around me bodies start to fail while I still feel like I'm 20 years old.

Getting insurance to cover something like this would be so huge. It's amazing to me that on health plans I've been on they cover things like acupuncture, and naturopaths but they basically offer nothing at all regard to exercise. Especially when me getting healthy(ier) would potentially save them so much money.

SERIOUSLY! My health insurance also covers acupuncture but I'm paying out of pocket for a PT. so ridiculous

I’m a PT, Medicare cut our funding in 2019 and again last month. We get less and less reimbursement from insurance companies because we don’t really deal in medications. Medications are where the money is not natural healing.

Watching this, both men talked in a way that the common man/woman can understand. Seeing a few videos like this, I can see Mitch wanting to go complete nerd and talk with all the science jargon. He has taken a boring subject and made it interesting. I nerd out on science stuff and these videos are great.

Got my exercise science degree in 2016. In Virginia. Went to physical therapist assistant program because there wasn’t much jobs here. Or if there was they were locked down. I appreciate you much more as a professional because you’re applying the education

In va ecpi. It gets you prepared for the job . Therapy is hands on. If you are single this career is good. But married and kiddos not enough money in va.

Can confirm, Mitch's clinic is spectacular! I've been working remotely with Mel for a few months now and she's awesome! Being on a Zoom call in the gym is a bit odd at first, but TOTALLY worth it! They're not cheap but you get what you pay for!

I love these videos. Becoming a PT has been on my mind for a long time. Work as an Engineer currently, but sports has always been my passion. Only thing keeping me back is the income and security as a carreer. Engineering is, ofcourse, really secure in income, chances etc. a lot of jobs, a lot of opportunities, you name it. PT sounds awesome but for me it lacks much of this, which would make it 'stupid' to switch and give up all this security and all.
    What's your thought about this?

Love this! Hate that US healthcare only focuses only losing weight and not maintaining and gaining muscle mass. As an amateur Masters Strongwoman, I have to defend my strong body against the BMI nonsense that gets pushed by the healthcare system. Between you, Dr. Attia, and others, I hope to see changes in this system that sets up seniors for frailty by championing being skinny over being strong.

😂 I was considered “morbidly obese” by my “doctor” when I was a bodybuilder. I am 5’ 9”, and was 181lbs, and 8% body fat at that time.
When I went to join the military l they made me LOSE muscle to fit into their box of weight/height. It absolutely sucked. I was in better shape going INTO basic training than when I came out 9 weeks later.
Most “health professionals” are full of crap, and doctors only know drugs…unless they’re absolute specialists in their singular field.

Wow, undergraduate physiotherapy student here with multiple years of experience of working as a Personal Trainer. So many important points that were hit in this video. For me personally, I've struggled with the idea of helping patients in the short-term get rid of pain, guide them through initial movements etc. versus spending meaningfully more time with someone, getting to know them, and then figuring out together how to make big behavioral changes that will impact their lives forever essentially. The time investment on your end is so much greater, because you can't just run through 20 patients a day and give them premade rehab plans for _____ injury. This makes the quality of your service way better, and it just feels more meaningful.

Physical Therapy is a dying career in the states, been doing it 10 years. Not sure what the career will look like even 5 years from now. Basically insurance companies keep cutting reimbursement for us because we don’t deal in medications. Medication is where the money is not natural healing. Plus the ROI of becoming a PT isn’t worth it. You have to have ur doctorate yet you make less than managers at McDonald’s.

    • @mitchellhooperstrongman
      @mitchellhooperstrongman  8 месяцев назад +1

WAY smaller and less intrusive. The model I use can be used for distance running as well! New Age is big and, to me, a bit clumsy when doing anything for higher volumes.
