I like how you can see whats left of the mombasa skyline after the glassing, its cool how the skyscrapers in halo are tall enough to see from 117 kilometers away.
This music is a defining cornerstone of the Halo foundation. We need Halo's music to come back to this militaristic and pensive style, or at least reincorporate it heavily with newer ones. Imagine this along with Halo 4's Requiem type of music building the Halo world together...
"Ready when you are Chief, open the hatch and we'll roll on through" My first and favorite Halo level ever. I know this level better than I know some of my friends lmao.
Not my first mission but it is my most favourite. I too relate with knowing this mission better than my friends haha. I just love something fighting the Covenant on Earth and taking out their AA encampments. You also have vehicle, long range and CQC fights with a surprise Scarab fight while your Marines are supporting you with firing the missile pods (when they choose to) and while all of that is happening you have ships hovering around the excavation site in the back. I just freaking love this mission out of all the HALO games.
I remember going round to my friends house in 2008 when I was 10, he asked me what I wanted to play and he asked if I'd played Halo, I said no and he put it on. The mission he put on was The Storm and my introduction to Halo was this and the intro to this video fires up my nostalgia. I bashed Halo for years after that, some of the best times ever. Still remember how intense it was when the Scarab jumped down.
@ Salvatore: You think THAT'S the best song? Dude: The Halo 2 Vengeance Theme, The Halo 1 Menu Theme, The Halo 3 Warthog Run Theme, The Halo 2 High Charity Theme, To Kill a Demon, On a Pale Horse, Pillar of Autumn, Assualt on Cairo, Leonidis???? I can name 100 WAY better tracks. PS: While Perilous Journey (and it's beat/rhythm) is epic, that song (11:41-14:06) just sounds like a worse and lazier version of it. It almost feels like a melody is meant to pop up somewhere in the song but it never does -_-. Its not bad, it's just NOWHERE NEAR bieng the best.
Julian Baba I do admit I did exaggerate, but it still a damn good epic piece, because for me, it sets up an image in my head that there is this bad ass 2 tons of walking tank running at full speed.
I can't believe in the official soundtracks some songs are shorter then they really are, like I never even knew there was extra bits in the song (to turn a tide) I would have loved to find this video earlier thx
The first time we finally got to fight a Scarab and actually have the crew AND the Scarab itself attack you was so damn badass. You really fought for your life sine it knew that you were shooting it.
throught halo 3's missions i allways tried keeping any marines i could alive so they could help fight later in the missions. i got addicted to the halo wars seires when i found out it existed
17:37 i dunno why but this heavinly tune brings me back when halo was an unique sci-fi full of adventures and debacles and perilous journies Now the fanbase is sundered, shattered everyone has his own looks at halo, some see it as a high sci-fi, some see it as a sci-fi fantasy But the way i see it is an epic space opera full of adventures and peril and beautiful scenes
6:14 this makes me wanna glitch pilot the aa wraith on heroic or legendary if you know how to remove the top hatch without blowing up the tank ready for the scarab battle, on (eazy/normal you can get in ezier but im a gamer so harder difficulties)

what a coincidence
6:14 To turn a tide is just fucking beautiful...
The Lone Helljumper Halo 3 😇
Gives you chills.

Sensible, constructive suggestion...
feminism ruined Halo
Nice idea!
And Reach war drums
Dude halo already ended. Why stick around for more 343 slop?
The first part with the cellos and bass is one of the coolest music in halo. It's the best part of this video
Finally someone that appreciates fine music.
+Jay Hewitt I know, it's very powerful.
Aathmastralis It's the power of the Holy one.
Patriotism! ♥
Yes, its so powerfull.
3:00 most blood-pumping theme ever!

Or "Chief! The prophet of truth has found the ark.....Our Only way of stopping him is to launch a surprise aerial assault!"
I absolutely love how the new Violins kick in over the background ones at 10:45. The atmosphere is fantastic.
That's right, we're at war!

I love "The Last of the Brave" beginning at 02:40 / 18:42, approximately.
I have been playing halo 3 ever since it came out halo 3 was my favorite game of all time
Yep, and now we will be able to experience it in 60+ FPS.
To turn a tide is awesome
11:41 -14:06 : The biggest orgasm in the history of Halo's soundtrack. Nothing can top this at all, nothing....

Julian Baba I do admit I did exaggerate, but it still a damn good epic piece, because for me, it sets up an image in my head that there is this bad ass 2 tons of walking tank running at full speed.
Perlious Journey from Combat Evolved is basiclly a fuller version of this song..
Salvatore Orbit of Glass just saying... beautiful track

When the portal activated I thought it took me and my dad too long to beat the mission and the Halos turned on
Lol, that would be terrifying.
I realized that one of the sound samples I used was bad, so I replaced it with a cleaner version.
@6:13 When the nukes dropped on judgement day.

Yes, we, the halo community are splitted because of different opinions. I remember the days, when we were all united in one.
9:16 the scarab battle
Um, that would be in the middle of To Turn A Tide for the Scarab...
This is favorite level on halo 3
Turn the tide is probably the best Halo 3 exclusive soundtrack.
love it
Am I the only one that listens to this when I'm actually playing Halo 3?
Me too.
3:21 best part 4 me
16:43 That song will play when bungie returns.
+Trevor Hansen I'd rather they don't if their next Halo game would be anything like Destiny.
+Dylan V. Sad but true. They gave birth to one of the greatest video games of all time....Yet they always wanted it to be Destiny from the start.
***** Uhh no. They left because their contract with Microsoft was up. Had nothing to do with how they felt about the franchise.

Well there's no point in telling the guy a bunch of stuff if it's all bullshit info
too bad the 343I is horrible at this mission. it will never happen for the entire crew to come back.
It was the beginning, i think.
