If Patrick Ta had have come out & said that his duos were baked gelee in rhe first place, I think it would have explained the price point & saved a lot of confusion. I wish brands would advertise their products for what they are & tell us the formula. You should be on his payroll !!
I was someone who thought the price was crazy until I realized the duos were a baked gelee formula. It makes perfect sense once you know that. These are 4g of baked shades. It’s actually a decent price for what you’re getting, in my opinion. I’d love to try one or two duos when creators get them and show swatches of what they actually look like! I’m glad to have a new brand starting to give us baked shades.
Thanks for explaining all this! I still won't get the Partick Ta because for me, no eyeshadow duo on earth is worth that price, no matter how beautiful. But I'll be interested to watch your future videos about it.
Interesting! I think it’s the powdery filler what gives me lash inflammation and lash loss with drugstore brands (Kiko). The baked gelee from Pat Grath (and Tom Ford baked honeymoon quad) never gave that issue despite my fears with the larger glitters 🤔
Thank you for this timely video. I'm always interested to hear your thoughts on such releases and formulas. (I think I'll skip the Patrick Ta duos, as I've just purchased some Viseart mini quads to add to my collection.) I'm looking forward to your baked gelée comparison video! ❤
Ah yes! That was a very good example of what I mentioned in your last video regarding baked gelee. It definitely emphasises lines. I think that’s why the Tom Ford powder with sparkle quads are so popular, because you can get a similar metallic sparkle effect without the lines. I’m just speaking from my own personal experience. However, I do love baked gelee formula for highlighter.
I'm only interested in one of the duos, but from the few videos I've seen so far it looks like the pearl isn't as scattered as your Dior shade. Han Beauty 101 did several comparison, unfortunately she didn't have the duo I have my eyes on. I've never payed Dior much attention but the sparkle on the one you showed here stood out from the others. The Chantecaille Elphant and the Metallist shadow are the type of colours I use a lot. So Patrick Ta's Still at the Club is the one I think I'll get most use out of.
If you watch all the videos on PT website there’s the glittery effect I talk about in the video. I will definitely report back once I get one duo, since the video you mentioned did not focus on the formula too much 😘 Also, I think the swatch at 3:23, before I sheered out the pigment, is very similar to swatches in that video. Let’s see once I get the Patrick Ta duo 😉
@@bobmindset I hope you get them, I haven't been able to find Patric Ta in the European Sephoras. My local beauty shops thankfully have Dior, so I'm going to swatch some.
I think the problem is not necessarily the price itself being too high, but the way Patrick Ta is placing itself as a brand. Is it prestige? is it luxury? I just hope they use a better component than the cheap plastic from the blushes…
The products I mentioned at 18:45 have similar positioning and worse packaging. But I agree it’s definitely a step up compared to his previous releases 😘
I'm interested! I like the look of Still At The Club. I love your unpopular takes BoB, even when I don't agree with them. Too much mob mentality on the internet these days. Also the cover picture was hilarious! That being said, I think I need to swatch these in person to form a view. Hopefully these are a higher end baked gelee formula but you never know... and I find myself thinking of the Nabla skin glazing highlighters, which seem to have a pigment-forward baked gelee formula and are still comparatively affordable.
Yes, the Nabla highlighters are baked gelée. They’re on the list! But I decluttered mine so I can’t compare them. They’re face products so less dense than what I believe the PT are. Anyway I’m going to order a couple of these PT duos soon, so will report back
I got a 15% discount on the duos for his pre-access drop. That made them just over $35 each. I really hope I love them. I have never tried anything Patrick Ta. 😅
They are slurries like Kiko Milano's singles. And there is more than one finish in Kiko..they have glittery ones too. Just like the Patrick Ta are different finish and not all are actually sparkly
Awesome video, thank you! I was someone who thought P. Ta was too expensive. I still do to be honest but can appreciate your perspective. In your opinion, which two duos are the best? I really like your choices! Thanks!
Hi! They’re objectively not cheap! But the quality is there, while it’s not always the case for new hyped releases. Difficult to reply to your question about the best duos. I think my preference goes to the darkest ones: the brown one (but I have to wait to see if it pulls too red) and the golden one (not the gold/silver, the other one, called Do you know who I am?)
This is a great explanation and comparison. I feel like it's a trending video idea to complain and go after Patrick Ta. It's really not as "expensive" with the information you are clarifying. I am getting two duos to test :) Thank you!
Jefree star confirmed him and Patrick ta used the same exact lab jefree has his most expensive baked gele highlighters they are 50$ 9 grams ! Patrick is definitely over charging
I’m not in the industry, but, as a careful consumer, I can notice that eyeshadows are more pigmented and denser than face products. So I don’t expect highlighters to have the same cost per gram as eyeshadows. 🤗
@@bobmindsetusually that is the case however his highlighters have absolutely no filler ! Same exact lab formula and pearl i own both and for A highlight it seems to have more pay off than than the shadows and reflection. But maybe that’s why Jeffree said they will last for life and barely tap them
I hope the people who are complaining about those duos watch your video and learn something! I agree with you so much.
Oh thanks Mariam 😘

You’re right! It’s what Hindash did for his highlighters

Thanks for your comment, Lisa, I agree! Let me know which ones you will end up buying 😘
$42 is still ridiculous be fr.
It is lucky to have and listen to your opinion and criteria. Thank You very much
Oh thank you! I’m happy that most of my viewers are open to listen different opinions
Thanks for explaining all this! I still won't get the Partick Ta because for me, no eyeshadow duo on earth is worth that price, no matter how beautiful. But I'll be interested to watch your future videos about it.
Thanks dear 😘

Viseart is such a classic. Thanks for watching 😘❤️

Only a few Dior releases are baked gelée, so pay attention to the formula
Love your views and explanations. I'm thinking about PT duo in Still at the Club as it looks more cool. ❤
Yes, there’s plum in it. I’m waiting for other review to check how much red has when sheered out

I don’t think it’s a valid comparison, imho. The highlighters have 7g and 10g of product, while Patrick Ta has 4g

@bobmindset I grabbed we need better lighting, still at the club, and who do you think I am. They are on their way to me! 😊💖
The exact ones I have in my wishlist! 🥰

Yes, I swatched all the Kiko ones and I purchased a bunch of them. I need time to record a video, but it’s in my to do list for the coming future 😘
