First of all, I agree with you-many full-time RUclipsrs do their jobs poorly, often failing to provide details about the formulas, comparisons with similar products, and so on. Secondly, you have such a vast collection that, in my opinion, you could easily duplicate any PT duo. I’m interested in the Still in the Club duo, but I’m not in a rush to pick it up. If it’s available on Cult Beauty during the Black Friday sale, I might get it. If not, so be it. I’m happy with my collection from Tom Ford, Guerlain, Chanel, Dior, and even Kiko. Love your videos! They’re truly one of a kind!
This is a quick video I made this morning. I wanted to place an order but I can’t. I’m moving in one month and it will be already difficult to bring my collection with me. So I don’t want to add duplicates. Such a waste of space and money. I’ll skip the BF sales this year, because I will be traveling those days.
You lose absolutely nothing by not participating in Black Friday-only gain, in my opinion. My collection has grown so much over the last couple of years that I really need to shrink it a bit. If I ever have to move, it would be such a pain to relocate all this stuff. I couldn’t agree more with you about the importance of being mindful with our purchases and avoiding the accumulation of duplicates. It’s an absolute pleasure and a great benefit for my wallet to be your subscriber. Your critical analytical approach has helped me many times ❤
Several months ago I unsubscribed from a big RUclipsr. I rarely watched her chanel anymore & I realised it was because she no longer compared the products she was reviewing to similar products & she has a BIG collection. I felt that she promoted products but didn't truly review them for her audience . The amount of PR she's given is overwhelming and I felt this was the reason she generally loves every product. I think there's definitely a bias when someone is receiving so much PR. Not always, some are genuine but many are insincere. This is what sets your chanel apart from the others.
I can imagine that when you receive so much it’s objectively difficult to go deep and pay attention to the single products: you pass to the next new thing. That’s the bad aspect of big channels. I personally don’t watch them 😘
The Patrick Ta duos are so glittery! I swatched them in my local Sephora. I was not even tempted to buy them. They look and feel like the Pat McGrath glitter shades - (I suspect the ingredients are almost identical - and that is something you should check when comparing glitter shades from different brands). Not Fit for Print did a video and demoed the gold duo you want (one of the shades fell out but did not break). I am not impressed with these duos (and neither was Not Fit for Print). I personally prefer the Charlotte Tilbury Pop Shots - there is a beautiful taupe shade - great smooth formula that stays on the lids. My opinion: if you enjoy glitter under your eyes and on your cheeks, you will like the Patrick Ta duos.
I actually don’t like the Pop Shot formula on my eyelids, which are over 30. It feels very thick, and the glitter particles in Smokey Quartz are not very refined. I find it strange that RUclipsrs compare Patrick Ta’s duos to popular single shadows. The main comparison should be to similar formulas, not to single shadows.
I’m loving this content and really appreciate your critical thinking BoB. You have an excellent curated makeup collection and you’ve inspired me to look at my own collection more critically, as well as future purchases. Love your channel.
I guess most youtubers serve a function for these brands, and that is to make people feel like they need every product. They want us to have FOMO. That's why I love channels like yours, very few and far between unfortunately. Unfortunately most of the descriptions are very superficial, doesn't really say much about the products. I will say luxury youtubers are a little better in this department, but still not enough. One thing I noticed however is also that most consumers respond better to those superficial description, which means more views for the RUclipsr. Also more purchases using their affiliate links.
I also have affiliate links, it makes up for the time spent on editing. I think that for most RUclipsrs it’s just a matter of ignorance. They can’t distinguish formulas or they simply don’t care 😉😘
@@bobmindset Oh am completely ok with affiliate links. It's a good way to fund one's work. However I think some RUclipsrs are encouraged to try to get people to buy more so that they can earn more. I also don't think they are ignorant, I just think they may not care because of the volume of products they receive. People who pay for things are more likely to think twice about every purchase. Also when you are gifted things, you may be less likely to be critical.
Some videos I have watched made me think of pat mcgrath special shades. I do have TF body heat and some of the chantecaille Luminescent Eye Shades as well🖤😊. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts as always
You have such a beautiful baked gelee collection I really think as many have purchased and seem under whelmed I don't think they will be out of stock forever, they will be re stocked in good time and hopefully more information will be provided by these full timers haha all they say is "I like them but wouldn't recommend them or repurchase!" not very helpful but if I had your lovely collection I would wait xo
I have heard people are comparing the PTa more to the cream shadows like VB and the CT pop shots because it's like those with the shine. Idk I'm just going to order the one I wanted and see . I am going to buy the toupe. The others look like things I have 100 times over wish he did less gold. I want the duo with the silver but wish he put a toupe in it instead of gold.
I think I may be the only person on the internet who has 0 interest in these eyeshadows...even if they are baked gelee. 🤣. It seems like you already have them and possibly even in colour/tone that you prefer, so saty strong friend. You don't need them!
Oh great you are not “seduced” by them. This video acted as a therapy. I avoided the purchase. It’s true that holding back and just waiting helps with FOMO. 😘
Lauren Mae Beauty just posted a video with swatches in natural/studio lights for all the Patrick Ta duos. I've impulse bought Talk to my team from Cult and now I kinda regret it since I probably have a few dupes...
Thanks, I’ll watch it this evening! ❤️ I have seen very good swatches with all types of lightning by Teresa Mulhern and I nailed the reddish undertone of the brown duo. Maybe I’ll try to swatch them in person when I have the chance to go to a counter.
In my opinion... "most" influencers are saying they are fabulous. Regular people are saying they are ok. I think the influencers want the future PR. Yeah, I said it. I don't see them as anything special than what I already have.
I always role my eyes when beauty content creators say “this is my job” when talking about their RUclips channels. Nope. Not a job. Let’s call it what it is: trying to get strangers on the Internet to fund your shopping. It’s also a huge turn off when they scold viewers for watching without subscribing and talking about how hard they worked to make their videos and edit. Thanks for not being like that.

I think I know whom you’re referencing and I’ve done the same thing for the same reason

Oh I missed that video by Rebecca. I’m going to watch it now. Thanks

Oh thanks a lot for your comment! ❤️
I agree. Im waiting for better reviews as people buy Patrick Tas duos. Especially during the Sephora sale
I hope they’ll restock for VIBs and BIs. Currently the duos are mostly sold out
There’s always something new and exciting around the corner.
Good decision thank you for this.

Yes indeed, I definitely closed my pc and avoided the impulse to buy the duos. Thanks dear 😘

Yeah, silver + gold is so lazy of a pairing. I will just wait for now. Let me know what you think of the taupe duo 😘

Wise decision. Is there really anything new😂? Thank you for being discerning, not impulsive. ❤

Go see Lauren Mae beauty. She has arm. Swatches in day light.
Thanks! I knew it was a matter of time! Now we’re going to see these duos everywhere 🤣
