This was one expensive comparison video! 🙊 thank you so much for taking one for the team, glad to see you review these because hardly anyone else compared them to such a varied range of price points, accessibility options and indie offerings Pluuuuuuuus you’re the queen of shiny, shifty, sparkly so who else could give us the truest veredict?!✨👑❤️
Thank you so much Milly, for swatching and comparing against such a variety of other singles and palette shades. Patrick Ta's duos are pretty, but I don't need, *need* them rn. All the angles in your close ups are invaluable and turns out my wallet is safe from Still at the Club, which isn't a deep as Bear by Glaminatrix. I'm happy with the level of sparkle when their 'Sparkle Metallic' finish singles are sheered out. Thank you again 🫶🏻💎✨
When I hear Patrick Ta, I hear mould issues. I happily buy wet-look shadows from Urban Decay, Chantecaille, PMG, Bobbi Brown, etc, but Patrick's brand doesn't have the reputation to match that pricing imo.
I didn’t have mold issues in my palette but that was not a good look for them for sure. Im sure they figured it out and it won’t be an issue again as it can really be bad for reputation
They look so pretty in the pan but for me I would never need these. From what I see from every video is they don’t shine nearly as good as indie formulas, so for me the price point is not worth it for me nor would I ever use these 😂 I was curious like you, but I feel like I have better sparkly neutral shades. Great video Milly! Now I def know I don’t need them lol ur the best 😊
I bought 2 of the PT duos, but I was wanting someone to do a video comparing indie shadows as I felt indie would be the most comparable. Thank you so much for doing this and thank you to your poor eyelids sacrifice.
We Need Better Lighting caught my eye, but honestly, these aren’t on my radar until they’re on Sephora’s sale page. They’re beautiful, but they don’t scream $42 and various indie brands have already made them at much more affordable prices. And really, once on the eyes, you won’t be able to tell there are small differences. MBA cosmetics recently put out some very sparkly shades that compete with these and oden’s eye and Glaminatrix has a collection of sparkly shades.
You have sealed the fate of whether or not I should make this purchase. I was ambivalent and my gut instincts was kinda overriding my curiosity on the longevity on my hooded eyes and whether this would be suited as a topper or stand alone. Also when I visited Sephora to swatch with certain expectations, the products was not on par with indie eyeshadows. 💜 Thank you
Omg the topshop shadows were my absolute favorite! Definitely inspired to pull them out of my drawer now! The gogo tales one too…thanks so much for your incredibly in depth swatches and comparisons as always!!!
FABULOUS VIDEO. Thank you for all of your hard work, Milly! If the Patrick Ta duo’s are the same formula as the PML special shades, that justifies the price for me.
Awsome job you've done with this video. Here is my maybe unpopular opinion: I would buy these as a gift even for full price, but the issue I have with these and why I am not buying is the formula. Losts of people had issues with his palettes growing mold in the short period of time and that is why I will be shipping these.
Thank you so so much for such good quality swatches and comparisons 💖🙏 I am so pressed about that gorgeous cooltone brown shimmer being with that weird satin 😂
I picked up 3 at launch with a 15% discount. I don't own any PT products so I was nervous on the quality. I have worn 4 out of the 6 shades and I can see and feel differences between them. I was most disappointed with we need better lighting because the top shade felt really scratchy to me. Otherwise, the colors are gorgeous and the sparkle and shine are exactly what I was hoping for. I've been wearing them to work because I'm that person. 😆 I'm happy with my purchase. 💖💖💖
I picked up 'At The Club' and I love it way more than I thought I would. I'll be grabbing a backup of it. 😅😂 The other colors I'm not interested in, but this one is perfect. Great video and comparisons. They are definitely pricey, but that's the market these days. And the one I have is definitely special to me.
The besttt comparison video... Great job.... I already own the PMG moonlit palette so thank you for that comparison... I think I'll wait for the black friday sale and pick up talk to my Team' for the pinks.
Fantastic comparison. I already knew I wasn't going to buy these but seeing the swatches I'm even more convinced I would like what I already have better.
I originally planned on picking up the makeup by Mario palette but I actually think I’ll grab we need better lighting on a sale instead. Amazing review and comparisons! Also I wanted to mention Moira has a palette called a moment with you and it’s around $18 but all the shimmers are neutral in it with tons of multicolored sparkles throughout. You can build them up or sheer them out for a super sparkly look I think it’s a palette you may really like. I get a lot of use out of it so I just wanted to mention it since I don’t see many people talk about it 🥰
I wanted to grab at least one during the Sephora sale but online, they are sold out. I'm going to try and see if they have any in store but I love this for the holidays. New subscriber!
I got the lightest one which was more sheer topper and sparkly. It looks just like the Fenty diamond bomb, but I actually like the way the diamond bomb sparkles and disperses more, as well as the feeling of the diamond bomb. I only got Patrick Ta because I don’t have it overseas
Bottom line from all the various impressions and reviews of these, IMO, is that the backlash against the price doesn't invalidate the fact that they're genuinely beautiful and well-made shadows - but they're also not nearly as unique as Patrick claims. They're not SO one-of-a-kind that you're completely unable to evoke the same vibes from other shadows, expensive or affordable. Ironically, "Still at the Club" is the one shade I'm most drawn to because to me it's the cooler-toned powder version of what I get out of Auric's Smoke Reflect duo in Defiance. I love the soft satin chocolate brown base (which makes a gorgeous subdued smoky eye by itself) underneath the sparkling topcoat; it would make that glitzy silver-taupe shade pop even more, or I could use the darker satin as a liner.
I knew I was sick when I almost threw down 167 dawllahz with shipping to Australia for 4 eyeshadows ...you saved me gurl, you saved meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!😂😂😂😂 I back right the fark out of there!
Thank you for the great and detailed review! ❤❤❤ You cured me of my fomo. I have a couple of the PMG motherships, so I think I am sorted for these types of baked italian special shades. That said - I am a huge fan of indie and do not have anything in my current collection that quite hits that PMG diamond effect. So in a way, getting the Lightning duo from Patrick might be a cheaper way for someone who cannot spend double or triple on a PMG palette to experience the PMG effect. Do I get more compliments on my PMG looks or can anyone else tell if I am wearing indie or PMG? Absolutely not 😂😂😂 PS I did try your recommendation for PMG "near dupes" and got the MBA cosmetics six pan palette. Their shades were a lot more gritty and dry than PMG, and they dried out and fell apart almost right away. I could not save them, though I tried multiple times. My PMG motherships are still intact three years later...
So helpful to see these compared to not just mainstream formulas but indie ones as well! Thank you for your detailed comparisons always, really helps to make more thoughtful buying decisions 🫶🏼🫶🏼
This is a great video. You provided an opinion-free, fact-based presentation. I think Patrick acted like there is no other choice out there. I'm sorry but they are too expensive. I'll stick with my Indie shadows, Colourpop Super Shocks and Elf ones. There is a brand i just learned about, which is Rabanne. They have a little palette with 2 shades in a metal tin with a mirror, and the shades are as gorgeous as the Patric Ta's. The cost is $25, but I got mine new and unused from Mercari for $7.
Thank you for these comparisions, I was initially interested in buying one of the patrick ta duos, but i was waiting for your review specificly because you are the queen of sparkly special eyeshadows in my opinion!! 😊 i will maybe pick one up if there would be a discount sometime but otherwise i just stick to my indie. thank you again for so many comparisions!
Patrick Ta is priced more equivalent to a luxury brand, as it is!!! Patrick Ta is NOT an Indie, so the price point will always be different. With that being said, u as well is a luxury swatcher. Fantastic comparisons and great video! I LOVE Patrick, but my Indie shine and sparkle is of course a favorite! Most Indie brands are a bit steep as well. ❤❤❤
ive tried these as a friend of mine has the, and you have the best comment for me as well, its not even about the money its JUST bc my clionadh sparkly shades my God even my colour pop has THE SAME shades but even more sparkly and buttery camon now this is crazy i would NEVER buy these either
I'm sooo glad you picked these up!! Do you know who I am & still at the club are for sure the ones I'd pick up if I were to get any. However, do you know who I am is too warm for my preference & still at the club I'm not a fan of the satin. Instead I built myself my own version using tm mocha twilight & carbon. It's fantastic 🤌✨

It's an awesome job I think the same, I prefer my indie brands for eyeshadows.
Indie brands are ahead of the game in my opinion 😮💨
@badtothebrow I completely agree. And I feel so sad that doesn't have the hype that they deserve.
@@kaylebellamy6754 Honestly I'm happy the stuff already goes sold out too quickly LOL
You always do the best comparisons! Ty!
Thank you❤❤
This video was very soothing to my magpie brain. So many sparklies. ✨🤤✨
✨✨
Your swatches are 🧑🍳 💋
And your comparisons are spot on!
Thank you!

You are so good at showing shadows close up, in different lighting, etc. Thanks for an informative video!

absolute best review on PT's duos. you really know your stuff! especially the way you describe the subtle differences!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Great review ....thank you 🙏🏽

Wow that is a detailed showing and comparison. Thank you so much to compare it to the indie shadows, too. 😊
This is such a thorough review.
❤️
I am really loving the super close ups you’ve been doing!❤❤
Glad you like them! Helpful feedback!
Such a thorough review! I love your nail polish color, btw.
It’s Carousel from Shleepolish!
I'm happy with the face palette frome last year and it was a better price point.
I picked up 3 at launch with a 15% discount. I don't own any PT products so I was nervous on the quality. I have worn 4 out of the 6 shades and I can see and feel differences between them. Thanks for the comparisons❤

Indies have my heart, that is all 😅

I’m so impressed you got them all to compare for us!!! That is the best review on these shadows so far! Thank you thank you. ❤❤❤
I will not be buying these but I am curious about your review. I trust you as the authority on all things sparkly!!
❤️ thank you for watching!
I prefer my indie brands and I certainly have more variety on hand. Thank you for the expert comparisons and swatches ❤ Your opinion is golden
Thank you for this video!! So so helpful to see these compared to indie shadows

Would have loved to see comparisons to the satin in still at the club. Some of us girlies love a satin, especially brown!
I don’t care for satin eyeshadows so I don’t have anything to compare to it really 🙈
Love your comparisons Millie!!!
Thanks so much for this video!! I have a lot of indie shadows and you talked me out of Pat McGrath AND Patrick Ta! 😂
I wanted to grab at least one during the Sephora sale but online, they are sold out. I'm going to try and see if they have any in store but I love this for the holidays. New subscriber!
Picked up the we need better lighting duo on sale and glad that was the one I got! Loved that you swatched all of them, super helpful!
I’m honestly shocked these sold out? Of course they are pretty but in my option they aren’t unique enough especially for 40 plus bucks.
Im surprised as well, I wonder if they will be “back in stock” when the Sephora sale is over
@ ohhhhh. Yupppp. That’s a thought. It’s a good thought too

Waiting on
Was hoping for your review to know i dont need these based on the comparisons not to mention the price point for 2 shadows is silly for me

WOW! You have sparkle shadows from so many brands. Have you ever tried the luxe shadows from Bobbi Brown?
I haven’t! But I would like to for sure 😍
@ You totally should, they’re beautiful! 💖
❤
Very pretty product BUT I would never pay that price. 😊
Milly, where did seekingshifts go?? 😭😭😭
Thank you best comparison. Ordered one but wanted like 2 more but I see that they are not worth it
Try the one you got first and then you’ll know if you want the others
First!
👏
Ok. I have Kiko mettalic single eyeshadows and they rock. These... do not.
I had the gold one a few years ago, it was pretty but not this sparkly
I will say all of these are bake
$42.00. Is Patrick Ta feeling alright?!

Pretty, but pretty bland
I don't like these. They are too textured and emphasize creases in the lid. Thanks for saving me money.
