I 100% agree. I'd save in other places to get the $$$ together for that Danessa palette if it were neutral with just a few brighter but wearable pops of color. To be able to put it in the pouch and take it for travels would be sssoooo convenient. I hope she comes out with it in the same packaging ❤❤
I saw the Danessa Myricks at Sephora a few days ago. I had never seen one of her palettes in person before. I was BLOWN AWAY by the packaging! Just incredible. The color story is not my style at all, but if she did it in muted more neutral tones, would buy in a heartbeat!💯

I mean, neutrals doesn’t have to be boring like a lot of people think. I seriously want beige, taupe, gray, brown, mauve, soft rose, earthy green sparkles, duochromes and triochromes from Danessa in this exact concept for a palette. I want more wearable but still exciting options from her because not everyone wears blues, greens, pinks and purples like these in Lightworks. For example Byredo did a great job with Mineralscapes palette with its soft, desaturated colorstory.
I have the Icy Nude palette in my everyday makeup kit! I’m loving it! I agree about the DM palette. Genius packaging but the colors are to bright for me. I would love a neutral palette in that packaging!

I broke down and got Roxa during the Sephora sale. Nothing but compliments with my green eyes! Using Rephr brushes allows me to build up slowly so I can go light for daytime to sparkly at night. I’m more impressed than I expected given I’m more used to neutrals.
My favourite is the ND Roxa palette, I love pinks and shimmers, the purples are cool too. I so also like the large Pat palette for how colourful it is, and the ABH sugar palette but that seems like a min cosmos which I already have, so I only plan on buying the ND Roxa

Mario is 2 Huda is 3 ND warm is 4, ND Roxa is 5, one of the PM quints is 6. I think those are the only ones I’ve tried. But DM blew…..me…..away this year! I WILL find a way to incorporate more color.😅😅😅
Me too! I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. It makes my green eyes pop of course but I’m into softer makeup typically. I can achieve that daytime look with Roxa or go bolder for holiday outings. Very versatile. It’s just that most reviews look way bolder than I normally wear so I was nervous about spending on it.
I am loving the Danessa palette! I get so creative with all the different colours and textures whereas neutral palettes kind of bore me if I’m being honest. I think there’s an over saturation of neutral and nude palettes. BUT I am a working makeup artist so I do need those practical and artistry driven palettes for different looks.
I love this video 🥰 haha Just in case anyone is interested in the dior celestial purple… I love it!!! It has beautiful colors that blend beautiful. The dark blue and dark cranberry have deep pigment that’s does blend well. Some of the lighters shades are not as pigmented but very fairy like.
See the Danessa palette is 🎉 for me!! It’s GORGEOUS!!! I can see how it is not for everyone but her glitters and shimmers are sooooo far above everyone else’s so I will always buy every Lightwork palette!!
I’m really happy to see the Huda Beauty Icy Nude palette in the top, because I bought it during the sale at my local Kohl’s over the Make up by Mario palette, and I LOVE it
I was one of those wanting a fun palette from ND, so I grabbed the Roxa. Tbh I was worried about if it would be more pink than purple. But I happened to love it. You can indeed get some wearable looks that for my skin tone happened to be very flattering. I love it!

I’m just over Pillow Talk eyeshadow stories although I feel the palette is prettier in person than it appears on camera. I, too, love the Icy Nude palette and Mario’s Moonlight palette.

I only bought ABH Sugar palette. I am kinda over big palettes, but the pressure is on for HB Icy nude I might end up buying Ensley Reigns Underworld since there is nothing like it in my collection, but it is expensive.
AHAHA Right as you did the Windows black screen YT cut to a commercial, perfection. Dior Backstage is the only one I got! I like pigmentation but I swatched it and walked around all day and liked it, and I just adore the color story. And have to admit my skin is mature now 🙈 That said, Mario, ND, and Huda (in that order) are still tempting me, but the wallet and makeup drawer can't support all that. In all three cases I feel like I can probably duplicate the color story across what I already have, and I'm worried about reviews the Huda glitters are too chunky. But each of them have such lovely formulas compared to the stuff I have that's cheaper I sort of wish I'd not gotten the cheaper stuff and saved to invest in these, but you can't know until they come out if you want them. That said, your blue smoky look with Mario is what put that on my radar! I'd heard mixed reviews about the formula being meh, but that look was so stunning! And this one today - I'm a color lover but I'm really specific about it - not too bright, not super glittery - the DM never even tempted me - but blues, pinks, purples and greens in sort of "neutral value" shades and I love the ND wet look metallic shimmer formula for payoff and interest over a glitter any day. So we'll see what the holiday sales are if I get Mario or ND. (I live in Canada and she's hard to come by, shipping is painful.) Also hi! Danessa Myricks, if it was a neutral colour story, it would be for me, number 1, and worth every penny as long as she didn't get cocky and greedy by putting her price up, fabulous concept. I'm definitely buying Huda Ice Palette and the Ethereal Palette. Even though I probably said I wouldn't, I am. But a no to the ND Purple Palette it's just too pink for me if it had more black based purple like aubergine and dark purple glimmer or glitter, great but no its a pass for me on that one. I have the Tarte 3-palette holiday set & love it. The colors are gorgeous & perfect for a cool-toned lover. There are also some warm golds. The pinks are beautiful. It's a fantastic deal for $55, imo.

I purchased the Makeup by Mario Master Mattes - Neutral Palette yesterday, I considered the MBM Master Mattes - Original Palette but I prefer the color range in the Neutrals Palette. I don’t use eyeshadow everyday, but I used it today, the quality was very good and selecting shades was simple. I added Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder to my brow bone as I felt a little shimmer/glow was needed. As information, I am not a shadow expert by any means, I have a fair/light complexion with dark hair and eyes and mature, but well cared for skin.
PURPLE has been my FAVORITE color since I was a little girl! Lol. 💜💜💜 I'm not going to share my age, but I was named after my Great Grandmother, Bonnie. Her favorite color was purple as well. Mind you, I was very young when she passed. Maybe 5 or 6?? Anyway, 🤪 I really, REALLY want this palette! 💜💜 But I have so many, and I work at a dog rescue/shelter. So I RARELY wear a full face of makeup. 😩 Lol. It’s funny how for me everything is opposite to your ranking. Huda palette is nice but every color looks similar and it’s too grey, and Huda’s quality, although nice, has never been my favorite, same for make up by mario. Danessa myricks palette is super cool, maybe I would rank it top 1 but pat mcgrath is still superior quality to me compared to all others. I don’t think anything I’ve ever tried compares to pat mcgrath quality and I always end up disappointed. Natasha Denona is a close second and the roxa palette wins over pat this year only because I love purple 😅

That icy nude palette is gorgeous but I think I really want cold moon from Ensley reign more 😭. And they’re too similar for me to justify getting both.
I figured Mario would come in #1. I have severe FOMO, as usual 😂 because I have to spend all of my extra money on Christmas shopping for my dang family 🙄😂.
I only think the Danessa Myricks is worth it for people who don’t have a lot of indie multichromes. I wish she would come out with like little 6 pan palettes to purchase- then u could better utilize the purpose of it.
Well, I'm so on the fence here, because I love multichromes like what Danessa Myricks gives us...but I have flatter almond shaped hooded lids. Therefore, I don't see all the gorgeous dimensions in my own eyes. That said, I do have Lightworks V and would rather have this year's Lightworks version. Sadly, even though I really, really want Huda's LAST 18 panner, I really don't look so great in true silver eyeshadow because despite my eye shape, they are a sea-foam/teal with some antique gold flecks in the iris. Purples, warmer or taupey neutrals, and greens look best on me personally.
What was Danessa's response to your suggestion? Would love to see a different color story in that packaging too!!! Totally agree with your #1. LOVE all your videos and shorts!!! You always look amazing!! . . . and love your sense of humor too.
I'm just glad we're talking about eyeshadow palettes! 🎊 The elephant in the room is that we didn't get a Mothership, but if they couldn't drop a good new one this year, maybe it was a wise decision to hold off.🐘 I'm enjoying Roxa, waiting for the DM to be delivered.💜 I will sometimes use a matte from PT MD III or ND INAN to anchor the colourful palettes, but I agree that a DM neutrals palette in that packaging would be great. I have dupes for the rest of this list, several times over, but I might still be tempted by the MBM & some of the Patrick Ta duos at some point. Love your lewk here, xo! 😘
Fun video Morgan! Your top 2 I agree but disagree with the rest. The Pat palette has a lot of color variety and quality made in Italy. Roxa is boring pink (remember Metropolis?! That was a holiday palette! and Danessa is a perfect companion palette
I only have the Danessa Myricks Lightwork 6 palette out of your list. To me Roxa looks like a mostly pink palette with 6-7 purple shades, the purple background fools the eye. Try covering up the purples and its mostly pinky shades. Not too many main brand eye shadow palettes interested me in 2024. Indie brands took my money.

Danessa does have 2 neutral palettes, they're just not stackable like this one. I hope she repackages the others and makes a cool toned neutral too.

It’s funny how for me everything is opposite to your ranking. Huda palette is nice but every color looks similar and it’s too grey, and Huda’s quality, although nice, has never been my favorite, same for make up by mario. Danessa myricks palette is super cool, maybe I would rank it top 1 but pat mcgrath is still superior quality to me compared to all others. I don’t think anything I’ve ever tried compares to pat mcgrath quality and I always end up disappointed. Natasha Denona is a close second and the roxa palette wins over pat this year only because I love purple 😅

That icy nude palette is gorgeous but I think I really want cold moon from Ensley reign more 😭. And they’re too similar for me to justify getting both.

I only think the Danessa Myricks is worth it for people who don’t have a lot of indie multichromes. I wish she would come out with like little 6 pan palettes to purchase- then u could better utilize the purpose of it.

Well, I'm so on the fence here, because I love multichromes like what Danessa Myricks gives us...but I have flatter almond shaped hooded lids. Therefore, I don't see all the gorgeous dimensions in my own eyes. That said, I do have Lightworks V and would rather have this year's Lightworks version. Sadly, even though I really, really want Huda's LAST 18 panner, I really don't look so great in true silver eyeshadow because despite my eye shape, they are a sea-foam/teal with some antique gold flecks in the iris. Purples, warmer or taupey neutrals, and greens look best on me personally.
I have only Sugar mini palette from ABH and I Think,it's very pretty and usufull.

I'm just glad we're talking about eyeshadow palettes! 🎊 The elephant in the room is that we didn't get a Mothership, but if they couldn't drop a good new one this year, maybe it was a wise decision to hold off.🐘 I'm enjoying Roxa, waiting for the DM to be delivered.💜 I will sometimes use a matte from PT MD III or ND INAN to anchor the colourful palettes, but I agree that a DM neutrals palette in that packaging would be great. I have dupes for the rest of this list, several times over, but I might still be tempted by the MBM & some of the Patrick Ta duos at some point. Love your lewk here, xo! 😘
Fun video Morgan! Your top 2 I agree but disagree with the rest. The Pat palette has a lot of color variety and quality made in Italy. Roxa is boring pink (remember Metropolis?! That was a holiday palette! and Danessa is a perfect companion palette
I'm a little sad that PM didn't release another one of her small palettes. I have the two that she has released, and I love them!

Hey Morgan! Roxa is purple is Portuguese...you pronounce the x as Sh
I only have the Danessa Myricks Lightwork 6 palette out of your list. To me Roxa looks like a mostly pink palette with 6-7 purple shades, the purple background fools the eye. Try covering up the purples and its mostly pinky shades. Not too many main brand eye shadow palettes interested me in 2024. Indie brands took my money.
Danessa, you hear them. We need spicy neutrals in this format and mattes.
