I fucking love you underbelly. Every time I watch your vids, I learn something new and you blend it perfectly with comedy. You should be a certified Ableton teacher honestly.
true
certified ableton teacher can suck uncle joe's foot, this videos are genius
i love hearing my name in your videos hahaha
you're a dingus, derek.
When he says “Derek’s shit drums” it always makes me laugh
How was your piano recital?
I did not know you could draw a line to contour velocity like that. WTF? 5 freaking years of individually click and dragging each note. I'm upset.
30 ON MY WRIST AND ON MY NECK
You suck at producing.
@@Zach-lw5ii That's why you read the manual.
lowkey caught me offguard
AAAAAH mee too...
Underbelly literally just crying on top of a soft beat is still better than most of the music I’ve heard from 2019. Good work.
So 1st off lets add a little release "So that it doesn't cut off so abruptly like my parents financial support" 😂😭💀✊✌
almost spit my coffee out on that line, lmao
that's what you get for not reading the manual, all 1,000,000 pages of it
Is it just me or is this a ridiculously common occurrence? This genuinely happened to my sister for her dad and me for mine. Sister's dad blackmailed my mom and took off so she wouldn't go after him
Mikeureko what’s common? Adults paying for their own shit instead of mom and daddy? Yeah welcome to the rest of the works😂😂
World
I actually enjoyed Derek's first piano recital. But that was back when I had feelings.
This will never not be funny
Probably my favorite episode, not only was it quite informative but the sub-story was so moving
I love the cut mid-cry at the end lmfao
I love how you primarily use default Live instruments and effects for the tutorials. I'm a noob so I always resorted to messing with random knobs on serum but that can load up my CPU pretty quick. These vids help get awesome sounds without stutteringn balls. Love em :)
how the heck does it go from "early noughties ringtone" to "hook of a song they actually play in hot topic"...pure skill
I like how this video takes a simple sound and discusses the shaping of it. The better we can shape existing sounds the fewer new sounds we need to install. Now all I need is a video that shows how Ableton can make me forget about the existence of Hot Topic.
RUclips captions say: "okay so jacket" 0:35.
All my life is a lie.
Mixing knowledge plus dry as fuck humor = pure gold
Everyone join this gentleman's Patreon so he can get a god damn haircut.
Give him more money to grow it out long.
What's wrong with his hair lol
It looks trimmed but I'll lend my support only because it looks like he's trimming it himself.
Why do you give a shit about this dudes hair 😂😂
priorities bro priorities. gear ain't cheap.
“When a Piano-Player-Plays” lmao love this style of learning
The best no-nonsense how to make music videos out there. Thanks, Underbelly, for reminding us all that we suck.
Bruh, the first 20 seconds alone beat 4 years of any music related studies
This made me want to go to hot topic. wowzers
That velocity contour trick......whoa dude. You done changed the game!
This was an amazing video, you really outdid yourself in this one bellyboy. Wowzers.
Just discovered your channel. You kick ass dude. Great audio tutorials but the best part is that you're entertaining as hell. Will continue to tune in just for the laughs and if I learn something along the way, it's just gravy. Keep doing what you're doing!
"Back when I had feelings..." LOL
#RhymingOverBeats Loved that one too xD
Bro, you're a genius. You teach in the best way possible
That's a bangin' chord progression there at the end, i want a full version! totally flips the original vibe of the melody
I'm trying to figure out which chords they are, they sound really dreamy! Sadly, I legitimately do suck at producing and it isn't really working so far...
@@EctoMorpheus To be fair it's pretty hard to hear over his wails.
Sounds like Am7 . . . FM7 loop
I genuinely hope for the success you deserve my friend. Keep that light shining bright!
Rly good example of how multiple, mostly subtle changes can make such a dramatic difference. Big lesson for me today. Also, the sneaky beat started not where I thought the "one" was? Awesome. Such express
Once again simple, brilliant stuff. Whenever I can afford it you'll be the first person ever I support on Patreon.
You fucking deserve it, Underbelly. Keep it real. Hugs and kisses
This is fucking an awesome tutorial. This morning I held back from starting my arrangement, loaded a load of Underbelly tutorials into a playlist that I thought might be wise to watch before jumping head first into improving my track. I am so glad I did as I wouldn't have discovered this fantastic tutorial, and also my own wisdom. Thank you, this is really eye / ear opening.
Summary: Make your sounds more Life like, make them evolve on a macro and micro level
-Adding More release so it doesnt cut off so abrutly.
-Adding a little attack to remove some click
Reducing release to make it more life Like.
Things sound realistic and life like because they have dynamics.
Make soubds velocity sensitive.
Cntrl and draw aumation line.
Use the velocity to modulate paramters so some notes have slightly different wave forms than others Modulate the oscilator. Try maybe modulating a filter.
Allow the velocity to mess with the Unison amount or even just draw in and automate other effects like reverb.
The automation line blew my mind after 6 years of Ableton use
This is my favorite video of yours now
this channel is the best! You learn about production and also laugh
Nice! I really liked the final result!
very insightful! thanks man :)
I love your vids dude!
This man is amazingly funny and musicly smart, so I get to laugh and learn at the same. perfect combination.🤟🏾
melody sounds like a stock phone ringtone
jesus this is fast becoming my fav you tube channel...im v interested in ableton but the added humour is so funny...."back when i had feelings" rofl...
Hilarious and informative as always! Back when I had feelings 😆
This guy has surprisingly taught me a lot in a short amount of time
Very kool, Kanye. Thank you.
Dude, that transition at 5:41 is so genius. I mean it.
“Let’s add some release so it doesn’t cut off so abruptly… like my parent’s financial support” omg deaddd 💀💀💀
When you have a melody with a very dramatic note that's held slighlt longer, add some vibrato, it increases the emotion in just a single note by many times! Try it someday
amazing in all ways
That final beat is so damn cool!
Yo your style of teaching is perfect
Wonderful video underbelly my daughter and I loved it as always much respect from canmore ps the live drum sampling is going great and I m almost ready for another sesh
Just watched this again and ya my daughter came over took a look and smiled.
I love this!
love you man
dude that tip for automating the velocity SAVED my life
Love it! You're hilarious
Just like uncle joe expressed himself every chrismas evening
Im done
ok...I really love the drums in this
lolz. I luv u. learning a lot in your vids
Man you're awesome!
Yooo this one was realllyyyy good
I like it when song intros fuck with my expectations of the downbeat.
Man that drop was woooooooooowwwwww, cheers man!
Long time ago I used to watch a couple of Simpsons episodes before I sleep. It was vital for a proper sleep. Now I switched on Underbelly
Sounds like a beautiful signature song for a phone company 😅🎉
this video made me feel wowzers
The crying is always so good x""D
Emotions has been felt.
damn it grooved with those drums
The more videos of you I watch the funnier they get
Also, is it possible to connect velocity change with amp decay, amplitude, etc. in other plugins such as Massive or Serum or even other Ableton synths like you did with Ableton’s wavetable?
I love this video
i'm still here getting mixed feelings from the end of this video
I feel like this doesnt get said enough, but I really appreciate your thumbnailz 💅🏻
Man, you fckn awesome!
Wowzers!
5:29 "Ooooohohoo hahhhha jjjeeezas is just wananna atoat oa aoaooooohhhohho AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH". Underbelly.
Come on duuude! This is awesome.
Always great, Underbelly. I really think you should wear a blazer or smoking jacket to dial in the persona! Beautiful either way tho :)
hahahah that first emotionless melody/patch
Important vid!
Thank God for have You
5:45 perfect comedic timing hahahahahaha
Man you are a package.❤
Thx for all your vids!
I still suck, but you made me a little bit bearable.
Greetings from Germany, also to Uncle Joe!
I love you man😍😍😍
Command line is my new hero - can't believe what a dingus I was to not know this
wowzers!!!
Holy shit. That was sweet
5:20 I died lol
fucking genious
Wowzers
I got into the bad habit of liking your videos before i even watch it
Is there a full version of this song?
you are the best
Anyone know how you can have the velocity link to decay filters etc. in flstudio? I never thought of this
6X3CXT just here waiting for someone who knows haha
I mainly use massive and you can control pretty much any parameter with velocity straight in the box.
@@adamnygren5280 How?
Depends on what plugin you use.
Underbelly remembering Hot Topic sounds suspiciously like when he was getting high. Coincidence?
WOWSERS
Are you still doing lessons? I didn't see it on the Patreon page, but I am also new to all this, so it could be user error.
I suscribe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how can i do those things in fl studio?? especially the unison thing
I never been shopping at Hot Topic.
This is a funny one
Anyway to do this without using waiverable? Would envelope midi work?
Lol no one wants a pair of jeans that bad. Too funny!!!
"Back when I have feelings" XD
Do you get your sandwiches at the underdeli?
