You could say that at first glance, but take a good look at it. Nicky and Victor would have been favorites with Pena at ADCC. Nicky Rod beat Pena last ADCC, and has beaten both Luke and Big Dan since. Not to mention several of the other over 88kg CJI competitors left their ADCC bracket for CJI. Other than maybe Kaynan and Pena, the over 88 bracket was just as competitive as any of the ADCC brackets 88 and above. I mean even Max Gimenis smashed big Dan very recently.

I hate that everyone gives gordon a pass for fucking his own stomach up by injecting hgh for 5 years.
In JIU-JITSU we are all hurt, injured and have health problems. Stop feeling sorry for some rich kid who gets to train all day and has never had a 9 to 5 job. Some of the guys he beats are full time employees at some jobs and full time parents. Some dudes have cancer and other problems.I dont hear anyone making excuses except gordon. When its his own fault. When you take short cuts in life, you reap the consequences.
Weird how he never had these problems 6 years ago.

Great video sir.. I agree that Gordon dominated the match but with ADCC rule set, it shouldn't have been so high of a score.. Gordon entered and re-entered his foot in the hip area to rack up points which IMO shouldn't have been such a high score. He definitely dominated the match but I think with the technically in the scoring point system, shouldn't have been so high.. he's definitely going to have his hands full next Super Fight with Kanen Duarte. I think Kanen Duarte will give him a run for his money in 2026 or if he accepts Nicky Rodriguez offer to fight for a million dollars. Yes he did best Nicky Rod a few years ago but Nicky has gotten way better than last match

Not to take away from Gordon, because I do believe he's the best grappler on the planet, he did game the system to get most those 21 points. He simple moved one leg from mount to half guard and back over and over while he was in a dominant position. He would have won the match on points anyway, but it would have been more like a 6-0 or 9-0 without him racking up points by gaming the half guard to mount and back. (Again, I'm not bashing on Gordon. He used the rules to his advantage and fair play to him. I'm just pointing out a fact and possibly a flaw in the scoring system in ADCC.)

So I can agree with the majority of what Uncle Chael is saying on a technical fall type of situation. But in submission grappling there is always that small chance of the losing competitor getting that sub. Example, when my son was 7 years old he was getting destroyed by his opponent. He was down 12-0, coach yells out “there is 30 seconds left, you have to submit him”. My boy nods his head and grabs a belly down arm bar down to the buzzer and wins. Everyone watching around the mats went bonkers. Just saying, it happens.
