I struggle with under eye. I read that if you double hydrate your under eye, leave to soak then go in with an eye primer under the eye that can help! And it truly did! I followed the instructions to the letter. Instead of using my No 7 powder I sprayed the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray into a sponge and gently tapped it in! I was super pleased that it lasted all day until I got home from work! 👍
Spraying a sponge with setting spray and tapping in the powder was a super super game changer for me! I have also learned to slightly turn up the ends of false lashes to keep these 58 year old eyes from drooping downward.
@annabelperkins thank you very much for sharing your experience! I will definitely try it . Can you please recommend some eye primer? Thank you very much in advance!
Also before you set, use a tissue to softly press under the eye to whisk away any dampness that leads. To creases see Wayne Goss tutorial. About this and Risa is dead on with putting primer under eye as well. These are great helper tips from Risa the Pro
You influenced me to buy and try the Wet Wild serum I’ve been using it daily for a month or so . I have older skin and dry under-eyes. It’s already making a big difference. I kept buying all sorts of concealers and none ever worked because my skin was so crapy dry . I have definitely seen a difference. But you have to be consistent. I’m really really happy with this inexpensive serum. Thanks Risa ❤️
@@kcloveonaleash Be patient and good luck 🌹 I use it once in the morning if I’m wearing concealer which most days I do . I give it a few minutes to sink into my skin . Before I apply the concealer. Then right before I go to bed at night . As part of my night routine. I wish I had tried a serum so much sooner . I would have saved so much $ on all sorts of “ hydrating “ concealers’ 😩
Concealer shade selection hack: try it on your inner wrist over your veins. Most people are a shade or two lighter on the underside of their wrist and a good match should blend in and cover your veins seamlessly.
I have extremely dry skin (I’ll be 69 in less than two months) so hydrating is a very serious part of my skin prep. I’m obsessed with Colleen Rothschild’s Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream about twenty minutes before I begin makeup. It’s perfection!
That sub count is climbing. Yes !! Congrats. This is helpful. It all changed for me even when I hit 60, now almost 63 in March , and even now it’s different. Helpful tips. I don’t use concealer under eye. I actually do inside of eye by nose A little below and i bring it up .With a fluffy brush DO NOT DRAG OR SWIPE. DAB. OR FLUFFY BRUSH. ALSO less is more. Ha
Even if a person doesn’t do the triangle thing under the eye, I have to say, most of the people I watch still put too much concealer on! You don’t need that much. Go at least a swipe less. You can always go a little lower under the eye with a finishing powder if you need some brightness. The concealer and corrector should be only what you need in the very area you need it - not halfway down the cheek.
Hi Risa! 47 year old with oily skin but dry under eyes. I’ve been using the Wet & Wild serum since you recommended it! I love it. I’ve also started using Elensilia Anti-Wrinkle Multi Balm Stick from Amazon. I use it before concealer and then during the day to touch up crepey skin. It’s been a great product. I have one in my makeup kit and one in my purse.
Thank you Risa!! That was so helpful! I've always been confused how to apply concealer and all the proper steps before and after! Can you do a foundation video as well? Thanks again!❤
Everything you have mentioned makes sooo much sense now let’s see if I can do Just started trying a color corrector and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong something it doesn’t look right it looks better before I did the corrector, but I’m trying to hide the corner darkness under my eyes
Risa: I love Tarte Shape Tape & even though it's thick & creamy, I use a tiny sponge but I wet the sponge so it's damp, therefore it smooths it out some, but I still get the benefits of the product!😘
Often, I'll do my makeup a few hours after skin care so that Wet N Wild primer has been a great tip to add about 5 min before concealer! Thank you Risa!
I needed this video! Thank you ❤ I watched it Friday night while multitasking. But Saturday morning I tried to remember what you said. I used my finger to blend in concealer after letting it sit for a bit after applying it. Wow! That in itself was a huge help! I bought the Angie BK Beauty concealer brush after all the reviews. I will have I should have saved my money. My fingertip worked so much better! I also applied some setting powder with an eyeshadow brush. I couldn’t think of anything else. I did use high end concealer. But will definitely try with my drug store kind too.

Great video Risa 😊 I’ve used an eye balm by Kjaer Weis for years and it’s a miracle in a little pot for hydrating the under eyes before makeup. It’s called The Beautiful Eye Balm…it’s pricey but I took a chance on it when it was recommended by Nikol and I’m so glad I did. My 52 year old under eyes love it ❤
Great tips, Risa! I've watched your videos for several years now, and you are always "spot on" and helpful! I'm 68 and especially tuned in to your suggestions for mature eyes and skin! Thank you for giving it to us straight!
I’m using that Kiehl’s avocado eye cream with a touch of hyaluronic acid serum, then apply that Wet N Wild primer after….wow, my under eyes look better and the extra hydration plumps out fine lines beautifully. Thank you! I’ve gotten a CO2 ablative laser treatment done last month but it didn’t tighten up the loose skin under my eyes (done 5 TCA chemical peels last year too). This makeup hack really helped! I was getting so frustrated with using concealer under my eyes, I never had to use it there before but with age, my blue veins are popping through the thin skin.

In trying to find a concealer that works for me, I ended up with some thicker ones that just made me look dry and older. Of course I don’t want to waste them so in playing around, I found I can mix just a bit of eye cream with it and it solves that problem.

Hi there! When it comes to videos like this where I’m teaching a technique, it really isn’t important what products you use or how much they cost. This is one of the reasons the great make up artist Kevyn Aucoin would never share the actualproducts he used. He didn’t want people to be so focused on that part of it. He wanted people to focus solely on the shades and techniques he used.
I don’t have darkness under they eye, it’s actually very light there and it’s because I wear glasses. I am very wrinkly under the eye, what would you suggest? Thank you for your videos they are very informative 🤟🏼
Hi Risa. Congrats on reaching 400K! I liked this video for the hints about eye concealers. I checked for Catrice but so far, was not able to find it in Canada. I'll keep on looking to see if I can find it somewhere. 💕
I get confused and overwhelmed about the difference and purposes for under eye brightener, color correcter, concealer as well as the correct order of use with foundation. Which goes on first, second, third, etc.
Do I see a little silver patch peaking through your hairline where it swoops from your right to left? Looks amazing! Are you thinking of incorporating some natural color? I think it would be stunning. Thanks for the concealer roundup. One of my favorite topics. I need all the help. All of it!
Ok Risa I have a different under eye I haven’t see you do. I have no dark circles but extremely puffy eyes how do I do this make up .TY love watching you.Ps I do under eye patches
I always learn so much from you - thank you ☺️💕. Another great eye cream ( IMO lol) is the YesTo Avacado….. super creamy and hydrating. Plays well with others and super affordable:) Not always easy to find here in Canada but when I can I usually scoop up a few. Xo 🇨🇦
I would, but I am a mixer especially with foundations. I also tend to go darker with my foundations than most people, and studio lighting can throw foundation shades way off.
Thank you for these in-depth videos. Concealer is the hardest for me. I have Sahara dry skin especially under eyes. I am using Maybelline Insta Age Rewind in 110 which is the lightest shade I can find. I have extremely fair skin. They have a pink version, would you advise switching or staying with my shade?

Hi, do you mean you tapped in the concealer, or you tapped in the powder with the damp sponge?
How about a video on making under eye bags less noticeable?
Omg would love to see a video for that!
I'd love that too!!

I get confused and overwhelmed about the difference and purposes for under eye brightener, color correcter, concealer as well as the correct order of use with foundation. Which goes on first, second, third, etc.
Thank you Risa for this helpful video!
Great instructions! Thanks.
Good advice. Ive been doing all of it for the last few years and it definitely helps.
Yes, Risa, thank you for another geat video! You always give super helpful user-friendly tips and recommendations! A true professional!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Do I see a little silver patch peaking through your hairline where it swoops from your right to left? Looks amazing! Are you thinking of incorporating some natural color? I think it would be stunning. Thanks for the concealer roundup. One of my favorite topics. I need all the help. All of it!
You are great explaining the step by step makeup tutorials. Thanks! 💗
400 K. Well done.
Ok Risa I have a different under eye I haven’t see you do. I have no dark circles but extremely puffy eyes how do I do this make up .TY love watching you.Ps I do under eye patches

Great video, Risa! Very informative, and the whole time i was in awe of how lovely you looked, and your concealer looked perfect. ❤
Thanks Risa! Have a great weekend!
I always learn so much from you - thank you ☺️💕.
Another great eye cream ( IMO lol) is the YesTo Avacado….. super creamy and hydrating. Plays well with others and super affordable:)
Not always easy to find here in Canada but when I can I usually scoop up a few.

Hi from Türkiye. I love your video. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Risa, i wish you would include you foundation and concealer matches
I would, but I am a mixer especially with foundations. I also tend to go darker with my foundations than most people, and studio lighting can throw foundation shades way off.
@@RisaDoesMakeup Ok! 😊 That makes sense 💕
400K subscribers! Woohoo! 🙌
