Thanks for the inside look at those Dynaco woofers! The build quality seems to be much better than that of the Larger Advent Speakers of the same time period! I originally thought the Larger Advents were a better speaker, but now, after owning the A25s i'm not so sure. The A25s have such an amazing sound quality. The smoothness through the bass region exemplifies the fact that these were designed by amazing audio engineers!!! Thanks again!!!
A friend gave me his and they worked well up until this morning. I just put a record on and the right one stopped working. Still getting some music through the driver but nothing through the woofer unless I push the woofer in. Would like to have it working because they do sound nice!
are you blowing them up cause the amp doesn't have enough power so its clipping or just overloading them? Usually speakers distort badly before they blow
+Andrew Kilner I believe I am overloading them. Sometimes you can smell the voice coils if you're paying attention instead of enjoying loud music. I haven't taken one apart yet but I suspect that these voice coils are of especially small wire. I suppose they also could be unwinding due to their age and my excessive vibration. Sometimes they feel scratchy when you move the cone.
That's an *Alnico* magnet, unless it's the 25"F"-EW which is Ferrite/ Ceramic and doesn't have the extended screw tabs but normal drilled holes around the inside edge of the frame.
Hy Mechanical Philosopher, i want to build a pair A50. I have a set of speaker kit for dynaco A50 (4 pieces of 25TV-EW 16Ohm and 2 pieces of H87). Do you know the exact size of the internal gap on the separating plate? (I know the external dimensions of box) Thank you any help!
Thank you, this is really a big help to me. Thanks in advance!
Nice collection, would love to find a good deal on the A50 or even A40s. When you replace drivers do you ever find ones without the star-hub mounting rings? Mine were without, and the only ones up for auction were the 8 point star type. I got them anyway and they were fine. You can see my test video here: ruclips.net/video/OsYbrfZXSE8/видео.html
+dustyriversband My A50s came with the round type, but everything I have been able to buy for replacement has had the protruding screw holes. I haven't noticed a difference. Both m y dad's A25s and the ones in my video have the protruding screw holes, and I don't know what my other A25s have as they do not have readily removable grilles and I haven't broken them yet. I think I was lucky to get the idea to buy Dynacos on Ebay when I did. There seems to be less available now at a higher price. Thanks for participating in the RUclips.

Perhaps you could try a stacked pair of A-25's.

Your reply will be finished uploading in a couple hours. ruclips.net/video/IBn06zConEU/видео.html
Get a sub. Cross over the A-25's at 120 hz. Save your speakers.
