Madisound do a new pair of Seas Prestige Seas A26 10" 2-way Kit PAIR (based on the classic Dynaco A25) for $1124.00 here www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/2-way-speaker-kits/seas-a26-10-2-way-kit-pair-based-on-the-classic-a25/
Not heard the A50's, but sure would like to. Think they proberly sound pretty good but at the right price of course. if you do get them then please give your verdict on them.
Bit of a subliminal edit at the start of the show Michael ! "So they pinned up these guys against the wall. ' That certainly got my attention. Can you do another video to let us know what happened please. All the best. JM😂
The port on the 25 is resistive - it’s an aperiodic design. I think it’s a way to increase the bass from a smaller cabinet than would be needed if the port was open. Goodmans used something similar in the 60’s with their mesh and felt covered “ARU” port (acoustic resonance unit).
@@mikesaunders4694 I am suprised that any air manages to get in and out as the wadding around the port seems very thick. I will open them up at somepoint and have a look. I will have a look at Gilbert Briggs Wharfedales as a matter of interest. Thanks again
well it's a slotted port. how much foam in it and how deep is the port, is it just cut out in the face baffle or has it got a channel going back and how far? they look like seas drivers probably are.
I have no idea at the moment about the foam and bass port as all the SEAS drivers are glued in same drivers as the A-35's. When I eventually recap them I will have more of an idea
@@rainroosileht7017 Bass is warmer on the a-25 and a little more detailed. Tighter and a little more punchy on the ditton 15's, the dittons have more of a lively sound but I much prefer the tweeter on these to the dittons, nicer sounding to me. Stereo Review X might be another to ask as I am sure he has had both sets of speakers over time.
I did not like the Dittons they were to rought around the edges for me. These must be much better they seemed to get good reviews by all the comments I see

I feel the love for Dynaco, the sea story was a great bonus. Keep chatting on this old school goodness
Thanks Steve
How’s the A50 ? There’s a pair for sale in my area and thinking to get them.

Thought I'le do a slight different approach
Got it. It relates to robbery story around 16 mins!
Glad you sat through, thanks John

Thanks Mike I should have looked into that before doing the video
@@MichaelYates no problemo….Gilbert Briggs old school Wharfedale speaker cabinet books go into aperiodic loading which is why I knew about it.

How do those compare to Celestion Ditton 15s?
I prefer these, the original ditton15's were just to forward to me and a little shouty
@@MichaelYates What about the bass department?
