      @@Pete217 always the struggle. I felt the same way about buying the fx3 this year. I feel like buying used if you can + monitoring the Sony alpha rumors site regularly then selling a month or two before the a7v is supposed to drop is a good plan of attack

    My a7iv is a great second camera next to my a7rv. Great for receptions and portraits too. The 10fps don't bother me. I still have a Sony A9 and never use 20fps, I prefer 15fps at the most when I use it for fast moving photos. But now I converted my a7iv to a full video rig with follow focus, cine lenses, atomos ninja v, full cage, shotgun mic plus a rode wireless go 2 to do interviews when needed. I've been a truly impressed with the video quality coming out of this camera. It's a great hybrid camera that I plan on using for a while

      Does the A7RV benefit from the extra pixels for APS-C mode or cropping. I've found that crop over 60% even with A7IV Find jpegs and not lose anything.

    I’m planning on getting this camera when it goes on sale next or used primarily for sports(college), is the 10fps a deal breaker? Since only camera on the market for Sony that is fast is the a9iii or A1

    Huge note: if you film in HD 60fps in full frame mode the video quality is horrid. However if you switch to APSC crop the HD footage becomes incredibly good and comparable to this cameras 4K. I’m considering buying an APSC lens for my camera since I end up in crop mode so much for video

      @@slavicprincess When it is uncropped the image is soft with aliasing. However when cropped the footage becomes sharp and the aliasing disappears. It has to do with how the sensor reads out for each mode. In cropped mode it uses the full center of the sensor. In full frame HD it skips every few lines resulting in weird artifacts such as the aliasing.

      There’s better cameras for it. The low fps shooting isn’t ideal.

      Someone had a video about using clips from video too. But maybe the next Gen A7V etc. will have the global shutter. That site 100 frames per second seem like a lot of work to skim though. But worth it for action maybe. @@calincharles

      @calincharles  6 месяцев назад

      @@calincharles I wish they will stop making "hybrid" cameras and only make stills and video cameras.

    • @calincharles
      @calincharles  6 месяцев назад +2

      @@cameraprepper7938 interesting. Why? I do a ton of commercial photo and video work and typically require 2 cameras when I shoot either. So in that event I would need to own 4 cameras (two stills and two video) which would mean on bodies alone I would have to spend $15,000+ just on camera bodies.

      Tho Sony A7R III doesn’t have a big lifespan and its AF is lacking. Since rn Sony A7 IV costs only 1999€ while A7R III is at 1400€ it doesn’t make sense to me. The better low light AF, AF sensor coverage, bigger joystick, fixed shutter

    • @cameraprepper7938
      @cameraprepper7938 2 месяца назад

      @@aspilobo Do not be "a smart ass" to a photographer with 45 years of experience ! For most kind of photography you do NOT need fast AF, in fact you do NOT even need AF !!! The Sony A7RIII does just as good in low light and have the same dynamic range s the A7IV, but you have 42 Megapixels to a lower price than the 33 megapixels A7IV !!! The A7RIII´s lifespan will be longer than the A7IV !!! noob

    Whatever your favourite brand, they are all leapfrogging each other over time, one minute its brand x, the next its brand y. Nikon had a reputation for being a potato over the last few years, last few releases have been fantastic and the Z6 III could be immense. Before that Sony was on the rise.
