However I couldn't make out, does it track steps from the start of the day automatically without the user having to start some kind of activity, like a smartwatch does? And also, is there a watchface that shows the number of steps you have taken through the day, tracking them continuously, like smartwatches do? Thanks in advance.

It should setup automatically when you connect it to the smartphone. It takes the time from there. But maybe there is an option for you to do that. Check the smartphone app.

I have had my Mi band 8 for about 24 hours and I keep getting asked to complete my profile and all it asks for is my weight which I have already done. My move is still at zero and hasn't moved I wonder if it's because it only happens after a few days any suggestions?
You reset the device and do it all over again. It sounds to me like a bug.
How do you change the watch to reg mode in the clock not 24 hour time
When i go for run (for example) i have to take also my phone with me? Or not? Maybe after finish my running automatically transfer data when come close to my phone?
No need to do that. When you come home the mi band will send data to your phone if the Bluetooth is on.
Yes if u want to, but Mi band 8 doesn't support gps tracking.

I don't have it with me but I believe you can do that in the app.

It's a software bug. Try to setup a new alarm at the same time and then disable it. You can also reboot or restart the device.

On notifications, you have an option to open on your phone but not to quick respond.
When ever i try to switch on on the app notifications for a mi fitness, it's saying i can't due to security reasons which i don't understand
