    The aim of my channel is to share my favorite video game music as creatively as possible.
    In order to do this, I record the soundtrack during my gameplay while using various tools such as mods or plugins to remove or lower the voices or ambient noises. Then I enhance the quality using Adobe Audition. Once this is done, I work on a background picture using assets that I edit myself from the same game in order to create a unique visual to accompany the video, and I also add some effects with Vegas Pro. Those videos have educational and entertainment value because it helps people to find the names of music in video games, which are not mentioned in the games. It also gathers the community and allows the fandom to have a place to talk about my videos, the music and characters in the comment section, especially when the Zelda universe is full of theories.
    The music, images, effects and other content included in these videos are for educational and entertainment purposes. No copyright infringement is intended. Everything got recorded from my gameplay.

    Ok, I know the BOTW fandom gives Revali a lot of shit, but you gotta face the fact that he is an amazing character. In the game he isn't mentioned to have any family or friends he can call his own. In fact, he seems sort of lonely. He's depicted practicing and always by himself. The only verification that the village even respected him is the scene where they mentioned the flight range was built in his name. Urbosa was a chieftain of her entire town, Daruk was a revered warrior of the Gorons who had a giant statue made of him, Mipha was a Zora princess, Link was a hero who was supposed to seal the darkness, and Zelda was a princess of Hyrule. Revali, however, is mentioned as only being a great warrior and having a platform named after him. In many cutscenes, Revali is shown perfecting his gale and practicing to the point of actually hurting himself In the Tebra mountains. His dedication is particularly stressed more than the other champions signifying that his skills and popularity were gained not through titles or recognition within his race and community, but though hard work. In conclusion, Revali is a seasoned warrior who, going by the voice actor and character, is actually quite young. His personality is one that can actually be backed up by his skills. He worked hard to gain boasting rights and isn't all bark and no bite. His mastery of the winds is something no other Rito has ever done before. He's clearly a misunderstood character who's true qualities lie a little deeper in his story. Honest to God, Revali will forever stay my favorite Champion because of his amazing characterization.
    Lol rant over.
    Edit: I also posted a huge explanation for the fall of the Champions on Reddit if anyone is interested? www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/jr0fot/found_the_sos_messages_in_the_divine_beasts/?

    Revali only lost because he forgot his Great Eagle Bow. Think about it; the Champion's Ballad rematches are supposed to be you taking the place of the champions during the Great Calamity, which is why you get their special weapons. In Ruta, you get the Lightscale Trident, in Naboris you get Urbosa's shield and scimitar, in Rudania you get the Stone Smasher, but in Medoh, you only get a Falcon Bow, a Duplex Bow and a Phrenic Bow. Revali left it at his house because he thought he was just going to meet Zelda at Mt. Lanayru, then he had no time to get it because he needed to rush to Medoh since Ganon reawoke suddenly.
    Alongside this, Urbosa had all metal weapons against an electric foe, Daruk had no bombs for Fireblight, and Mipha was just underequipped.

      He's my favourite Champion for a reason. Out of the four of them, he is the one with the most development over the few connections you get with him(not counting when he is mentioned), at first he feels like he should be the Hero, then when Link enters Vah Medoh he is hopeful that he can surpass him in defeating the Windblight, and after Windblight Ganon is defeated, he gains respect for Link, that he did something that he couldn't, and sees clearly that there's a reason Link is the hero.

      "never seemed to be able to hate?" , easily the most and only disliked character in that game for me, he never really did redeem himself in my eyes, even with his special ability and chill theme. He got his ass handed to him to the easiest versions of the blight Ganons and still acted like he was a big deal.

    • @locke_smithy2714
      @locke_smithy2714 7 лет назад +240

      Let me explain why I like him:
      While I understand your dislike towards him, the reason why I love him is because of his character. Yes, he does act arrogantly on many occasions, but such is the nature of the writer portraying him as which, to me, is a good thing.
      Because he doesn't hate you, really; he only hates how he is not given the spotlight to face ganon head-on like link. Still, he respects the royal order no matter what. That didnt stop him, however, to be an ass to link.
      Which is part of the reason.
      The rivalry between the two is not clearly full of depth, but it does give me the notion of revali trying to compete with the protagonist even though he knew he wouldn't be the one to defeat ganon; messing with the protag, however, is a different story.
      And besides, the skill's cool, and the theme has the vibe of a relaxed but friendly tone which somehow tells me that revali has indeed come to respect link in some way.
      Of course, such is the opinion of a nobody stranger.

  • @potatpon5571

    Revali’s my favourite champion and I’m absolutely frustrated at how some people seem to downplay his fight against Windblight Ganon saying “he had no excuses, he had the easiest one!” Or “If Link could beat it, why can’t you?”
    Implied by the Champion’s DLC, it’s shown that all the champions literally had limited supplies with them adding to the fact that they were unprepared, came with minimal things because 1. Ganon came at a time when they were still by the mountain and had to urgently reach their divine beasts, 2. They thought they’d be safe in their divine beasts. This includes Revali. He also had nothing should all his weapons break because of this while Link had his stasis and bombs should he run out of anything.
    There is also a barrier preventing any means of escape and this applies to all champions. For a guy like Revali especially who depends on long distance and flies a lot, this is extremely restricting. There wasn’t a barrier when Link fought. Revali’s Gale wouldn’t really do much other than provide the maximum shooting distance with the barrier and he probably can’t conjure it as many times as he can consecutively. He’d have to keep running towards that one gale that is constantly running.
    Another point is exhaustion. None of the champion’s could possibly have insane infinite stamina. It’s what I believe is one of the major factors to each champions’ eventual downfall, even Link died to it because of the endless amounts of Guardians attacking him and Zelda. Revali has to keep dodging the Blight Ganon’s tornadoes and his floating lasers, and keep flying to reach good range to shoot. He probably isn’t even as experienced as Link or Urbose with the sword which was meant to be a backup weapon.
    Thirdly, unlike Link, he didn’t have any other champion power. He didn’t have Mipha’s healing abilities, he didn’t have Urbosa’s Fury neither did he have Daruk’s protection. Likewise for the other champions. Not to mention Revali’s Gale is not an innate passive ability. It’s not something that comes out of thin air. It takes up his whole body and wings to try and make it succeed.
    While sure Revali could have been cocky, it does not absolutely mean he should’ve won the fight since it was the “easiest” blight Ganon. He didn’t have excuses? He sure does!
    It’s a losing battle from the very beginning for all the Champions. Whether Revali was arrogant or not during his fight didn’t mean anything because they were gonna die anyway because they weren’t prepared. Why insult him saying he had the easiest one?

      Yea also, following the Rito age laws, he was still the youngest one in the group, and, as seen in the dlc, he even hurt himself one or multiple times, just to practice his gale, though he was never proud of himself and he'd always push himself harder.

    • @rockinmusicquarterly12
      @rockinmusicquarterly12 3 года назад +99

      also also, each blight was very obviously designed against each champion - in this case, windblight's tornadoes would make flying hazardous to revali
      not to mention the makings of a champion book, which confirms that revali flew all the way across hyrule to get to medoh; he must have been exhausted by the time he got there

    • @Kizakoe
      @Kizakoe 3 года назад +34

      I even think that none of the champions had their weapons...
      If they had them in their fights, wouldn’t the weapons be in the divine beast, where no one can take them ? So if they are in the beasts, you cannot have them as a reward AFTER the divine beast because they would be in it so you could get them DURING the dungeon
      So the champions were unarmed when they fought...
      Btw I’m sorry if it is not well explained, English is not my first language, I’m French ^^’

    • @burntout0212
      @burntout0212 3 года назад +23

      Hmm all of these points are very good especially the fact that revali had to fly to Medoh which was in the Hebra region while he at the time was at the Lanyaru gate so yeah that's a huge distance and the path was directly straight across from the castle so he had it bad,
      The again the very good fact that the champions had the blights specifically designed to ruin there respective champion AND the champions didn't have there weapons since they wouldn't be with the elders if they were in the beasts,
      Over all revali and for the other matter the other champions stood very little if at all a chance.
      Hmm well I summed up all of this comments thread.
      One last thing for right now stands out is that out of the 5 champions and zelda, revali and ok I don't know if links slow down time thing is even remotely close to an ability but I say that it is but, like I was saying revali is the ONLY one of those 6 besides maybe link to have no champion ability,
      Mipha, healing power,
      Daruk, protection power,
      Urbosa, lightning power,
      Link, time slow power maybe,
      And Zelda, the sealing power.
      And what does revali have? Nothing absolutely, nothing.
      What he has is his very own technique. It wasn't passed down, it wasn't random, Revali injured him self time and time again just to be remembered as something of a legend.
      Soooo that's just a expansion of my reply I wonder if I'll update this again.

    Bow of light drawn, and boom. The fight was over.

    Revali's theme represents him very well I think. It starts out pretty soft, like a small breeze, which represents his beginning. He started from the bottom and he didn't have much skill. He was simply wavering, flying unsteadily without much confidence as he wished to be greatness, and I feel like the sweet music encaptures his humble struggle. However, he worked extremely. hard for his skills so that he could become a strong and free wind, which sounds like around :48 ..Now he's soaring, strong, free, and confidently. He has achieved greatness and has become the excellent warrior he always wanted to become. Then, the music dies down again and sounds homely to show that he's still the same Revali at heart that we love, even with all his snarkiness. Overall this piece is very beautiful, serene, and elegant, much like the champion it represents :)

    I feel like Revali has a lot of personality, like he's an actual real person. He struggled, he fought, he lost, but in the end he got what he wanted and deserved. To help defeat Ganon. I can't blame him for being the sassy, toxic little bird he is. He has every right to be a jerk. We don't know anything about his family, for all we know he could be an orphan. Revali is such a mysterious character, and we shouldn't judge him for being a jerk to Link. Something really bad and depressing could've happened to him in his past, but we don't know that. If something ever really sad happened to you, you'd want other people to feel the same anger you had. Whenever I think of Ravioli, I think that something tragic could've happened to him, but instead of telling people, he just doesn't tell anybody. Revali is a misunderstood character, but I think he's definitely a good character.

    Revali's theme always made me feel like there was something more deep and tragic to him, and then seeing him training to no end and constantly failing, his theme made a bit more sense. It has hints of tragedy, pride, hope, despair, triumph, and utter defeat, but it continues to try to sound better. Revali couldn't show his softer side as it would make him seem weak in comparison to the others. Urbosa's divinity and motherly pretense, Daruk's comradery and loyalty, Mipha's tenderness and pleasant nature, Revali just had his archery proficiency and capability of flight over them, most likely dwarfing his own idea of his power in comparison. They were all naturally gifted in their own ways, so if Revali were to grow comfortable in the group and at his current state, he would have fallen behind in his training and ultimately become a detriment to the group. He had to hate Link since he knew he was infinitely more powerful and noble than he could ever be, so by belittling Link's actions he could try to make himself think he was stronger. But I think this song perfectly displays his true feelings. He is proud of his accomplishments, but sees that they aren't much in comparison to the others. He wants to keep going and keep training, but thinks it all pointless at some times and has to quash those ideas and replace them with delusions of grandeur simply only to keep his mind progressing forward and not regressing into his own failures. Revali is an incredibly tragic character in my opinion, and this song not fitting his demeanor is proof of his true depth, and is a wonderful but devastating dichotomy to witness. His will is just as strong as his stubbornness, and behind every prideful smile is the overwhelming fear of being left behind. That's just how it feels to me, at least

    Revali gets even less recognition in Tears, and yet that just adds to how sad and distinct his character is. All the new sages are descendants of the sages of the past. Tulin is given the title of the Wind Sage from his ancestor. The others were related to the old champions.
    Revali didn’t have named family, or anyone that was proud of him. He was respected and admired by his peers, but everything he did, he had to struggle to attain.

    Initially didn´t really care for any of the champions, but Revali sort of grew on me over time.
    He´s got a sort of cute charm to him, where, deep down, he really respects Link, but he´s generally too proud to admit it.
    I think his theme reflects how gentle he really is at heart, beneath the facade.

    This is peak score composition. It incorporates Revali's leitmotif and distinctive instrument (the accordion) with melodic and instrumental elements from his races's theme (the Rito Village theme, which features strings and mandolin), creating a theme so powerful and emotional it always makes me cry. Mad props to the composer.

      After viewing the English version of botw, I somehow figured some lines of Revali translation is not quite accurate, so maybe Revali's original characteristic is a little mistaken for most of the westerners. Revali is the most popular champion in most eastern players' opinions (japan, china)for his unique arrogance and personality.

    0:20 This part has always appealed to me, it just sounds so peaceful, happy but also in a weird way tragic and sad. It highlights how Revali overdoes himself in the only thing he considers being talented in being "the master of the sky", and he feels if he fails at that one thing he is skilled in, he fails as an individual.
    Its also shown how much he cares about his tribe in Age of Calamity when he falsely thinks Link wants to attack his home and people, ready to defend it with his whole being. But now he is forever trapped as a spirit in Vah Medoh unable to interact with his tribe, unable to boast and show off his skills to anyone, unable to generate his own selfworth, since he has been always judged by others lenses.
    That part also just gives me peaceful and content vibes. It makes me think that Revali isnt really an ambitious person, all he truly wishes for is to be respected and accepted by his tribe.

    so this is going to be the dumbest comment I've ever typed.
    so I've had a sever anxiety problem for nearly all of my life, always having the problem of self confidence and being brave. Zelda has always been a motivator to push myself outside if that comfort zone and believing in myself every now and then because nearly every major character has those traits and sends a message that it takes a little confidence to make great things happen. even though Revali is cocky, he radiates that more than anyone else, being very proud of his accomplishments. seeing him in game and listening to this beautiful theme makes me elated to know I could be that proud of myself someday. I don't expect anyone to understand, but it's my own motivator that I carry away from this game and Revalis character.

    Unpopular opinion, but I feel like this is the most deep and emotional Zelda game yet story wise. Even beating out Majora's Mask IMO... I legitimately felt like I knew the champions and their personalities and individual characteristics make their deaths so much more tragic to me. Even Revali, who is a jerk to you, feels like a good person deep down who laid out his life for Hyrule. It makes you want to protect Zelda and defeat Ganon that much more. Zelda is all Link has anymore and I feel like that's a wonderful compelling reason to move forth the main plot. Breath of the Wild is an absolute masterpiece and anyone who is a fan of Zelda, or gaming in general, owes it to themselves to pick up the game.

      I agree. Is it really an unpopular opinion though? It was the first Zelda game for me that actually gave me a emotional connection to the characters, even when the characters only appear in flashbacks. It tells a lot about the game, when you feel a connection to the characters even when they barely appear in the game. Also it's funny that some people say that the story sucks, because how much story did the previous Zelda games have? Even OOT which is probably the favorite game to the majority was kind of cliché and boring story-wise even if the game was awesome itself.

    • @alexs3147
      @alexs3147 7 лет назад +7

      Ventus, logical fallacy to put it like that... Also, even if you say it like that, it's not like you are saying a point in favor that the story is bad. It's just because the princess was portraited as insufficient that the character actually got a little more depth than the previous Zelda games. Also it was more original.

    • @CarniTato
      @CarniTato 7 лет назад +42

      I absolutely agree. People confuse story development with a lot of cutscenes or dialogue. I like to quote Peter Molyneux, who once said that cutscenes are like ads and get boring if they are too long. His development team was allowed to only use 14 minutes of cutscenes in total as a consequence.
      That being said, the given cutscenes in Botw are handled in a great way. They feel rewarding since you search for them, they enhance the lore but leave you puzzling the pieces together. Puzzling the pieces together is exactly what this story is about - Link has lost his memories and hence is on the same level as the player, he has to learn everything from the start. Now what makes Both's story so good is that you don't advance the main quest until someone reveals you in a 10 minute cutscene what has happened - but you learn from the world itself, through the gameplay. This is a prime example how a story should be involved into gameplay, and how both elements enhances it. For instance, when you arrive to Hateno Fort for the first time, you see all those ancient guardians lying around on what seems to have been a battlefield. People visit the fort's wall to witness it, and you are left with the imagination what fierce battle has took place there.
      Same thing when you go to Hyrule castle and see what both the city and the Ranch has become. You don't only see the suffering in a cutscene, you feel it in the world. The places tell the story, and it really fits the game's atmosphere well. And yes, I prefer this approach by far to OoT which bored to to death with its super long cutscenes over a generic story. The other Zelda game that shared a similar story-telling to Botw was Majora's Mask, where the gameplay and story enhanced each other. Guess that's why those two games are by far my favourites in the series.

    I just watched the finished that divine beast and now Revali is my favorite character. I remember watching the first scene where he comes in (1:57), and I thought that scene was so good I stopped and loaded back up the game to watch it again. There's something about his personality - sarcastic, arrogant, stubborn, funny, but a slight mean (obviously because of perfectly understandable jealousy, I mean, Revali is a CHAMPION and this random guy comes along and now Revali has to assist him??) that shapes in to being the amazing character that we all have recently begun to love. I remember right when I defeated the Windblight Ganon, and the cutscene rolled of Revali (10:17) and at the end I kinda had tears in my eyes because it was really sad that he died even though I knew him for like 20 minutes. Respect to Nintendo. They're creative and I hope they make more characters like him.
