Mipha is definitely referenced,Daruk is still in the Stone Statue,But nothing about Revali or Urbosa And I think I know why, all sages are related to each other so the Champions,Except Revali,He is not related to Teba and Tulin.
it's been years since i first played botw and aoc and now playing totk idk why but the grief hits me every time knowing he's gone like a hyrule without revali feels so lonely
revali gets so much hate. deep down, past the arrogant, egotistical wall, there's someone who is insecure and lonely. LinkedWolf made an amazing two videos about him. revali, in his diary (found in the champions' ballad DLC) notes that he won another archery competition. fellow rito say he is the pride of their village, constantly praising him. he says that he "could get used to this," so it's worth mentioning that revali wasn't always arrogant and cocky, but rather gradually became this way not only to mask his insecurity but due to (probably excessive) praise and affirmation from the other rito. revali was also offered a gift for his archery skills by the village elder. he requested a training ground to be built: the flight range. the location of the flight range, where revali requested his training ground to be placed, is significant. it's far from the village, where no-one can see. why would an arrogant person like revali want his training ground concealed, away from where people can watch him show off???? HE'S INSECURE‼️‼️‼️ he doesn't want people to see him fail, over and over again, like we saw in age of calamity, where revali fails at performing revali's gale. he falls to the ground and says, 'not enough, must push myself harder,' and that's a tiny moment where we see who revali actually is. insecure, desperate to succeed. then when he notices zelda he starts being arrogant and rude again. ("you know, your highness, it's rude to eavesdrop.") also in the japanese-translated version of revali's diary in the champions' ballad when revali talks about the events that take place in the memory 'revali's flap' he says (not word-for-word) this: "i performed revali's gale for him [link]. but there was no reaction, *even though the skill still has a low success rate, and i pushed myself to the limit to show him*." (NOT WORD FOR WORD) the english translation says something along the lines of, 'i gave him the privilege of seeing revali's gale.' the english translation (of the entire game too, not just his diary) outplays revali's arrogance a lot. also, a small sidenote (literally everything in this comment is using LinkedWolf's revali videos pls go watch them), in Japanese, Revali's Gale is called, 'revali's ferocity.' this basically means *fierce determination.* revali was not born with his powers like the other champions, and was not the son of the chief, a prince, or village elder. urbosa, a chieftain, mipha, a princess, and daruk, another chieftain. 'ferocity' refers to how revali *trained* himself to perform revali's gale, with determination and endless work. tl;dr: revali was insecure, lonely, and pushed himself to work harder than anyone to earn his title.
Honestly, the people who hate him just bc of his rude behavior mask or bc they think they're of higher moral (to a fictional character pff) don't get his character at all. They did him a little too dirty in the translation I agree, and this affected his character in spanish as well (since they choose to translate more directly from english rather than japanese for spanish). I feel the need to correct and show people but I really keep it to myself in the end. When I see curious people I do like to send over LinkedWolf's video. There's so much (direct) subtleness in BOTW, everything is there in plain sight but you gotta read closer and understand there is more to every bit in BOTW!
I don't have a thorough analysis for him, but I don't agree when people imply all his work and effort should earn him some "right" to be like that. He's a douchebag, plain and simple, and I love him all the more for it because heroes should be are allowed to have all sorts of personalities and be themselves instead of fitting into some kind-hearted, "nice guy" archetype. People IRL are assholes quite often and IMO that should never downplay if they have good intentions and perform good actions.
I love revali!!! Hearing this again made me cry tears multiple times. As even though he wasnt given justice in AOC, his music was still absolutely stunning along with his character remaining the misunderstood teen just as I had fell in love with what is now nearly a decade ago😭
This bird somehow got the best themes and nobody seems cares about him I agree, His themes are very underrated besides his original one in botw. I recently did medoh again and was a little teary-eyed after. I felt like I had too much of a connection to medoh and revali.
One of those characters that get so much hate for the wrong reasons, he may come off as an asshole, but that is because unlike the others characters he actually worked his way up to the point where is in now. And honestly cockiness is well deserved since he does have the talent to back it up. This may sound off to some of you, but he is role model to me, I am noting a good position in life, so perhaps it's time I work my way to victory like him.
I even saw a video explaining his character but via looking at Japanese translation and his character is even more appreciable in it than in the English translation
Agreed. Revali may be a cock6 rito, but he's got every nit of skill and ability and then some to back it up. Busted his tail feathers to be the champion of the Rito, and he's right. Link is, lucky. He's just a base trained Hylian k ight, all be it a bit above average. He gets all his fame and auch, foe wielding the master sword. Which, if you look into the lore? Can be wielded by anyone the swords spirit approves of and choses. Which implies it doesn't HAVE to be link, either
@@THEFINALHAZARD Actually Link is said to be even more skilled than Revali , he is said to have beaten adult trained knights when he was still a child and be the most skilled swordsman Revali ever faced , so yeah he's not just : a bit above average
