@@ZackDowdy yea I don't even know any of those parks, also been getting into DIY skatepark projects myself as I'm a constructor, always looking to improve local spots and Washington st, San Diego and Burnside, Portland always seems like a must visit to me. We have a DIY bowl here in my homecity, Guadalajara Mexico, it's called "El Frijol DIY skatepark" I think trasher Mag was involved.
This is amazing! Could you do a little more in-depth your video tho? I want to be able to picture the skatepark as if it were my own, with plenty of footage of people (and you ofc) skating it. Thanks so much, I love your videos!!
Whether you like Washington St, Burnside, FDR, Newport, Treasure Island, etc., the best DIY park is the next one! We need the next generation of skateboarders to continue the tradition and not always rely on others to build parks/spots.
Philly has a very rich skateboarding history and the kids there are really awesome with keeping it alive and well. That and a couple of really dedicated people, like the ones that run Skate The Foundry, are making it a place to skate for a long time to come. I'm trying to bring that vibe to the South Jersey area, but it's a huge uphill battle. I'm an OG and just starting skating, so haven't been on the scene very long. The Jersey Shore has a couple of amazing parks, too.
Now Mr cheeky the fakie on Vert can be done blind side floating back side or Ollie ( fuck I keep making mistakes ) the fucking fakie Ollie is best done in a wind
I was supposed to visit Portland in June but the pandemic ruined that, I'm bummed I couldn't visit Burnside for the first time. I'll make it to all these spots one day though, keeping my head up. Good video man! You really bring original and well-filmed content to the YT community.
This is awesome!! In Augusta GA we have a city built skatepark at Blanchard woods. Do you have any advice to open up our park? There are several grass areas that need concrete to give this park flow. How do I convince the city this is a good idea?
Chris, one way to start is collecting local data. Figure our how much "skatable space" there is compared to how many "skaters" there is. That's a way city council & governments will start considering to review your proposed idea. It starts with getting a local crew together willing to sit on city meetings and voicing their thoughts.
I think if you asked the Skateboarding world which DIY is the best around, they would say FDR Park in Philly. I haven't been to yours, but FDR is a pretty special place.
Should we do more DIY Skatepark tours? Like this video if you think so! It was good to get back to the bridge, it's been way to long.
Portland burnside DIY
@@jamesmememes3472 I haven't been to Portland in a few years, it's past due!

Wow! That’s amazing! I would never even think of being able to build something like that. Great video Zack.
I always thought this was Burnside. But at sixty just trying to continue to skate is a challenge

If you have a wind smashing your Vert straight up and down a beautiful felling to have the wind clap the board against your feet
Fakie Ollie

I like that it's not covered in Graffiti, all our parks in the UK are tagged all over.
There's 1 wall specifically for morales. But I love the pure concrete as well.
Have you seen burnside??
I have, it's so fun! The difference for me was figuring out how not to push there haha
@Zack Dowdy yeah that true it’s all pushing
What a sick place!! Just shows what we can do if we all pitch in together! Keep the awesome videos coming! 🙌
Exactly!! Thank you Jarryd
Zack daddy
Washington Street is on my bucket list!

Damn that's gnarly! 😅 It's so cool that DIY parks like that exist.
