Also forgot to mention. I got Satori cruiser wheels for my kids deck. They're good quality so far and roll well. I think they're a brand that is slept on for the bigger companies. Great to see you got a set too.
I skated the x97’s and spitfire F4’s and honestly the bones dragons just feel so nice to my old ass lately lol. I just love the softness and yet I can still powerslide them almost everywhere and I swear they dont beat up my joints as bad as harder wheels. Spitfires and the X97’s are def a little faster but not by much. But thats just me but I almost exclusively skate transition so maybe for you flip trick guys could be totally different. Also us east coast guys got terrible chunky asphault and concrete most places and the bones dragons make it so much easier to swallow.
got some pretty chunky ground here in Washington too do to all of the rain. And yes the dragon wheel's can feel a little bouncy for flippin the board. i imagine they're awesome for transition though
I'm not a fan of connical wheels at all, they're really sluggish on sliding imo. I ride 54 mm typically bones V2 sidecuts are my favs. I skate dragons, spf, and stfs. I have a larger 8.75" with 58 mm and 1/4" risers for larger park skating like flow bowls. Then I also skate a smaller board for street 8.5" with typically 54 mm wheels and 1/8" shock indy riser. I don't think risers hurt anything as much as I use to hate them. If anything I have worse pop without risers, and I wear my tail and nose way faster without risers. I only ride shock risers for the impact factor and they help with that. I've heard you don't need risers if you skate under 54mm wheels.
Its funny back in the early 2000's riding risers was frowned on. Some people use em for wheelbite reasons. Others use em for a little more pop or just to have more turn clearance. There's a lot of reasons really. I haven't skated em much
Tall wheels on a small board is strange. The more you move away from a rectangle that lies to a square shape (ie board + trucks + wheels) the less I imagine it’ll flip around. Not that I’ve tried it. But 55mm on an 8” deck seems like it could be wonky.
@@stickersteve007 I realize it didn’t have much to do with your vid but it was just something I thought about when I saw those 55mms being mounted on that 8”.
Real nice vid. Covered a lot here and well. forgot about the grind surface area with smaller wheels. Great you mentioned the pinch and wheelbite. For me same issue. I was getting wheelbite due to my weight smaller wheels or getting a riser pad helped. Wish I could send you the Spitfire lockins I got. My favorite spitfire wheel. Just love the shape. Great you stopped here. Wheel durometer discussion is pandoras box.
@@stickersteve007 That's great it doesn't cross your mind and you can skate anything. TBH when I see you at some of those spots w/ 97A wheels my feet begin to ache. Workin with 95A wheels now and they're not bad. I do feel it though when I push on my kids setup with 78A wheels. So nice.

i just put em on a curb board i setup. hopefully trying them tomorrow
@@stickersteve007 Hope they work out man. I just hopped on their site and they got crazy amounts of wheels.
P.S. dig the shirt man!!
haha thanks man. made it a few years ago. you need any shirts or decal's let me know dude
Companies should bring back more 101a clear wheels. I thing bones had a clear SPF a couple years ago and for some reason they stopped selling them.

I agree..having a smaller board that's higher off the ground could feel a little unstable

@@RikRiorik i thought it was relevant. i think part of it looking so funny is because it makes the trucks look super narrow and tiny haha

@Dean D soft wheels do feel nice. Until they leave the ground. They definitely have a purpose though
Spits F4’s 99a - that’s it
Great wheel. Definitely the one I've skated the most.
