Just to be clear....im not talking down on the Rowley's. i absolutely love that shoe (i have 2 pairs) just doesn't check all the boxes i need in a shoe to actually skate it. Maybe i'll try the XLT's out ?

have you tried the dragons 97 duro?
Powell and Bones use the same formula, so yes. it's my favorite formula. currently on the Powell Peralta Nano Rats 97's. My new favorite wheel
I'm using da 5.6 standard 94 ace truck bushings
Hey Steve been watching your vids get back into skateing curbs and flat 🎉....
nice dude! and thanks for checkin out the videos
Ventures are calling you back…
the thought crossed my mind, but it's not the trucks. it's me
Didn’t know the dude skated
@Hrmn8tor only after a couple white Russians
@@stickersteve007 hanging out having a few tall boys at the slappy curb is the true technique to breaking in the ole curb.
@@Hrmn8tor Now that's a video idea!
I think it’s because u aren’t using Venture lol
@@itzEnJ lol believe me. That thought crossed my mind
I just got the soft sliders 2 days ago, they feel really good 2nd day of skating them today. I slide really long on ledges, I notice whenever i am doing noseslides or tailslides i need to wax them ledges on the side and on top of the ledge which is a bit annoying but tolerable especially coming from a 99a spitfire classic wheel. The speed is fucking incredible and smooth on them though it feels like i don't have to push for shit to approach a ledge which is amazing. After doing tons of research and watching a bunch of comparison videos of bones vs spitfires it looks like i am only sticking with the soft sliders and i definitely want to try out the bones x99's.
Right on. Sounds like you'd probably like the x99's as well.
Thank you, Sticker Steve
It was good content to me, man. With how others on RUclips make clips everything is always first try. You’ll get it soon enough man. Just return to it when you’re having fun again.
Thanks dude. Next dry day it's on! Lol
Hope the calf feels better soon 👊🏻
Thanks brother. Gonna stay off the board for a few days
Keep up the fight 🙏
@@AdventuresInSkateboarding you know I will
@@stickersteve007 💯
dont give up
Never!
Man i know the feeling. Sometimes you just got to stop for a few sessions and then try it when your fresh. Also maybe having something to ollie up too like a 10 inch ledge may help too. Love the honesty brother.
Yeah I'm walking away from this one for a few sessions. At least that's what I'm telling myself lol
I’m wanting to learn these sooo bad. I’ve always ollied into my crooks so I’m struggling letting that go. Even on smaller curbs I’m still ollieing
I feel ya. Curb skating in general is a weird one for me. I'm so used to ollieing into everything. Just gotta trust the process and run into the curb
@@stickersteve007 will do! I won’t give up!
this is real content skating after 30 <3
Ain't that the truth
Do you have a video on that butter bench curb?
I don't think I made one on the final product, but I do have one of the first version before an Amazon driver ran it over and I had to rebuild it
@@stickersteve007 sweet thanks
Some days you really feel like nothing is working out and nothing feels like it should.
100%. For me it's this damn trick. Just ain't workin out how I planned
@@stickersteve007 give it time. It’s amazing how one session can differ from the next. By the sound of things your body needs a bit of a rest from trying this one for a few days.
No advice for the trick, I’m not a slappy-er but those Accels 👀
Keepin it OG
@@stickersteve007 My favorite skate shoe of all time. Glad to see people wearing it!
I hear you. I’m the same way with some tricks. I think I know how it works. I think I know what I need to do. But something still doesn’t click. All I can suggest is put it aside for now and get back to fun stuff. When you get that flow back, come back and try the new trick. It will be that much more glorious when you do finally get it. 👊👍
Gonna put it on the backburner for now. It's going to rain for a week anyways. So I don't have much of a choice lol
We all have bad days! I enjoyed watching the flat ground session! Tricks looked decent imo! 💪
Thanks dude. I was just trying to warm up
Don't give up, you will get it but maybe just take a break and revisit it. In my personal opinion, it looks like you are sitting in the nose slide for too long before popping into crook, because by the time you pop it , you've already lost the momentum. Don't get me wrong, your nose slides are super good and impressively long, so try popping in the crook after 3 to 4 ft instead 300 to 400 ft if you know what I mean 😉
I know exactly what you mean. I think that's what I need to try.
i run a 8.7 popsicle shop deck with indy hollows, 54m spitfire lockins and bronsons i love having a good all around board i can do flip trick comfortably while also having a good amount of room for slappys and some light transition skating i wear a size 12 mens and the 8.7 is the perfect size for me 9 feels just a bit to big for me personally for tricks like 360 flips just requires alot more effort and a 8.5 feels like im more standing over the board rather than on the board if that makes sense still comfortable but i find really stomping tricks alot easier with the little extra width i ran ventures for a while and liked them alot but found the indys more comfortable overall with time
Makes sense. It's nice to have setup you feel like does everything well for you
Give yourself a rest day.
Gonna give myself a rest week probably
First try.
Give the face of the curb a touch of wax. And some on your nose. You’re already going plenty fast which is great.
@P1Brand I did both of those. I just gotta get the technique right.
practice something else for awhile and come back to it! try as many spots as you need to. you'll get it man!
That's the plan! I have some other tricks in mind as well
I find taking the trick to a 26 stair kinked rail helps.
I didn't even think of that! Probably much easier than a gnarly curb 😆
its cause you left venture gang 🥺
i actually thought about that lol
Put on slayer and focus that deck!🤘🤘
you know what you're right F*** this board!
I never struggle. 1st try, every time!
lol wouldn't that be nice!
Time for some stationary garage transition poping
over and over again
I always have to remind myself to bend my knees more especially while sliding keeps me pre caulked for popping out,or bailing, or to krook in your case. Youll get it looking forward to it, your vids keep me hyped to skate thanks.
thanks dude! i always have to remind myself of that as well. Think im just overthinkin this one.
Nice try, amigo. Might need some potassium and magnesium to help that calf. Great video. You don't have to be so down on yourself. We're grateful you posted this video.
appreciate you brother. this trick gettin in my head lol. i expect to much of myself sometimes. Confident ill get it though
Stationary practice would fix it instantly my bro
I've done a bunch of that (off camera mostly) sliding changes everything lol
@@stickersteve007 weight distribution from momentum
the last video I put up on RUclips was because of this trick and I still intend on learning it
Right on! I'll make sure to check it out
@@stickersteve007 it prob won't help ya at ALL but I'm just sayin I feel your pain on this fun trick 🍀
RIGHT ON MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you posted it bro the edit was so funny 😂 hope you get your leg feeling better
Appreciate it. i think the leg will be good in a few day's
its a hard trick. if you want advice from somebody who cant do it, you need to drop your tail a bit to get leverage to bounce into the crook. you got it!
dude you're right. I thought I was doin that, but I'm definitely not. it would probably make the difference if i really concentrate on that. next time!
I love seeing the process. Reminds me of recently I was just trying to learn FS Slappy 50/50s. And it was tearing up my knees. Finally got them down decently. By the way that spot looks awesome I'm in Portland Oregon mind sharing the location of those red curbs? I don't think I'm too far away from them I know that's about to start raining but maybe next season I can skate them
nice! I've done few fs 5050's but I definitely haven't figured that one out either. the spot is an old albertsons off 137th and padden parkway. Maybe we can get a sesh in one day and you can show me the ways on the fs 5050's!
That trick is either 3 tries or 300 for me and there's definitely curbs where it plain does not work. I have to remind myself to stay light, bend my knees and don't slide too long before I pop it up, like almost right away. I also find that if I try to keep the board ahead of me, like looking down at your feet when sitting on a chair, that it comes up easier, if I am right above it, I get pitched. Take a break and find another curb to try it. That butter curb might do the trick and you can come off the end. Always seems like I have to figure it out again each time. Good luck and I hope your leg feels better!
thank you. that actually makes a lot of sense! appreciate the tips!
Struggling is real man, coming from a 40yr old dad of 6!!! and got back into skating after 20 yrs off .. had sponsorships back then and lost my way but nothing beats the battle and winning in the end. TRUST the process no matter how long
You're 100% right. Dad of 6? you're a Beast! i have 2 (twins)
@@stickersteve007 4 out of my 6 love being on a board so watching them conquer their own battles even if it’s rolling up and down a ramp I give them huge props. Before you know it your twins will be at your heels doing better more knarly slappys
@bfmchalfdead9804 that's awesome, and that would be rad
cmon ! just use your other leg, pull up man!
lol i tried. it just hurts regular or switch. now i can hardly put weight on my leg......but i bet it'll be good in a couple day's
I’m currently on a healing break myself I’ll be back and inverted my lurpivs to get back on the curbs!!!
heal fast brother! we need a break sometimes, but damn i just took one haha. Inverted Lurpiv's you say? Nice!
yeah dude, don't push yourself to injury. people watch for your personality anyway
if that's true than it's the best thing I could ask for! that being said I don't push myself for the content. Just the personal gains. This trick is testing me lol
i don't stress tricks and progression. i like to go out, break a sweat, and go home before i get hurt. sometimes it helps to sleep on it and let your body recover. i'm happier than ever just skating. just having time on board and working on basics/fundamentals gets me closer to landing tricks when i try them. one silly thing i've been trying lately is a fs pivot on the back truck without scraping/sliding/stopping. it's so simple and so frustratingly hard.
Maybe give it a try on the curbs down by fort Vancouver since it doesn’t have that flat top. Worth a shot.
im not the biggest fan of those curbs/ but it would work better. in the process of getting some more curbs goin at my main spot
I wasn't gonna post this video, but then I decided screw it. This is just how the day went. We all have days like this. Gotta post the bad stuff along with the good stuff. It's not always sunshine and rainbows and that's OK
@stickersteve007 I'm loving the tee, if you are selling I'll buy 1. But I know what you mean, I struggle with various backside slash grinds on the noping quarter bank @ my local
I can't tell if your wheels are curved edges or not but I hear that helps
@eternalrewind2190 yeah they're curved pretty good. I just gotta figure out the technique
I, personally don’t like girls with dicks. That may just be me though. Who knows?
Hi, I wanted to ask you a question. I'm having a problem with these trucks and my standard T skate tool. I can't adjust the nuts that go in front where the hanger ends. The tool doesn't go in because it touches the hanger. The same thing happens to me when I try to tighten or loosen the kingpin nut. Did the same thing happen to you? How did you solve it? Thanks and best regards.
Unfortunately that's just kind of how it is with ventures. Some T tools work better with them though
@@stickersteve007 Thanks for your reply! I was going crazy, thinking it could be a defect of the pair of trucks I had purchased. Greetings from Argentina!
