You rule sticker Steve!
@@kennynewell85 no.....you rule!
6 mos late, but I'm so self conscious that skating in public is just terrifying. I did get the courage to hit a spot that was just a 4" curb in front of a store and within a few tries I caught my back trucks and slammed. I felt really stupid slamming on just an ollie up... But a local restaurant has closed down and has a nice double sided curb that separates the drive through and the parking lot. And the drive through is concrete. And there's a manny pad next to it. Looks like a sweet place to skate, but not sure if I'll ever get the time, or the courage, to skate it
i hear ya dude, but you just gotta try to block that out. People who don't skate understand what the hell we're doin anyways lol. being older can make it more self conscious too. I struggle with it all the time. That spot spot sounds very promising.
Video Vacation! You’ve earned it. The main subs are cool with it. We just hanging out🤘
@@kimrice394 ya'll are the best!
I have been off the board for a fair bit now and just off even watching skating so I understand entirely. Just can’t force anything. The cold and rain has taken the wind out of my sails this year.
Sounds like we have a very similar situation haha. The weather plays a huge factor
@@stickersteve007 yeah this year more than ever. Just not feeling this winter at all.
It’s raining and cold in NC brother I have garage envy 😂❤❤
Stay strong dude. The weather has to change eventually......I hope haha
Thanks dude for the mention. I’m still making dumb videos that nobody watches with the exception of my handful of friends across the internet. Thanks for the encouragement on that front. Your garage looks totally rad. 👊👍
You keep making em, I'll keep watching em!
I missed you and your lovely face! It’s because of you that I am picking skateboarding back up again… you and the small community of other fun skaters like @fatdadskatesbad. I’m 37, in Washington state and trying to combat the cold shitty weather. Thanks for this video! It was Awesome!!!!
I haven’t tried the x99, I have a set but haven’t put them on yet. I have a setup with some primitive wheels that I absolutely hate, I should probably change them out. Need to replace bushings too, stock thunders cracked
Thunder bushings are trash.
@@stickersteve007 they are the first thunders i'd ridden/owned in 30 years. i liked them in the '90s but the axles kept slipping and it soured me on the brand. i was thinking about taking the modern hollow hangar and putting it on my '90s baseplates with grindking inverted kingpins. maybe i'll make a video
@diplenski do it. Be interesting to see if it works
@@stickersteve007 i haven't put them side-by-side to see if angles are right, but i used to frankenstein truck parts together all the time, even different brands
yeah baseplates are more or less the same shape, just the old ones are cast so they a bit taller, and they're 6-hole plates
Love the Peter Mckinnon vibes of the intro. Don't worry, i have been smashing out the videos. Also don't worry, no one is watching 🤣. Kidding, the homies are rad and still out there, just not many new people. The homies are always here. I don't know how to do the clicky things. Almost 7 years and i just stay me. Thats my secret to 7 years of being unsuccessful in RUclips, by being unsuccessfully me 💯. X99 are the best. 4 are better than 3 though.
You're one of the real ones. I appreciate you dude. I'm gonna swap that 4th wheel out soon lol.
@stickersteve007 maybe 3 wheels is a new trend for clicks 🤣
@AdventuresInSkateboarding lol maybe I'm on to something
We had some snow here, but the asphalt is clear and dry. I’ve been outside to skate a few times, but it’s still pretty cold
It's hard to warm up when it's so cold. Takes forever
@@stickersteve007 idk if i'm good enough to tell if i'm warmed up or not 😭
Love ya man. Happy you’re able to get a little skating in and I’ll get a good long slappy noseslide in for you soon!
@bigdeckenergy8119 oh hell yeah! (stone cold voice) look forward to seeing it
@ oh by the way save a really good clip for me! I’m working on my street part and I want to feature you and a few of the other guys in it!
@bigdeckenergy8119 right on.l! I'd be honored. Now to just get a clip haha
@ thanks dude! Take your time I’m filming for at least the next 3 months
Yo my man welcome back
Just takin a lil breather. weather has been brutal this year
@ I live in Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 it’s 90k winds and snowing today I feel ya
Thanks for the update man!! And thanks for the shoutout!! Garage looks sick I am gonna keep on plugging away while I still can. Love the intro that toyota is so epic!!! Hope the weather clears up for ya man!! 🤙
i dont think people (unless the are in the situation) understand how hard it it to regularly upload while they have a full time job and small children lol. it ain't easy!
@ yeah it gets to be a lot especially in the winter months when its dark at 4:30 and snowy and wet out all the time. Catching a session this time of year is no easy feat.
@@fatdadskatesbad not at all.
No need to force anything, Steve. And hey, when are we going to get Steve livestreaming, sippin' cold ones and talking custom Japanese trucks? Seems you could go on forever with that awesomeness.
lol i do have a lot to talk about. Might be more filter less/Raw for 2025 about some things
@@stickersteve007 I hear you. Let's keep positivity up. Maybe try not to get you on an endless rant. :)
@@999thenewman lol I'll keep it real
Up with the Slappys and down to the ventures?
Im on that Slappy game for the endless future!
Haven't skated since i was at your spot last. 😢
basically yes
Impossibles shouldn’t be allowed in games of skate. Friendships have crumbled, feelings get hurt 😂
🤣 good way to get rid of the controversy
I wasn’t into these for the intended purpose. Seriously think they just took 99s and stuck a softer duro sticker on them and placebo’d our asses 😂
i would have to agree. spitfire fanboys needed something to talk about haha
Which way was the grain going on the birch? If its running parallel to the ramp it'll crack instantly. If its perpendicular then it should hold up. I find thats were the cost goes up significantly on these projects because you need full sheets and the grain doesn't allow for easy rips and a lot of waste.
@@sauceboss9313 it was parallel. And I think i got the wrong kind of birch
This things rad. A buddy had one and it had a generic “follow” setting rather than a facial recognition dealie.
I need to see if I can do that with this one. Would be nice to not cut off my legs haha
@@stickersteve007😂
The Couv looks sick.
If you like curbs and 9 months of rain haha
@@stickersteve007that’s too many rains 😢
@@Hi.Im.Levi. most definitely. It makes it really hard to skate
@@stickersteve007is the scene solid up there? Or is it mellow because it’s hard to skate??
@Hi.Im.Levi. it's pretty mellow. Not a lot of skaters in the town.
Thank you
@steezyjack58 No, thank you
Dope. The klean strip aerosol makes quick work of the modern heat press graphics. Just wipes right off
@Hi.Im.Levi. nice! Good to know. Thank you
buy pig and creature rails at your own risk. same with the santa cruz slimeline. those saw dust chambers are bs, those rails crack easily (as displayed) rib bones, og santa cruz and lil jawns are the way to go. also recommend putting on your trucks and wheels before rails to get a better idea where your wheels make contact with the deck (wheelbite) so you dont add even more wheelbite risk with rail. start with center screw and slight push on either end of rail before screwing in ends causing rail to make a slight U shape to avoid contact with wheel. also, the more toward center you install the rail the more you form a 'gas pedal' situation when in a board slide. what that means is if youre in a brdslde and you accidentally lean on your heels, youll speed up the slide causing a back slip. good for hurricanes or if its just what youre used to but installing your rails further in on the board is NOT going to make up for not being used to a wider board. this is all just physics. everything else like wheels and trucks, bearings is personal preference.
@josephfsanci8438 I only use lil jawns now. These creature rails were terrible. Didn't slide at all
Looks pretty cool, I skate curbs too and was hoping to see some footage. How are you getting the audio and not the drone blade noise? (just saw some of your other replies)
I'm sure you saw, but I use an external mic. If it ever stops raining I plan on experimenting with the drone more
@ I got a Neo too and have been my own testing. ruclips.net/video/fKlLw06GbUk/видео.html
Sizing ?
@@Uptxwn-Nai I'd say pretty true
@ thanks for the response bro for reference I wear a 9 UK for new balance and 8.5 for Jordan’s buying my first pair so hopefully I haven’t got to send them back
Street n park skating is some bs, it's all about being cool instead of skating, every freestyle n vert skaters skate with bearing covers n bearing spacer, just cuz you don't know how to use them properly, you need the right size spacer which is ment for bones, it was spitfire n cruiser wheels that had issues before, spacers reduce torque load n had stability, oh wow it "sounds bad" that doesn't fing matter, bearing covers keep them at top quality n does have to be cleaned every 9 months or so, without covers they can't reach peak performance, and you said no lube, you're bearings are gonna burn n break
@@ConnerWild My bearings are fine
Love my nano rats! Hands down my favorite wheels
@@colec6351 💯 they good!
Merry Christmas Sticker Steve!
Merry Christmas dude!
I don't see why the shields are such a divisive topic when Jamie Foy just advocated for skating dry bearings
@@Anoonymuss1 I didn't expect it to be so controversial 😅
@stickersteve007 it's a east-west difference I think. If I skate here in the winter and let the water with dissolved road salt freely run up into my bearings, it has the same corrosive effect that destroys the wheel well of our cars
my left ear really liked to listen
Loved your video. How about the coping reveal? Too much or just right?
@@nostrabox thank you! And I'd say just right
Any kind of fluid lubricant is going to add some resistance in the form of viscosity, oils have less viscosity than greases but still much more than air of course so dry bearings do operate faster and with less resistance without lubricant; however similar to an engine without oil they will wear faster and heat faster. If you prefer it, maybe try adding a dry lubricant like PTFE or a light spray of silicone, this would not attract dirt. There is truth to the abrasive paste theory presented in the video but this is addressed through cleaning and relubricating which is not needed often thanks to shields. These things exist for a reason, but so does the preference to go without them; personally I love the smooth solid feel of a well greased bearing over the rattling lightweight speed of shieldless or even a traditional oiled bearing; but it’s just a preference, people take it so seriously and it’s silly to be honest. Trust your feet, you know what’s right for you.
Foy is a class act, humble Florida dude. Loves his fishing. Shout out to Foy, the man's man, skater's skater and SOTY.
Do you remember which one it was?
Hey Steve which Jamie Foy DW board did you try that was symmetrical?
It was yellow and had a skeleton scarecrow or something on it. It was quite a long time ago now
Stoked on the Heroin deck, I do like the Eggs but only when they're bigger, 9.125 and up. Smaller eggs feel dinky and are too pointy..
100% agree. I tried the small eggs, and they were way too pointy for me
Dammit, missed this one.. Video is looking crisp now! So how's the concave on that deck, mellow? Have you tried bigger than 8.5? I would prefer a symmetrical 8.75 with 14" WB, haven't found one yet though.. I did buy a Heroin symmetrical popsicle 9 with 14,25 WB and razor edge. Should be fun. I currently ride a 8.75 Antihero Clown deck (non symmetrical) with 14.25" WB.
Little more concave than The girl twins, but not crazy different. Got to skate it today. It feels good so far
Foy definitely deserved it but Emile Laurent wins SOTY for me, absolutely insane NBDs in Portland, have to have lived and skated there to fully appreciate how gnarly the nbds are in the polar vid.
Late ganggg!!!!
@bigdeckenergy8119 better late than never! We should collab a live one dat dude. Talk about wheels n stuff
@ let me give live a try first and then we can get something going! I can’t do live on my computer because I don’t have an office and there’s a good chance one of my kids would walk by in their undies 😂
@bigdeckenergy8119 I totally understand haha. My boy didn't wear a shirt all day today and came into the live lol. I'd have to look into how to do a dual live anyways
@ I know I can do it off the GoPro. I’ll give it a try soon and then we can go from there!

100% true brother ❤
I skate an 8.5 with ace 55 classics. I like ace because it’s a good mix btw Indy and thunders. Height of thunders but skate more like an Indy. Also prefer having a 9 inch truck with an 8.5 to have max amount of stability and truck space for grinds. I try to find boards that have a “full shape” to them like quasi or hockey decks
