Hey Chaos Fragrance I know you like citrus fragrances and I was wondering if you could do a top 10 citrus fragrances video I’m really curious too see what your favorite ones are
Found it on Frag X for $79 which was $18 cheaper than on Frag Net (tax and shipping included). I went ahead and purchased it and I may get another bottle soon. I'm blind buy but I trust you on this fragrance. Have a good weekend man.
I always wanted to buy the original Dior Homme, but never liked it. I never understood the hype behind it. I smelled the new one at Macy’s yesterday and I had to buy it. To me, it smells so much better than the original one.
For someone that loves fragrances like TdH, Sauvage, Aventus, Cedrat Boise or any woody citrus for that matter and says he had to scrub this one off, I am having a very hard time believing you are telling your actually thoughts on this. I feel like you are just repeating what other reviewers have said countless times. This is a very nice scent and for someone your age/characteristics (not an offense), this fragrance fits you SO MUCH more than the original Dior Homme. I agree that it does not belong in the Dior Homme line, but it is not a bad fragrance, at all. Certainly not a scrubber.

I am completely disagree with you. I have this one and the other version. And guess what? DH 2020 gave me a lot more complement's. Plus! I like the smell, projection and longevity. To me! Awesome fragance. Very Mass appealing.
I just bought a 100ml bottle today. Tried it at the store in the test strips. Liked it and bought it. Sprayed it on myself and I loved it. Smells better than what I smelled at the store. I recommend

Agreed. If they had simply come up with a new name I bet the reviews would look heaps different. That's only thing that really annoys me about this change, despite never having smelt it...
Give it a new, interesting name, release some decent flankers in the future (which Dior are known for and do better than most designer houses) and it would have been so much better. The name itself is literally my only gripe about this.

True!! Its a nice scent but too light for me. I don’t know why many peole says its very good projection & sillage. Its too soft. But its smells really good & elegance.

I think the problem the critics are having with this fragrance, is the reformulation, wich is really great, I applied about eight sprays 6:30am this morning, it's now 6:34 p.m and i still smell it, I received compliments, but then again when I sampled Dior homme 2020 me and my girlfriend was blown away by it, I can't understand where all the hate is coming from, believe me before I purchase this bottle I walked around Macy's for at least 40 minutes giving it the smell test before I bought it.

IN ALL HONESTY !! This cologne has gotten me the most intense compliments in public . No lie !! It’s on the same level as sauvage when it comes to lady reactions ! I can’t agree that this was a mistake

It was a mistake, because the killed the Original DH. That what he means, the fragrance is fine, but why killing DH Original ?

I don’t like how the original Dior Homme smelled, in my opinion this smells better
I received a bottle of the original from Neiman Marcus a few weeks ago. Way too heavy on the lipstick, cosmetic bag scent 🤢 Yes, I know it’s the Iris. I fell into the hype of the original (without sampling it first). It’s all good. I’m fairly new to the frag game and really like this hobby. This hobby way cheaper than my wrist watch addiction, LOL!
A few days later, I went to NM, explained (BSed) to them that this is the old original and I expected something different like the new one. They took it back no questions asked. I tried the new DH 2020 liked it much, much better and exchanged the original for it 🙌
I actually REALLY enjoy this scent and bought it after trying it on my skin. I disagree with using the Dior Homme name though. They should have just started a new line.
DH 2020 is so underrated smells better than any of the older Homme versions imo but yea its not really comparable with them, Dior should have used another name for this.
And a different looking bottle.

It doesn't smell bad at all, granted it might not live up to its namesake I traded my John Paul Gautier ultra mail for a bottle because the Dior is way more versatile
This fragrance has an absolutely amazing dry down, it reminds me of ferragamo f black for some reason, absolutely amazing, i love original Dior homme, and i have the original silver stem from 2006 which i treasure, but this is now my new daily fragrance
Aventus Creed is also synthetic.

Q: We have a mixture of limonene, pinene, terpinene and terpineol (plus a couple other things). Is this synthetic?
A: Perhaps, but not necessarily. All of these chemicals are components of lemon oil.
Q: So, what's the difference between synthetically produced limonene and naturally isolated limonene?
A: Chemically, nothing. There's something called stereochemistry which we'll gloss over for now, but synthetic R-(+)-Limonene and natural R-(+)-Limonene are the same.
Q: Are synthetics nasty?
A: They can be, but not necessarily. There's more control over synthetic moieties which means they may not trigger allergic reactions like naturals can. They can be but the likelihood is these wouldn't make it to the market, or would be heavily restricted.
Q: Are naturals safe?
A: Not necessarily. To extract naturals, sometimes you need hefty non-polar solvents like hexane. Though these are largely removed during the extraction process, there is the possibility for some to remain. The isolated ingredient may not be safe, either. e.g. ricin from castor beans (and yes, I do enjoy watching Breaking Bad), or known allergens.
Thing is that Dior Homme, the classic, was overshadowed by the Intense and the Parfum: It just wasn't selling enough!
They asked themselves how the Dior man signature should smell nowdays, and this is the answer. They kept "almost" the same formula for the Intense / Parfum, with Iris and stuff. Now they have three products that are not redundant to have, that works in different situations and for different targets (now even those who don't like iris could approach the line).
That's also why I don't see the name as a bad choice... it's their default signature!

I love the fact of this premature reviews kind of put this fragrance out of the radar of of the regular mainstream fragance world. It's a beautiful classy minimalist fragrance. It continues to grow in my taste.

The iris Dior Hommes are so underwhelming. I tried them out after seeing the hype from the frag comm snobs. Dior Homme 2020 is the pick of the line for those of us who don't over analyze fragrances and just want to smell good.
So I just got this one by mistake actually (asked for DH cologne at the counter, got a bottle of DH2020 instead 😂) but I decided to give it a shot before returning it and honestly surprised at both the performance and the compliments even from strangers. The scent profile is a little basic or generic maybe but honestly it smells great. Gotta agree that for anyone who wore the 2011 version and loved it (I never did) this is probably a big letdown because it’s very different but taken on its own this is very good IMO
Dior wanted to make safe money but fooling their customers is a bad thing. This is only possible in the Perfum industry because all that matters when it comes to perfumes is the scent. And the price of course. It's a great scent, so, who cares about a raging community.

Original smells really good almost a must have smell, but I thought it was a slight little too sweet. 2020 smells more manly and better imo

I got a decant of Dior 2020. I do have the previous versions and flankers. I find it quite pleasant but it is nothing at all like the previous versions. I’m really baffled at why they would name it Dior Homme. Great review and presentation.

@@Denco12 Contrary to popular belief, not all fragrance enthusiasts/hobbyists cream their pants and circle-jerk over the original Dior Homme line. I always found it cloying, feminine and very waxy on my skin -- especially the Parfum. Just a very uncomfortable fragrance overall for me personally 🤷♂️
If I want a nice iris, I'll go with:
- Prada L'Homme for day time and spring/summer.
- Armani Eau de Nuit for night time and winter/autumn.
Skippy Exactly same with me If I want a good iris I usually go with Valentino uomo intense!
@@Gaming4Ohio I always liked that as well, still a tiny bit heavy on the iris but I do enjoy it from time to time in winter, especially out at night.
This is why I like Armani Eau de Nuit so much -- the iris note is playing the supporting actor, not the lead role. You get just enough to know it's there whilst being undeniably masculine.

You know what’s funny I got this today after sampling it (2020) and the intense. I will pick the 2020 10 times before reaching out to the intense! now I’m not saying the intense is bad but the longevity of the 2020 (EDT) is INSANE! this thing still smells fresh on my skin after 7hrs and I can still smell it on my shirt the intense is still there too but I smell the 2020 like 7 times before I can even smell the intense once (Sprayed them separately on my left and right) These things work differently for ppl it’s dangerous to go with the crowd sometimes do your OWN research first … don’t blind buy cause damage control can be expensive sometimes 😉

Strategic addition of their portfolio to target people that feel Sauvage is to sharp/loud/offending. A true classic/elegant/office scent like contender, in direction of Terre dHermes, Bleu de Chanel, Guerlain pour Homme. Actually more like the last two mentioned, cause of that mature/oldschool vibe. All in all, its not a bad scent, also not outstanding vs the competition. Dior advertise it as „strong sillage“, which is not true. Its a skinscent very quickly, thats the only thing I would complain here.
I have been trying it the last couple of days and it is just "meh" for me. I got a sample, and was excited to try since I do enjoy Dior Homme Sport '21 a lot...this one just seems so faint to me, and there is nothing about that really grabs my attention.
Smelt dam gud to me...im currently saving up for some Dior privés though so ill just wait for the reformulated version

How many sprays do you do with this? I never know how many sprays to go with frags with a lot of iso e super cause I can’t smell it.
I fall in this category too. Can't smell it immediately after spraying. I thought it was a fake or bad batch but i have 3 bottles and all same and from different sellers. I finally discovered it was me being nose blind to it. I guess its the iso e. Too bad cause others smell it on me but i just don't.
I love Dior homme intense and I love this too.
I just blind purchased DH2020 and have gotten a couple of complements today wearing it. It is a great fragrance that has mass appeal. Fragrance snobs need to check themselves.
I love DH 2020! woodsy smoky just as Dior advertises it.. it’s safe for hot days.. also just because there is Sauvage does not mean DH2020 can’t exist, because they’re still so different, Sauvage has ambroxan for one. DH2020 draws compliments, and I enjoy it and find myself missing its woodsy-smoky note from time to time, too.
Wore it today first time had it on and I was asked by mate what is it hes getting some.
Just got a sample of this stuff in the mail I think it’s awesome yes it’s kinda basic but so we’ll done and holy crap I’m buying a bottle of this very good I think if you just want a nice smelling cologne and others around you too

Thanks for your thoughts. I've seen all the reviews and it seems that people need to let it go. I blind bought this one and quite enjoy it...versatile, smells great, all season, all occasion. A fantastic easy reach fragrance. Stock up on the old stuff and let's move on already, not everyone is that into fragrance.
The KEYWORD mentioned in the Dior Homme 2020 is "redefine", with that said i feel like Demachy wanted his OWN version of what HOMME is for the Dior brand since the original DNA of previous Dior Homme (original) in its inception was made by Olivier Polge which was based mainly on iris.
@Calvin M.. Yeah I can understand. I just hate renaming it that. I would have been more accepting with a slight bottle shape change a "Dior Homme Nouveau" label. If it's "2020" that will become dated, if it's "Nouveau," essentially it will always be "new"

As far as I understand the previous Dior Homme becomes Dior Homme Original now and will still be available. At least in the EU. The Parfum is super hard to get, the Intense is still available. The new one is not bad at all but it is such a standard basic fragrance that I don't care about it at all.

They ditched the Irish note because Iris is expensive. It’s a real shrewd move. Plus if they wanted to make a new cologne they should’ve just named it Dior de blue. Or just named a new DIor fragrance that smells like Chanel blue without the aquatic smell.

I bought this fragrance by mistake. The lady gave me the new one instead of the the old version. But, I did not give it back because I like it. It’s not the great fragrance but is pleasant for me and I enjoy wearing it.
They shouldn't use the "Dior Homme" name for such a fragrance. I don't know why they did that.

Yeah there’s definitely some molecule in there that makes you go nose blind. But it’s actually not that bad I got a few samples I enjoy it, I never smelled the original though. If I could get a good enough deal on it I would purchase it. Another thing to keep in mind is there supposed to be a round of sweeping regulations coming into effect they might’ve design this Fragrance with those in mind so they wouldn’t have to reformulate or change it
The opening is similar to Artisan Aqua by John Varvatos for 1/4 the price.

I wore Aventus to work and tonight I went to dinner with my girl and wore Eros, at her request.
It smells unfinished like they got a base and were supposed to give it a focus note or character then ran out of time and had to release it as is. It’s pleasant, but also uninspired, forgettable and again like they forgot something.
I like it. I’m wearing it today.

Dude Dallas I got some bad news for you. I already talked about what's going to happen with the original Dior Homme on my channel (it's official news too I work at a department store) but Dior Homme Eau is going to be discontinued which sucks I like that one. There will be a new Dior Homme Intense and there's a chance it will replace the dior homme intense the fragcomm loves (I haven't gotten any news on what will happen with Dior Homme Intense yet I will ask the buyer of fragrance at my store on monday. The Original Dior Homme Intense is still on the french site of Dior for now. But Dior Homme Eau is done.

I could be wrong but maybe they're thinking something along the lines of: it's a new decade and a new era. The iris note in the original line has had a good run but let's change course and make something a bit more mass-appealing, a Sauvage alternative for those that just don't like it or don't want to wear it because of it's enormous popularity...one heavy on Iso-E, the other heavy on ambroxan. Kinda makes sense but it's only a theory.
I'll have to smell it myself first but based on Fragrantica, I'll probably like it, maybe not love it or consider it bottle-worthy but I'll probably find it decent just based on the notes. That and usually if girls like a scent, I'll end up liking it 80-90% of the time. Maybe I have girly taste or something but I seem have this ability to know if chicks will dig a scent in 10-15 minutes of wearing it.
It wasn't in the Dior boutique last time I went but I'll be heading back there in around 3 weeks, so maybe they'll have it then. We can often get things a month or two after the U.S. and Europe in the big retailers.

The name and the packaging (bottle look) was of course a big mistake because they fooled their customers in order to make safe money. But in the end, all that matters is the scent and it is a fantastic sent.

It's not discontinued, Dior changed the name of the old one to Dior Homme Original, its on the website already.

First I didn't like it. But then I got it: it's probably a masterpiece, but it's too weak. When this comes out in Intense version people will stumble over each other how amazing this one is.

@Kevin Gunawan... I heard that it still sells well in parts of Europe, but in the States sales was lagging, especially compared to SAUVAGE. So rumor has it, that the original will still be available in those markets in Europe where it sells. The rest of the world will now have this new blue fragrance. We are currently trending in a BLUE direction so I understand the "why" they wanted to replace their flagship fragrance's namesake but I don't like it. For me it is disrespectful toward the original. It is also confusing to people that use the original as their signature scent and do not pay attention to frag comm whatsoever. Imagine buy this new version expecting the original Iris one? Oh boy. Dior could have just ended the original for year and then come back with this new fragrance and slightly change the bottle shape and call it "Dior Homme Nouveau," and people wouldn't hate it so much. I don't hate what I haven't smelled, but I already have a ton of non offensive blue frags and I'm not in the market for another one.

It’s amazing it smells beautiful and more manly … i would rather not smell of lipstick… the woody notes and musk is sensational.

For those that have this in their rotation, how many sprays are you guys using? I just recently got a bottle and have yet to use it. Seems like one of those fragrances where “less is more” so I’m curious to hear how successful this scent is in public in combination with the amount of sprays.

I recently purchased a decant of Dior Homme 2020 last month.
Now, I've only been on my "fragrance odyssey" seriously for a couple of years but this smells close to Prada L'homme.🤷🏾♂️..🤔
Good review! I'm not alone. I felt betrayed when my purchase arrived. Dior really should have called it something else, anything else. It does not resemble in any way it's gourmand predecessors. James Bond in the barbershop comes to mind.
I just ordered 10 bottles of the original homme, because I tried the new and I did not really like it. I miss the old Dior line, when the iris was a dominant note in it.

Dallas I agree. I was writing my comment while the video was playing and toward the end you hit on my thoughts as well. I don't have any interest in this but the masses will. I also think that Frag Comm would have accepted this a lot better if Dior created an entire new line (let's say Dior Homme Nouveau) and then phase out the original, instead of renaming the new fragrance the same as the legendary original. Perhaps all that was needed was a little differentiation? The new bottle could have kept the same appearance but replace the rectangular bottle with a more modern cylinder shape? Oh well. I'm sure Dior will be fine even though I don't like the direction they went with it. I already bought two backup bottles each of the original Dior Homme, Parfum, Intense. I believe it is only a matter of time before all of the IRIS versions get discontinued.

I’ve always hated the Dior Homme line. I hate Iris and they are all Iris bombs. I like Cologne but it’s weak as far as performance was to be expected.
I got a 5ml decant of this as I heard they went off course from the Iris heavy norms. I thought it smelled like weak piss water. I hate the Dior line and I was disappointed in what they’ve done to this line. Even though I don’t like them. They were always stellar performance and have a lot of depth. Not 2020. It’s trash

Dior Homme old school (2011) is overrated and no one is buying it or wearing it. It gets some nostalgia, there are youtubers that pay it some homage for really mainstreaming that iris note 10 years ago, but it's nothing special and most importantly - no one is buying it or wearing it in 2019-2020. Dior could either kill the line off or reformulate. The 2020 version smells very nice.
What ever molecule is in there, it cuts off my sense of smell after about 10 seconds. And DHI isn't on the site anymore. SMH

Hi, I tested, and in my skin is something between Encre noir and Terre d'hermes. Very disappointing, like a weak encre noir. I don't going to buy it, for me it's a stepback for Dior. Cheers!
The scent seems dull as fk to the user. But if the people around us love it, maybe Dior know something we don't know!

God this smells entirely like camphor.. And having grown up in India, this gives me a headache because I just feel like I'm in a temple the whole time. Not that that's bad but I just don't want to put myself in that particular mood the entire time. Ugh
