As a general rule, fragrances get stronger and deeper with age. The 2014 bottle has been matured and macerated naturally over the years. So the 2020 version in 2026 may be closer in depth and intensity to the 2014 version. Have you ever thought about that?
For everyone who is concerned about the reformulation for new Dior Homme Intense 2020. The 2020 DHI has the same formulation as the juice in DHI which run from the Mid 2017 till date. The formulation code is 10950/A. So don't worry and enjoy the juice. Unless you like the old box and the old bottle design
The new 2020 version is watered down in my opinion. Doesn't smell as intense as before and the longivity is a joke. The color of the liquid is also much brighter. Which is an indicator of a higher water level
I remember back in 2016 I ordered DHI off of eBay. I remember waiting at home for the mailman to deliver it while it was "our for delivery" and it never came. I contacted the postal service and they told me to ask neighbors if they have it. It was just a loss of money for absolutely no reason. I never even tried to order the fragrance again. But at the time DHI was only like 63 dollars instead of 100+ like we see now. This still angers me to this day.
Only Dior Homme 2020 was reformulated. The 2020 Intense version is the same as 2011, only the bottle was changed. A more realistic compare will be with a Intense 2011 bottle from the beginning of 2019. Your bottle already have 6 year maturation.

So basically the new DHI 2020 is still the same formulation with the 2017 (and up) batches, the code 10950/A shows the formula. Aside from the og 2007, there are three reformulations already: 2011, 2014, 2017. Ash has got his 2014 DHI compared to the new one which is lighter but still shares the same scent profile, so a little difference is obvious, it's still DHI anyway. Thankfully :) #cmiiw
I posted a longer comment asking the same thing. I have a feeling that Ashton has never checked formula codes. It's possible that Ashton never smelled all these different variations and that's why he thinks there's a difference. It's also possible that the oils in his 12/19 DHI bottle need to macerate a bit. These are the DHI formula codes and I'm waiting for Ashton to mention the code on the box he bought (I'd like to know where he picked it up so I can avoid the place for awhile and get the older version). original (2007-2010): formula 03214/A 2011-2014: formula 05443/A 2015-2016 formula 08666/A 2017-???? formula 10950/A
@@shave-a-thon3415 10950/A is confirmed 2017-now. I've researched some of the newest purchases of DHI 2020 accross the fragcom. From many infos I've gathered-general DHI users like us to specific Dior's employee-it can be concluded that, after 2017, no future reformulation for DHI anytime soon. Thankyou for summoning the remaining formula codes btw! :)
@@PerfectlyFreedom You're welcome! It's possible that the difference in color between the color of Ashton's bottle and the current one is either due to the last several formulations or that Ashton's bottle has matured 6 years and the oils have slightly changed color.
I cant smell any difference between 2018 und 2020 Version. Formular Code is also identical. At least the juice didnt change with the new bottle. 2014 version has different formular code though
I posted a longer comment about the formula codes. I'm even sure Ashton knows about them as he's never mentioned formula codes in his reviews (and they're on many fragrance boxes from quite a few houses). *Is the formula code on the new DHI - formula 10950/A ? If so, there's no change in the scent * and the difference that Ashton is smelling is the difference between the last two formulas and the 2014 formula code 05443/A. Remember that there was a 2015 reformulation with a formula code of 08666/A in between. I think DHI 10950/A has been out since 2017. It's also possible that Ashton's new Dec. 2019 bottle has to wait for some of the oils to macerate.
Dior Homme intense 2012 and the original Issey were the first two fragrances I ever bought. Heartbreaking to see them just dissappear into existence like this. Feels like an end of an era.
It's possible the oils get slightly darker after a few years. You should see what my 35 year old bottle of Giorgio for Men by Giorgio of Beverly Hills looks like. It was green when I bought it and it's brown now.

I actually talked to a Dior representative the other day and she assured me that the DHI scent is in fact the same and has NOT been changed even though the bottle has a new look.
@@mszigetihu Considering how completely open and obvious they are about the reformulation of Dior Homme and even marketing it as "the new fragrance", why would they then be sneaky about a reformulation of DHI? That doesn't really make much sense. There have been previous reformulations of DHI and they haven't been done in secret either.
@@tamlin420 They, those were done in secret pretty much. The fragrance community noticed of course, but it was never officially announced by the company. Concerning color: often the naturals change color by time. So it would be worth having a look to the bottle in about 4-6 years! The glas appears to be a little grayish - maybe that makes the juice looking slightly desaturated?

The only tolerable iris fragrance i have smelled so far and liked is Valentimo Uomo Aqua because the iris is light and it has a leather dry down.
Where did you pick this up?
I'm super anxious to try the Galleria scents. As much as you dog on these big houses I can only expect yours to be better.
I just got the 2020 version when in Mexico. Gotta say I really like it, I would still love to smell the original but it’s a nice combo with the new homme 2020 for daily wears that won’t choke anyone out lol.
My bottle of 2020 has a bee on the atomizer as well as inside the cap.
Mine too
DHI2020 smells so gourmand to me like Angel food cake.
Honest review. Thank you
Is the formula code the same on both boxes? That usually was a way of telling if it was reformulated or not. But from what you are saying...they clearly have done that.
@Justin TX1988 this is exactly the point I wanted to make afterwards. Very true!
@@Demirel32 These are the formula codes. He doesn't have the 2017 to mid 2019 boxes since he only has the 2014 version. Others are saying his Dec. 2019 DHI 2020 has the same exact formula as the earlier bottles (10950/A):
original (2007-2010): formula 03214/A
2011-2014: formula 05443/A
2015-2016 formula 08666/A
2017-???? formula 10950/A
Great review.
Where do you get your frags, my brother? I can’t find half of these you mention (jpg aviator, HOMME Intense 2020, etc) but I want them SO much. Tips?
Hi, a little late reply but he has a whole video on that topic here on yt...he mentioned a couple of reliable discounter sites like fragrancenet.com for which you can find a 35 percent off coupon always available online and fragrancebuy.ca in Canada...
DIOR, DON'T FIX THINGS THAT'S NOT BROKEN.
NOT BUYING YOUR JUNK RECENT RELEASES.
The original smelt like a girl. Buy the new reformulation if you want a more masculine scent.
Bought a week ago a 150 ml bottle of DHI2020. Quite disappointed, frankly not very intense. Week longevity and almost no sillage. I'll try it again in spring :-)
Hi, did it change after a year?
How performance?
Fragrances also go off. You have to use them. Keep in dark space without sunlight.
Everyday scent u right dude, its very charming
Please where can I buy Dior Homme Intense 2020 and the new La Nuit? I looked online and I’m either special or blind but I can’t find these two.. I don’t understand why they aren’t sold locally...if I was a Jimmy Choo or Old Spice fan I’d be set...unfortunately I am not.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
That's what I thought. Ash basically wasn't aware DHI was already changed again in 2017.
I posted a longer comment asking the same thing. I have a feeling that Ashton has never checked formula codes. It's possible that Ashton never smelled all these different variations and that's why he thinks there's a difference. It's also possible that the oils in his 12/19 DHI bottle need to macerate a bit. These are the DHI formula codes and I'm waiting for Ashton to mention the code on the box he bought (I'd like to know where he picked it up so I can avoid the place for awhile and get the older version).
original (2007-2010): formula 03214/A
2011-2014: formula 05443/A
2015-2016 formula 08666/A
2017-???? formula 10950/A
yes, thanks for clearing this up for all the readers!
Why companies destroyed their fragrances?
I cant smell any difference between 2018 und 2020 Version. Formular Code is also identical. At least the juice didnt change with the new bottle. 2014 version has different formular code though
I posted a longer comment about the formula codes. I'm even sure Ashton knows about them as he's never mentioned formula codes in his reviews (and they're on many fragrance boxes from quite a few houses). *Is the formula code on the new DHI - formula 10950/A
It smells excellent, I sampled it.
Your shirt is freaking me out
Exactly what I was looking for
I was waiting for a spin after the clap lol
Vanillazilla79 haha same here
Same.
😂😂😂😂
But why is the new one lighter and the old intense darker? If they are the same
It's possible the oils get slightly darker after a few years. You should see what my 35 year old bottle of Giorgio for Men by Giorgio of Beverly Hills looks like. It was green when I bought it and it's brown now.
Shave- a-thon yes I believe that, but if you have two new bottles from both you see also a difference
@@dondiablo5583 In the video Ashton is comparing a pre-2017 bottle to the 2020 bottle. If it's the older formula, then Ashton has a 2014 bottle. That might be darker than all the bottles from 2017 on. These are all the formula (not batch) codes for DHI:
Dior Homme Intense EdP formula codes:
original (2007-2010): formula 03214/A
2011-2014: formula 05443/A
2015-2016 formula 08666/A
2017-date formula 10950/A
Shave- a-thon okey thanks dude 👍🏻
@@dondiablo5583 You're very welcome! I'm surprised these reviewers don't know this information or if they do, at least provide it in the "show more" areas of their videos.
I have a 2019 bottle and a 2020 bottle and I honestly struggle to notice any difference. If there is a difference it is minimal and only shows up mid-drydown. I actually talked to a Dior representative the other day and she assured me that the DHI scent is in fact the same and has NOT been changed even though the bottle has a new look.
Of course a sales rep will say that..
The new Dior Homme is marketed as a new fragrance and not really considered a reformulation, they changed it completely, that's a totally different thing again.
There's no difference in the bottles from 2019 and 2020. The formula code on the boxes is the same.
Hi, could you please give a brief talk about its projection and longevity?
thanks alot.
Concerning color: often the naturals change color by time. So it would be worth having a look to the bottle in about 4-6 years! The glas appears to be a little grayish - maybe that makes the juice looking slightly desaturated?
Hey Ash, what's the formula code for your bottle? For example the pre 2017 formula was 08666/A. People are saying the formula for this new one is the same as the last reformulation.
Ash has a 2014 bottle which is a 05443/A formula code
2015 is 08666/A
2017 and 2020 are 10950/A
So no wonder he's noticing a difference because it's several reformulations between.
Do you think is better getting molecule 1 instead of Dior home 2020
Ash, where did you by the newer bottle?
How have u managed to get the graphics out of focus too?
Oh, hold on. My phone is just grunt
So are they gonna discontinue the original Dior Homme intense? 🤨
@David Ukaegbu... If I were a betting man....I'd bet they are going to discontinue the original.
DHI is no longer on the Dior French website, its only DHI 2020
@@jonathanserrano1471 Yeah I suspected this was going to happen. It was only a matter of time.
@@tiredoffools8929 I hear that the formula code is the same though. I also heard that the batch codes do have differing scents and performance, however I don't know how credible that it is
Still waiting for the full review......a year later
I think the new intense is far better than DH 2020. It's definitely more similar to the original.
I tought that I were buying the original.
Now I understand with your video that I bought the new one haha
I appreciate the smell, I think that it's strong by the way...
Pls do a complete review of the fragrance
New dior homme intense 2020 is same fragrance as original dhi bottle from 2018
Domagoj Mišić Thats what I’m hearing as well.
@@robophobic3716 @Gents Scents, are you sure it is reformulated?
According to Fragnatica.com DHI 2020 doesn't have the iris note.
@@Flosseveryday I can't see the new DHI on Fragrantica yet - the Dior Homme 2020 doesn't have the iris note
@@AlexKnappa90 it won't be on fragrantica either because it's the same juice, just new presentation.
Hey it was out of focus at the beginning
Unfortunately isn't available in Brazil. I hope this fragrance comes soon.
Where in the world did you get this? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the DC area.
Dior is out of focus
Im looking for a replacement for Armani Code Ultimate which is sadly discontinued. Think this one may work?
what is the opening harsh note in DHI? I do not like this harsh start (like a bitter anise or whiskey like smell) that ruins it for me, cause the dry down is AMAZING
Bro I sprayed it on my wrist and went to smell it and it made me sneeze it was so strong
Amazing scent!! 🔥
How come I can't find this DHI 2020 bottle? DH 2020 seems to be the only one that can be purchased.
You're lucky then because the new bottle is uglier
Fragrance apprentice? The microphone makes me think of his vids
Interesting . . . not on my try or buy list. I love the original Intense too much.
Thanks for sharing . . .
