Our Homemade Play-Doh Recipe:
- 1 1/2 Cups of flour
- 1/2 Cup of salt
- 2 tbsp cream of tartar
- 1 tbsp of oil
- 1 cup of warm water
- Food coloring (you need at least 10-20 drops to have a strong color)
Mix dry ingredients (Flour, salt, cream of tartar) Add oil. Add food color to water and slowly mix in small amounts of colored water as you mix in to the dry ingredients with a spoon. Finally mix all together with your hands. If the mixture feels too runny, add more flour until you reach the desired play-doh consistency.
Nice shelf, I love the stitched towel
This was SUCH a great video mama!
Thank you for sharing!
You have such a wonderful fun setup! You’ve given me some ideas that I will be incorporating into our routine.
Yay! 💛 happy you found this helpful
So fun to see and hear about your homeschooling setup at home outside of IG!
Aw that’s awesome. I’ve gotten people ask me for Montessori activities to kids younger than 2yrs old and I always refer them to your videos 💛
Hi Julie,
You're one of my favorite channels and so good to see this content. Would also love to see what your daily schedule and routines look like with two kids. Thanks! :)
Thank you! Yes, that’s some thing I could do, thank you for the idea
Hey, thanks for the playdoh recipe idea! How do you store your playdoh for it to last and how often to you make it ? Thank you!
Thank you for all the tips! I love the toy shelf, where can I buy it?
Hi, the shelf is from IKEA but it seems to have been discontinued 😕 it’s the IKEA PS 2017 Shelf just in case it is in stock where you are
What homeschool curriculum do u use?
Hi Juli! Love this video and I’m setting up our Montessori area for my twins. Wondering where your white and wood colored shelf is from? Thank you!
Hi! This shelf is the IKEA PS 2017 Shelf. It's been discontinued in the US for some time now, but maybe it's available where you are? or you maybe can find a secondhand one.
Thanks for the tips!
Currently shopping for some sandpaper numbers. May I ask for the link for yours?
How long is your learning session?
Do you have to certified in Montessori I live in Texas
Hi Julie,
Loved your video and the great ideas. I’ve been trying to do activities with my 19 month old but I find he gets bored after 5 min and then just wants to throw everything. Any suggestions? He’s been obsessed with wanting to watch cartoons on the iPad and I’ve been trying to limit the amount of iPad time. We also think he’s going through the “terrible twos” because he throws temper tantrums if he doesn’t get his way. Did your son go through that stage? If so, what are some things you did to over come it? I also noticed he won’t play on his own unless I’m there.
Any ideas you have will be much appreciated! Thank you and I love your videos :)
This is ALL very normal! As far as playing on his own, yes, toddlers want to be around us, they can play on their own but they always feel more comfortable knowing we are there with them, it’s not until later on that they begin to separate and feel comfortable without our immediate presence, it takes time. As far as not being interested in Montessori activities I highly highly encourage you to listen to this podcast, this is totally normal for his age open.spotify.com/episode/3JbwNeEjGShUi3tjIrGqSA?si=o5_osF_qTCKOjyGg2z7JKw
And yes, I also AM going through the tantrums with my son. I know it’s a season he’s working through really big feelings and learning to deal with that, for this I recommend checking out Janet Lansbury. She has a podcast and a lot of info on navigating through this very aligned with Montessori. I really hope you find some of this helpful and remember that even with this advice you will begin to figure out what works for your kids and family the best, I just hope this can give you a little guidance as you navigate through this time 💛
