I'm so excited to dive into Crown of Feathers soon (I have a lovely OwlCrate edition though I might just pick up a regular edition too because I love Phoenix's!) and I read the first Keeper of the Lost Cities at the beginning of this month on your recommendation which I loved and hope to continue soon (impatiently waiting for my library hold to come through). Seems like a wonderful place to have a vacation as you can't go wrong with s'mores, reading lounge and a self-serve coffee bar! Matilda is adorable particularly snuggling up on Clay's legs!

I wonder if Clay would like more historical fiction like Code Name Verity, The Bronze Horsemen, and Between Shades of Gray. Do you guys plan to watch Legends of Korra after you finish Airbender? I hated LoK at first... I had grown up on Airbender and so I just couldn't see how they could do another show that didn't have our beloved characters in it (though, they actually ARE in the show... just older) but I ultimately fell in love with it! I liked the style, I felt like it got an upgrade. The themes were really cool... it felt like it was inspired by like the 1920s and 1940s which was really cool. And the story and characters felt a little more mature... perhaps even a little more interesting as an adult. Plus, while it didn't happen until the end, I think LoK was the first American cartoon to rep a queer relationship within the main cast of characters!
Omg Regan I watched it too, on Netflix, and said exactly EVERYTHING you said, and feel the same way, it disturbed me so much I couldn't sleep and had nightmares all night! Anywho, on a side note, we hope you had a great time! Looks like an awesome place! 😊💕💯

I watched that documentary and I agree 100% that the parents were pretty much unforgivable. Regardless if it was the 70s/80s I just think there were too many signs that something was amiss.
I’m thinking about asking for a trip like this for just me and my husband for my bday. We go on many vacays but we have 4 kids so sitting and relaxing with a book isn’t something that happens a lot lol. Parents don’t get vacations, we just take care of our kids in another city lol.
