- Honda Transmission Plant.
The plant began producing automatic transmissions for North American-built models in 1996. Previously, from 1989 to 1996, the Anna Engine Plant had produced automatic transmissions for U.S.-built vehicles. HTM expanded its capability to produce high-precision gears in 2006. In 2007, production of rear differentials and transfer cases was added for all-wheel-drive automobiles. The plant began producing CVT transmissions in August 2012. In 2014, it became the first automotive manufacturing facility in the U.S. to obtain a substantial amount of its electricity directly from two wind turbines located on its property. - Авто/Мото
I also used to have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid with CVT auto. This transmission required a fluid change/flush about once every two years. Otherwise it would have a bad chatter/vibration from a stop and sometimes the belt would slip. The friction coefficient of the steel belt was critical and when the fluid got old the belt would loose friction. I suspect people who had CVT problems were not aggressively changing the fluid like I was.
Of note, when I bought my HCH in 2003, the owners manual called for using Honda ATF for the CVT. It was about one year after I bought the car, Honda came out with their CVT fluid. I think Honda became aware of CVT slipping and formulated a new fluid.
This is not the same transmission. This is a second generation cvt
It is almost unbelievable to see the computerized automated machine tools that have been made to put the Transmissions together along with the employees who work the assembly lines. The field of machine engineering is just amazing and it is hard to believe how it has evolved since the Steam Engines of the 1800s and then the Car Manufacturing by Henry Ford to the modern era.
Fascinating!
There is no doubt that Honda has excellent assembly operations w/ high quality and efficiency. Upon viewing the video, I was suprised that parts of the Honda factory seemed loud, poorly lit and a bit dingy. This suprised me as I recently saw a video of Chrysler automatic transmission manufacture, and the plant looked newer, cleaner and quieter, though the late stage assembly at Honda appeared to be producing more product.
thats the difference of union plant vs non union plant
@@EpicConspiracy Honda is not union
amazing how organized us hominids can be when we want to.
you sound like a robot alien
Amazing
I hope these new type of Transmissions hold up, I just bought a 2015 CRV
News flash i got 2015 Crv im trading out this POS!! they lost there WAY in terms of quality
@@jondabaptist8239 yeah, I had a 2008 Honda Element that I trade it in for this thing..... The element was pretty much Rock solid
@@paulienet The 2015 CRV is the first CRV year to feature CVTs.
I work at PT HPPM Indonesia. Honda transmission assembly industry in Indonesia.
How in God's name did we humans ever come up with this complexity?
Good
HONDA=👍😊.
how the transmission case is made? I need to make a customize case
Why
Kinda easy now considering many honda aftermarket performance shops are machining billet transmission cases for the manual transmissions and making their own gear sets.
All it takes is MONEY and then go find a qualified engineering and machining company to make it all happen.
this is splendid, I'd love to see this in Africa soon
I'd like to see flying horses
They would have in flying workers,
Honda the world is greats 💘💝💖💫👍👌
i love you honda /i love you toyota
Honda is the best....hi tech men..
I have a Civic hybrid with CVT. It has 180 000 miles. No problem so far. Every car manufactor has their problems. I like japanese cars, I think they are the most reliable. If they fail, it does not cost too much the repairs
The CVT transmisions, are very cheap to manufactor, simpe mechanics, and the most reliable automatic transmisions.
"most reliable" you obviously know nothing about CVT
@@eksine Yes....he probably has his Civic on regular maintenance; otherwise, it is already dead on his Civic's CVT long before 100,000 miles.....to replace a CVT ....it is very expensive ....costing from 4k to 7k in u s dollars. Regular Maintenance is the key for longer life of the car's components.
@@themiddlekingdom9121 no I was saying the cvt design is not reliable. there's tons of problems with it
@@eksine Oh....yes....CTV is an old technology and they have not perfect it yet.
My Accord has the six speed manual, so it came from Japan.
pararel parking on a steep hill, between 2 cars, must have been difficult with manual transmission.
gue st if you are not used to sir, everything not need to be easy as click we need to learn how to dealt no matter what the situation is if you are a real driver, IMO.
All Accords bought in America or Canada are made in America
HONDA IS MORE INTELLIGENT THAN GENERAL MOTORS.
How much do they get paid?
So you have to study 2 years to do this job?
you mean 2 hours?
They probably studied 2 years to program the machines and computers
Building BC5A CVT Transmissions, , Honda please step away from cvts!
this transmission looks like a cvt I would only say one thing buyer beware cause I have a 2014 accord sport , the transmission vibrates like no tomorrow on a stop light
2 months late, but if you change your oil, install the correct cvt oil, and a bottle of yellow top shudder-guard additive, your shuddering should go. If it's shuddering at a stop light not moving, check your mounts.
Don't use any additives in the 2nd gen CVT, only HCF-2 fluid, dealer master tech here, failures seen due to incorrect maint. Should be serviced 30k miles religiously. We actually rarely see problems with these but when we do it's lack of maint or incorrect fluid.
This may sound bs but I own a1997 p11 primera with a hyper CVT gen 1 and it's done 267000km still no problems. I can't be assed doing a full flush just drain 4lts and replace 4lts every 40000km. Not sure why it's lasted this long.
This is also true on my 2015 sport and when the a/c clutch engages the lights dim. It idles rougher than my old 96 Dodge ram 5.2. I'm really thinking about going to a Camry or a crv

I have a 2013 accord cvt with 74k miles and run perfect not problems in cvt ,just change oil at every 25k miles
250,000 miles 2002 ex
2002 does not use CVT, wrong transaxle
Is your 2002 EX an Accord or Civic auto transmission ?
@@eksine Wrong, there were honda hybrid cvts in 2002
Factory in Germany ZF good
Manual trans any day over a CVT.
good luck in rush hours
Any day

Watching this video makes me realize why auto manufacturers are switching to electric cars because of how many less moving parts there are.
Ich möchte das für mein BMW kaufen
I'm not a fan CVT
Jatco CVT. Almost every CVT on the market is this one.
Many are and they all look alike, Subaru was always the odd one out. They are using German parts in theirs. Chain driven not belt. Similar to Audi units same belt supplied by LUK, the German company.
Honda's CVT is not a Jatco. It's a Honda designed and built unit.
@@Y10Q And they have has problems as well...
Makes nissan cvt
Honda creat there own cvt wich to be honest is best cvt in class
that white work equipment is very weird . There is no pharmacy there.
Someone needs to tell honda thier transmissions suck! But reliable engines

1st like and 1st comment ......
Such a waste of steel and aluminum
Too bad Honda's CVT's are junnnnnkkkkkkkk! SAVE THE MANUALS!!!
We have one of each. The CVT in the CR-V has been great.
In my Jeep, it failed, in my Nissans they failed very early on, NONE have failed in any of my Honda's..
Oh yeah keep my shop buzy
Trash cvt i have 2016 EX-L with only 9000 miles and when I want speed of the fwy I feel like it accelerates in pauses
Juan P Renteria in FWY? Or Forward?
Chamy Messi FWY When i wanna get more speed
Juan P Renteria do you speak spanish?
Dron 17 yeah why ?
Juan P Renteria para explicarte mejor, creo que el problema de tu auto son los inyectores del combustible, la transmision no causa este problema que mencionas
