Timothy this one deserves 10K in likes. Probably the most powerful one you've done yet. This will resonate with a lot of viewers. My parents divorced when I was 15, my dad was still around, but you get torn with what side to take, the teen years are tough enough without that thrown on top of everything. You and Fred have handled this better then anyone I can think of. Through sheer willpower, you two believed in yourself, believed in your dreams, got your family out of Gary. A success story at 24, not many can say that.

Hey Tim My parents divorced when I was four and my mom remarried when I was five. I barely saw my dad and my step dad treated me like dirt . My dad died when I was eighteen and I saw him in the hospital and had my goodbye. When I became an adult I forgave my stepdad and he was nice to me finally. He passed away too. It goes with you throughout your life and it is hard to not have a dad. I am not a result of not having a dad. I am strong because of my past. Props to you and Fred! You are both awesome and I have mad respect for you guys. Thank you Tim!

The sad part of a father leaving his children is when he gets with someone who has children, and he is help raising them, that is so foul!! It happened to us, and we all went to the same school, it was AWFUL and when my dad's girlfriend's daughter and I were in the 12th grade at the SAME school, he bought her a car while I was on the school bus! But it made me a stronger person, I wasn't mad because it was not her fault it was his, then that woman left him and then he wanted to come back home, and my mom was not having it! I was and still am proud of my mom. My dad is no longer here but my mom is, 84 years young and in good shape and spirit!!

Great advice. Us kids have to remember to never think that your Mom or Dad's absence is because of anything you did at all or have anything to do with you. All through out my childhood I thought my Dads aloofness and moodiness was because of something I did. As an adult I learned that he was just trying to make it through the day dealing with his own problems, demons and adult stuff. He loved me very much but sometimes people aren't the best parents.

Tim, I have full confidence that if you ever get married and have children, you will be a great husband to your wife and a great father to your children.
You will be a good role model to any sons or daughters you have. They will know that you will love, teach, provide, and protect them to the best of your ability.
They will know that you will not abandon them when things get tough and challenging. I have no doubt that you will be that kind of man, and God knows we need more
men like that in the world, particularly in so many Black communities.
As a man I have come to realize that I can learn from others what not to do as well as what to do. If I grew up without a father who abandoned me, I would learn not
to do that to my family if I ever have one. I would learn to be a better man than my father was and not to repeat his behavior.
As a man, we are supposed to serve as a role model for our sons and daughters. We teach our sons what a good husband and father looks like so that they know how
to be a good husband and father. We teach our daughters what a good husband and father looks like so our daughters will know how to better recognize a good man
as they seek to be in a relationship with a man.
None of us men are Superman or have all the answers, but good men do not abandon their families when things get tough because that is the time our women and children
need us the most. Our women and children will be right there with us as a family to weather any bad times that come because that is what family is all about.
    I bid you peace.

Sir Timothy.... you humbled me right there. Your an amazing young man you really are. Your smarter and have more guts and courage and are stronger then most of the people I know and have ever known. God Bless you Sir you are well advanced and truly wise for your years. Hard lessons you have truly learned from and you learned them well too. Tim nothing happens by accident not now not ever. There are hard things we go through in this life because God is trying to get us somewhere. He's trying to shape us and mold us into what He wants us to be for His glory sake. Forgive your Dad as your Father in Heaven forgives you. We all have one true Father and He's in Heaven so even if your earthly Father fails you, as we all do because were all human, your Heavenly Father will never fail you trust in Him rely on Him He loves you dear Tim. Learn from your Dads mistakes and dont fall where he fell you are already doing better then he ever could and I'm betting he watches you in these videos. I know in his heart hes proud of you and your brothers of that I have no doubt. My Father was always in the home but in all other ways he was absent. I grew up fighting him over my Mothers time and attention it felt more like a sibling rivalry then a Father. I was an unwanted child by both of my parents and there wasn't a day that went by that both didn't let me know that. I was severely abused by both in every way imaginable but God saw me through it all and had other plans for me and saved me in more ways then one and in more times then I can count too. Lean of God Timothy lean on Him. When the whole world lets you down lean on Him He is always there for you and He will never leave or forsake you. I love you, and you and your whole family is in my prayers and yes even your Dad he will come back to you. Peace always.

Wow! That is a very powerful message you said. You are very mature in your age. I'm so glad that you are not a bitter person. Forgiveness is something most people are afraid of doing, but we all to remember that God Almighty showed us grace so you make a great point. If Jesus Christ ✝️ forgives us for the sins we've done, then why not forgive others as well. We must always honor our parents, that's one of the commandments. I give you props Timothy, so well said. We all need a father figure in our life. Some of us might never have that but just remember you will always have your Heavenly Father in Heaven. He will never leave you nor forsake you. All we need to do is repent of our sins and have faith that Jesus Christ ✝️ is Lord and follow Him the rest of your life and you will receive the gift of everlasting life. No one can earn there way to heaven, you must be born again. You will have the Holy Spirit in you and you will be a new person in Christ ✝️

Like you, I did my life and learned on my own. But, you have your brother for support, even just that someone in your life. That's truly something special.

I totally understand, I'm No Contact/NC with my mother and brother. Am I envious of those who have great relationships with their family? Yes. BUT, I also feel happy for them, I see how precious it is. I am very thankful for the family that I have created.

It's too easy to reject self, because the one who was supposed to nurture and love is missing, disinterested or distant. It feels like something inside is lost. even as an adult the child's mind within still tries to put together some sort of father figure from traits of friends and the demonstrations of fathers loving their kids, or talking fondly over them. But as I like to say, a diamond remains a diamond if you put it in the bin or in a muddy puddle, it still carries worth and value, despite its history. A diamond only looses value if it's clouded by hatred and cracked by resentment. we cannot get back the lost time, but we can be there for the fatherless, the lost, the lonely the least.

How heartbreaking for you, but I partitially understand. My daughter was born almost 27 yrs ago & now shall be having her second baby around end of December/January. It does break my heart that my ex-partner left me when I got pregnant especially for my beautiful daughter. He lives in Liverpool (UK) but is from Bahrein. He is married now with 4 other children, & he VERY RARELY gets in touch with her. She does get in touch with him but he barely replies. I live in France & he has her own apartment in France not far from me. We get on so well & makes me so happy. I feel SO SORRY for my daughter, just breaks my heart for her. She deserves love from him, which he never gives.

You express yourself so well and probably have a positive influence on many other young black men. Further, I know you and Fred met President Barack Obama. I bet if you wrote him a letter telling him you miss having your father as a role model, asking the President for any advice (as a loving, successful, strong, courageous, feeling black man, husband, father, and citizen), I bet he would write you back a very thoughtful letter. Best to you!

I am pretty tired by now trying to always earn attention. It really has been a wonderful life, though. I wish I could be as forgiving as you are then things could be complete.

It's great that you are able to be open and vulnerable in your sharing about your experience and perspective on your father. My Dad was also mostly absent since I was 5 years old. When I became a young adult I would reach out to him to try and build a relationship. What I finally realized, and what helped me to heal, was to not look at him with the expectation that he behave like a Dad towards me or my siblings. I had to accept that he was just a fellow soul on the planet struggling with his own psychological issues and that he was not capable of fully being a father figure. Ultimately, that helped me to have compassion for him on his journey and to be able to release any resentment about his absence. It sounds like you have been able use your similar situation to move forward in life and to create a positive outlook and be your own man. Now, you will similarly inspire others to move past such limitations. God bless.

Hi Tim! I started watching your channel after you met Obama. Motivational speaking may be your new calling.
I agree with you 💯 in regards to not blaming your parents for your choices. If it is to be it's up to me. No excuses. You are a strong, wise young man. I have known people as old as 60 still blaming their childhood for their problems. At what point do we take control of our own lives. Success is the best revenge. Holding on to bitterness only poisons your own soul, it doesn't hurt them. You have a survivor as opposed to victim mentality.
I am also a survivor of severe childhood abuse. I have a beautiful family of my own now. Used them as an example of what not to do. Take care! Keep up the good work 👏 🙌
