Yes, completely agree! Thank you.
There is a new De Rantau Digital Nomad visa program for Digital Nomads to live in Malaysia for a one year renewable program. Do check it out as well. Its cheaper and you can bring your entire family as well.
Great, thanks for the info! I looked into it however we wouldn't qualify. But thanks for sharing, it might be helpful to others to know about it.
Another great video - keep them coming please!
Will do, thanks for watching!
Woohoo! Love me some best places videos. Some great choices in there.
Thank so much! I know for a fact that you have been to many of these places :)
Great info! Some of those places are on our must see list.
Yes, absolutely, and you've already been to some of these places!
Nice list! I was really sold on Malaysia too, until the requirements changed... Might have to settle for Thailand, not a bad choice either.
Yes, I completely agree!
Great Video.
My heart goes to malaysia
Malaysia is fabulous!
The quality of life in Malaysia is top notch, although many people thought we are a 3rd world country.
Yes, I think many people categorize all of Southeast Asia as being third world, but that is definitely not the case for Malaysia.
Definitely some places on here we want to spend some time. Malaysia, Uruguay and Portugal are at the top of the list.
Yes, absolutely. We love all three of those places. It's been awhile since we've been to Portugal, so we're hoping to get back there soon.
YES! Penang! AGREE❤
The S-MM2H requirements also recently changed in an attempt to close the backdoor to peninsular, requiring full time residency in Sarawak. My wife and I were always planning on living in Kuching, so we may still apply next year when I turn 50. But the constant revisions and musical chair governments sadly do not instill any sense of security in one's longterm retirement prospects... 😿
Yes, completely agree. It is discouraging.
Totally agree. We were looking at the Sarawak angle as well but the government keeps wanting to change rules midstream, we don’t have much confidence it would stay the same.
Thanks for this wonderful video. It's good to see 2 places in Malaysia r in your list, Penang n Cameron Highlands.
I'm wondering why Izmir, your fav city to live in Turkey isn't in your list.
Maybe not anymore favorite
FYI, Malaysia has a new PM, Mr Anwar Ibrahim. He's very vocal on reformation n few of d immediate attention on his agenda is d cost of living n also d performance of d civil service. Tourism is also one of his concerns. Hopefully, under his leadership, MM2H program can be revised n improved to facilitate genuine investors who want to retire in Malaysia.
@yasinaffandi7870 nice, lets seen what happend,
I will watch it in the next months
But for now still not possible
@@CadStr I thought they had shortlisted Izmir as their fav city in Turkey to qualify for residential permit via investment of purchasing a property around USD 75K.
Malaysia was up there for us too but it seems they only want visitors not long term residents. Actually looking at Valencia, Spain now, love its infrastructure.
Thanks! I visited Spain many years ago and really liked it. I think that would be another great place to live!
I would recommend avoiding Cambodia. I have noticed an increase in violent crimes against foreigners, according to Facebook groups and what I have been told by victims, and as a woman no longer feel safe going out alone after dark unless I'm close to home. I was recently evicted with violence from an apartment I had legal possession of and the owner stole that month's rent and my security deposit. I was "discouraged" from going to the police or the courts.
Wow, it's horrible that you experienced that. Thanks for sharing this information.
Which country in your list has comprehensive, efficient (no never ending waiting periods) and affordable healthcare?
Malaysia and Thailand for sure, also Uruguay and Argentina but there is a language barrier if you don't Spanish. But really all of the countries mentioned in the video have good health care except maybe Cambodia and Peru.
Malasia Visa requirements are insane now, almost impossible a normal person reach it, even with quite good savings
How it’s the work Visa works? It’s ok?
I don't have information about the work visa, but the MM2H visa is very strict, impossible for us.
A question about Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, as I have never been to Cambodia. Are there supermarkets with imported Western foods like butter and corned beef, or canned fish? Are there convenience stores where one can buy hard-boiled eggs, like in Thailand? I keep a very strict diet for health reasons, I don't eat in restaurants, not to mention street food. So I'm wondering if I'll find anything to eat if I go to Cambodia 🙁
And another question - what about safety in Cambodia...? Is it worse than Thailand?
Great video 👍👍👍❣️❣️❣️
Hi - In Siem Reap there are supermarkets with imported food items: American granola bars, Pepperidge Farm cookies, cans of soup & chili, McCormick seasonings, Preggo spaghetti sauce, Old El Paso tortillas, and Ben and Jerry's ice cream are some examples. I would assume a similar or greater selection could be found in Phnom Penh. But I don't know about butter, hard boiled eggs, corned beef though. I'm pretty sure they would have canned fish although I can't say for sure. There are convenience stores, more Circle-K and less 7-Eleven. Siem Reap seemed perfectly safe to us and we haven't heard of any security issues. We have heard of isolated theft in Phnom Phem, but violent crime is rare in Cambodia. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching, let us know if you have other questions.
@@snailtravelers Thank you for answering. Unfortunately you have listed only foods that I wouldn't touch with a crowbar..... I don't know where to turn to for information and I'm afraid to set foot in a country where I may literally starve. At least in Thailand I know I can find some food items. If you know of any forum or other place where I can find more information please let me know.
Thanks again 🙏
Sorry I couldn't provide better answers. There are several Siem Reap expat Facebook groups that might be more helpful.
Why would you “learn a few Spanish words,” in Rio de Janeiro? Portuguese is the language of Brazil. Just one of the factual errors in this video. Why would anyone take advice from you?

Malaysia New government mm2h new rules should change anytime more relax
I hope so!
How about Singapore?
We are planning to visit Singapore sometime in the next year, however we already know that we probably could never live there because the cost of living is too high for us. But we are excited to visit.
@@snailtravelers What you said is very true. I am from Malaysia and I have 2 sisters living in Singapore and I have yet to visit them for about a decade. The costs of living or even visiting for us is just too high due to the currency conversion.
