We are very saddened by the recent earthquake that has devastated a large area of Türkiye. We will be donating all revenue earned from this video to support the victims of the earthquake. The revenue will be higher if you do not skip the ads. Thank you for your support.
Thank you Tate!
Glad to see you’re both ok. I was worried and have been following up on your page to see if there was an update. Sending prayers to those impacted by the earthquakes. 😢
Thank you so much Robin. We are pretty far away from the area of the earthquakes. Thanks for checking on us! By the way, we were in Chiang Mai recently and we were remembering our time at the Yee Peng festival. That was such a fun experience!
@@snailtravelers That’s great that you made it back there. I’m jealous! We miss Thailand. It’s been fun to follow your travels. Hoping our paths cross again. 😊
Loved the look of those back alleys for a stroll. There is also nothing quite like a great sunset on the water. Thanks for another great video!
Thanks as always for watching our videos! And we're glad progress is being made on your apartment!
@@snailtravelers We’re getting there, still on track to move in by April 1.
Always been curious about Bodrum with how close it is to Greece and seeing the signs to go from Kos. Love the backyard BBQ spot! Lots of delicious looking food highlighted in this episode. Always enjoy your informative videos. Wow those AirBnb prices for the month are very pricey! Good to know the hotels can be more affordable
Thanks so much you two! Let us know if you plan to visit Turkey again!
Thanks for sharing all the food and prices with us..great introduction of Bodrum....frankly the prices quoted with photo and food portion is cheaper than cost in Malaysia.. Turkish food style in Malaysia is not cheap
Yes indeed. We ate at some Turkish restaurants in Malaysia and they did cost more, but the food was good. Thanks again for watching our video.
@@snailtravelers It’s always the norm that a foreign food costs more than local food. Try buying Malaysian food in Turkey and I bet the Turkey food is cheaper because some of the ingredients are imported and not many people sell or consume them. On a separate note, I realised all your videos are exactly 10 mins long. Highly precise. 👍
Thank you Douglas. I edit our videos down to 10 minutes because I personally start to get bored when I watch a video that is too long. And you are very correct about how food prices depend on location.
@@UncleDougDeli agree
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video n for showing Bodrum in Turkey. All d Turkish food looked really good.
Thank you Yasin. The food is indeed delicious!
@@snailtravelers Lovely, all d food incl honey looked so good.
Thinking of both of you after these horrible earthquakes. Hope you and your neighbors are safe. Praying for everyone in the affected areas.
Thank you so much for this comment. We live in Izmir, which is far from the area impacted by the earthquake, but we are so saddened by the deviation.
Hey guys, we haven't made it to Bodrum so far but have definitely considered it so it was fun to get your take. Definitely sounds like shoulder season is the time to visit for best weather and more moderate prices on Airbnb. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for watching! We're enjoying following your adventures in South America. Please say 'hi' to Jasper and Huxley for us!
I’m always impressed by your videos.
Thanks so much for the compliment!
I thought I wanted to retire in Izmir ( I was stationed there in 93-94). But after visiting 5 times in the last 2 years I encountered too many people irritated that I couldn't speak Turkish... not very welcoming. I spent a week in Marmaris over New Years last month and fell in love with the place - English was widely spoken and I was impressed that Migros had signs in both Turkish and English.
Thanks for your feedback. We haven't met anybody in Izmir that was irritated with us for not speaking Turkish, so I'm sorry you experienced that when you have visited Izmir. We have yet to visit Marmaris, but we hope to get there soon! Thanks for watching our video.
Loving the small town feel of Bodrum!
Yes, it does have a small town feel and is very charming. Thanks for watching our video!
Thanks for sharing the property info, surprised but love it ! ☺️
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing this. I think Boston looks really beautiful. Seems like it does a lot of things well. The food looks absolutely delicious. It's going on the list 👍
Yes, absolutely agree! Bodrum had so much to offer: beaches, food, friendly people. I'm glad you guys plan to visit Bodrum!
Great video and details!
Thank you!
I am definately hungry now!
Yes indeed, the food is delicious! Thanks, as always, for watching our videos.
Emily ve sen çok tatlı bir çiftsiniz, videolar harika ve eğitici🥰💖
Thank you very much Gözde. Thank you for being our friend!
You really make me want to go there. So awesome that you are donating to earthquake relief!
Thank you so much Taylor!
@@snailtravelers I have never been to Turkey but my partner is from there so I’m sure we will visit at some point. At least I would have a personal interpreter. 😂😂😂
How wonderful! Maybe your partner could teach us Turkish 🙂. We are trying to learn the language and it's quite difficult. One thing we really miss about living in Malaysia is being able to communicate easily with the Malaysian people.
My heart goes to everyone in Turkiye. Hope you both are okay and safe there.
Thank you Calvin, you are very kind. We are safe but are very saddened by the devistation.
Really glad to hear that both of you are okay. Take care Ryan and Emily.
Lovely video, and lovely place💯
Many thanks
Ouch! On those Airbnb prices. Awfully high for Turkey.
Yes, definitely high by Turkish standards, no doubt about that. Thanks for watching our video!
It is not “Bow-drum” (Bow-dram, Bow-drom). It is Bodroom (bOdroom).
Do you have any videos about tax laws in Turkey? If you plan to retire in Turkey and become tax-paying residents there, could you explain how residents are taxed? Especially those living on American retirement income?
Thank you!
Sorry, I don't know much about taxes, but I think generally you only pay taxes in Turkey on earned income within the country, such as working and having a job in Turkey. American citizens have to file a US tax return and pay US taxes no matter where they are living, even outside the US. But again I'm no expert on taxes, so you would need to get advice from an accountant or attorney..
Man, sounds so weird when you guys said the food comes with Greek yoghurt! Even the word "Yoğurt" is Turkish and there ie no Greek Yoghurt in Turkey. It's just Yoghurt.
Yes, my mistake, realized that after I published the video. Thanks for watching!
Are you guys still in Turkey? Are you all right?
We are good, thank you so much for checking! We live in Izmir, which is far from the area impacted by the earthquake, but we are so saddened by the deviation.
🇲🇾✌
Heard about earthquake in Turkiye, glad that everything is fine with you all. Greetings from Penang.
Thank you Wendy for your comment. We are good and live far from the area impacted by the earthquake, but we are so saddened by the deviation.
Do you think bodrum can be good for Famailes?
Yes, I think Bodrum (and Turkey in general) is good for families. Thanks for watching!
Hey what month was this video filmed?
Hello, we visited Bodrum in November, thank you for watching!
It was not a Greek yogurt Sos its a Turkish Yoghurt and the Yoghurt Name is coming from a Turkish Word ( you can search it ) Americas biggest Yoghurt Company "Chobany" is a Turkish Owner but he must sell his Turkish Yoghurt as a Greek Yoghurt what a big shame is !! so please dont say to a Turkish Yoghurt "Greek" and to Turkish White Cheese is not a FETA to...
Ah yes, that was a mistake I made in the video. Thank you for clarifying.
Another great video - thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
