@@TodLewis-c4g hello, These are definitely great questions. I did do a pre weight now I need to do a post weight. My plan is go back to the same certified truck scale. I have my thoughts on the king suspension in respect to what I know to be true about the van compass, but the difficult part will be for me to compare the two on the same chassis. My experience with Van Compass was on the transit chassis. That comparison may not be fair. However, I think that the information that I’ll be able to provide about the king suspension should provide some insight to help others find what would be best for themselves. I plan on doing a little tutorial/video on the king suspension very soon.

@@caveman1416 great question, So far with all the traveling we’ve done through multiple states, the gas mileage is surprisingly stayed pretty much the same on average 14 to 16 MPG’s of course there’s times where we’ve gotten much higher and much lower but I think that that’s a fair average the share.

@@ekkonesters599 I understand that the propane tanks couldn’t be held inside the gear garage, perhaps use of a Swing hinge hitch mounted Storage Box to hold the additional tanks would help in keeping your gear safe and increase the duration of both the heater and water heater in a safe manner. Locks to ensure that the extra propane tanks and other equipment and supplies are still inside the storage box.

So, do you think that rear Molly Panel can mount on the TREKKO and could it handle the weight of a couple of ROTOPAX gas containers? What needs to be done for your gauges? For example, your fuel tank fill/empty adjusted? Is your MPH and other electronics need to be changed to adjust for the bigger tires?
this is looking great! I have been eyeballing these new Ekkos, man they are so expensive and then the add ons probably cost a ton as well. Maybe someday.

That’s a great question. We recently did a video that outlines the cost and some expectations on labor. The labor is the big key is various shop to shop and region region. As for the modifications, we have all the cost on our website, and if there’s something that you don’t find, please don’t hesitate to ask. Yes, there’s definitely a noticeable difference in performance between the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 on the Ford and the twin-turbo four-cylinder high-output Mercedes engine. I do miss the power band that the Ford offers, especially when tackling grades and hills. However, the Mercedes delivers a decent amount of power considering the vehicle’s size and weight. While I'd love to see the performance and power of the Ford engine dropped into a Mercedes, it’s probably not going to happen, but I really appreciate the refinement of the Mercedes cab space. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying your EKKO!

It’s funny you ask cause I have them for sale right now. I’ve been considering a light bar for sure however my ditch lights because I can position these especially with my Baja LP6 able to flood areas for lighting very easily. I've had my 25 Sprekko for a couple of months and getting ready for a month long trip. Nice to see some mods being done but probably way overkill for me. I'm doing shocks upgrades before I leave. I'll have to see what I think once I get back from my trip.
Great video! Love the mods! Questions for you: Did they tell you the weight load limit on the side garage door hinges? Are there stronger struts needed for the rear door that lifts now that you’re adding weight to the Molly panel? Also, the tire change looks awesome but it’s going to affect the speedometer/odometer. What have you noticed & how are you adjusting to that?

I did keep track of my receipts and I have some indications on my mileage from utilization of my GPS on my phone, however, I have not had an opportunity to check the economy of the fuel. But it works with all the adaptive sensors, etc. etc. By the way, if you get it to the point we’re going to start up fitting it feel free to reach out to us. Just curious how much the 33’s impacted your mileage (if any) and if you felt there was an overall loss in power, particularly going uphill? Granted they aren’t speed demons to begin with. @@JohnGraybill-c6v Hello John, thanks for checking out the channel. In respect to total cost of MODS, we have most of these items on our website which may help with the over details of product cost. However, labor can vary from shop to shop and region. As for the warranty, typically, the way that interpret warranties is following the Magnuson Moss Act. Generally speaking you’d find some dealers that will claim pretty much any mod denies warranties. However, a warranty can be denied if the “aftermarket product/mod” can be found to have caused the item in question regarding a warranty claim. And this has to be proven and established with supporting facts not option of the dealer. Example might be an item that might void a vehicle manufacturer's warranty is the installation of an aftermarket performance chip or tuner. These devices can alter the vehicle's engine parameters, leading to potential damage or wear that the manufacturer did not account for, thus voiding the warranty on the affected components. Again this is my experience and interpretation. But generally the things that we do are more suspension enhancements, protection like skid plates, lighting upgrades, etc which tend to not impact the vital components.

I’m so sorry for the delayed response. I missed this message. We’re back-and-forth on the replacement of the Sprinter EKKO mattress for various reason. However I miss the peace of mind knowing that Roam rest has a superior cover application protecting from moisture/condensation wicking. My plan is to have my friend John (owner of Roam Test) evaluate the current mattress build and based on his feedback, I will move forward with some decisions on replacing the one I have. However, I did hear from a couple that already ordered a new mattress for there Sprinter EKKO. Yes, in respect to your question about the “is it really worth the cost?” , Yes, absolutely the mattress that Roam Rest offers is phenomenal. Plus the brilliance in the fold down center piece with a zipper connection is ideal. The other nice thing is there’s true science behind the manufacturing. There is also the option of scheduling an appointment and Roam Test can design/build a mattress specific to your needs. Wowie Zowie! That's a LOT of upgrading. Please forgive my childish curiosity, but this looks like WELL in excess of $20K...and those Toyo tires must weigh about 110 lbs apiece, however I did hear you say there's a 100-lb savings by removing two tires from the duel rear wheels. More extreme vehicles only feature single rear wheels on either side and do NOT feature duel rear wheels for one main reason: stones stuck between rear wheels that could puncture the sidewall. The lift looks serious...factory MB Sprinter is just around 9", but now it's close to 12"(I'd say 11" for sure) and THAT is SERIOUS LIFT. I think you've also added another 1100 -1200 pounds ADDITIONAL weight capacity ABOVE what the MB Sprinter offers, however, the ride will be quite a bit stiffer..more truck like. 45-gal tank? At 15 mpg that means 675 mile range! Grrrreat! Jason and Michelle: THIS EKKO IS A MONSTER!

@@ekkonesters599 The cargo capacity is 1215 lbs. With a full 45 gal. gas tank, I would expect it to reduce the cargo capacity. If you don't mind, when you reweigh the new Ekko, if possible, do it with a full gas tank so we can see what the impact is. Thanks, and please know I am a big fan of your videos and you are a big reason why I am considering getting a Sprekko with the Selenite body paint.
@@GaryMetcalfe-e2k yes, that is a great video to be had. We are still working on getting into some diverse terrain so that we can provide a better review and feedback. But so far the confidence of the enhanced ground clearance is a plus.
We just did a video with all the cost of the mods. I did note some labor cost that could be expected, but I found that a very shopped to shop. In respect to avoiding your warranty, I might invite you to look up the Magnuson and Moss act. My interpretation and understanding is the only way our dealer can avoid the warranty on a modification is if the modification is proven to directly influence and fail, the part that’s being questioned under warranty. Again the burden of proof is on the dealer and the manufacturer. I’m no lawyer don’t offer any legal advice. By any means. I’m just recommending do some due diligence. This act was initiated to protect consumers.
I can see your thoughts on this. However, our previous version held 50 gallons of fresh (same as the new version) it was very rare we needed to replenish. The Truma hot water heater is very efficient so there is no real waste waiting on demand. Also, the shower has a pretty efficient shower head as well. Besides, we shower pretty quick, not like at home where its relax and forget about the world, LOL.. Thank you for the thoughts and comment and for watching our channel.

The bumper was designed to allow for all the front sensors so whether it’s the adaptive cruise control park assist, etc., the bumpers designed to accommodate all these pieces. @@stana2z that’s a great question Sam. I would argue please say yes. I’m still running numbers and wanting to get more concrete answer for everyone. I would say this we added some weight to the trunk and our travels home, we are carrying another 21+ gallons of diesel. In the back is solid and not sagging or showing any signs of dip.

I've had my 25 Sprekko for a couple of months and getting ready for a month long trip. Nice to see some mods being done but probably way overkill for me. I'm doing shocks upgrades before I leave. I'll have to see what I think once I get back from my trip.

Great video! Love the mods! Questions for you: Did they tell you the weight load limit on the side garage door hinges? Are there stronger struts needed for the rear door that lifts now that you’re adding weight to the Molly panel? Also, the tire change looks awesome but it’s going to affect the speedometer/odometer. What have you noticed & how are you adjusting to that?

Just took delivery of my new 2025 Sprekko (with the new factory all body paint it looks fantastic). Loving all your choices and hope to follow your lead. Do the bumper modifications affect the adaptive speed control sensors and function on the sprinter?

No, there is nothing affected by the bumper.
Other than fact, you’re gonna have a great time in full lot more confident on the road. But it works with all the adaptive sensors, etc. etc.

Just curious how much the 33’s impacted your mileage (if any) and if you felt there was an overall loss in power, particularly going uphill? Granted they aren’t speed demons to begin with. What is total cost of mods. Does it void warranty?
@@JohnGraybill-c6v Hello John, thanks for checking out the channel. In respect to total cost of MODS, we have most of these items on our website which may help with the over details of product cost. However, labor can vary from shop to shop and region. As for the warranty, typically, the way that interpret warranties is following the Magnuson Moss Act. Generally speaking you’d find some dealers that will claim pretty much any mod denies warranties. However, a warranty can be denied if the “aftermarket product/mod” can be found to have caused the item in question regarding a warranty claim. And this has to be proven and established with supporting facts not option of the dealer. Example might be an item that might void a vehicle manufacturer's warranty is the installation of an aftermarket performance chip or tuner. These devices can alter the vehicle's engine parameters, leading to potential damage or wear that the manufacturer did not account for, thus voiding the warranty on the affected components. Again this is my experience and interpretation.
But generally the things that we do are more suspension enhancements, protection like skid plates, lighting upgrades, etc which tend to not impact the vital components.

We’re back-and-forth on the replacement of the Sprinter EKKO mattress for various reason. However I miss the peace of mind knowing that Roam rest has a superior cover application protecting from moisture/condensation wicking.
My plan is to have my friend John (owner of Roam Test) evaluate the current mattress build and based on his feedback, I will move forward with some decisions on replacing the one I have.
However, I did hear from a couple that already ordered a new mattress for there Sprinter EKKO.

Wowie Zowie! That's a LOT of upgrading. Please forgive my childish curiosity, but this looks like WELL in excess of $20K...and those Toyo tires must weigh about 110 lbs apiece, however I did hear you say there's a 100-lb savings by removing two tires from the duel rear wheels. More extreme vehicles only feature single rear wheels on either side and do NOT feature duel rear wheels for one main reason: stones stuck between rear wheels that could puncture the sidewall. The lift looks serious...factory MB Sprinter is just around 9", but now it's close to 12"(I'd say 11" for sure) and THAT is SERIOUS LIFT. I think you've also added another 1100 -1200 pounds ADDITIONAL weight capacity ABOVE what the MB Sprinter offers, however, the ride will be quite a bit stiffer..more truck like. 45-gal tank? At 15 mpg that means 675 mile range! Grrrreat! Jason and Michelle: THIS EKKO IS A MONSTER!

@@ekkonesters599 The cargo capacity is 1215 lbs. With a full 45 gal. gas tank, I would expect it to reduce the cargo capacity. If you don't mind, when you reweigh the new Ekko, if possible, do it with a full gas tank so we can see what the impact is. Thanks, and please know I am a big fan of your videos and you are a big reason why I am considering getting a Sprekko with the Selenite body paint.

@@GaryMetcalfe-e2k yes, that is a great video to be had. We are still working on getting into some diverse terrain so that we can provide a better review and feedback. But so far the confidence of the enhanced ground clearance is a plus.

We just did a video with all the cost of the mods.
I did note some labor cost that could be expected, but I found that a very shopped to shop.
In respect to avoiding your warranty, I might invite you to look up the Magnuson and Moss act.
My interpretation and understanding is the only way our dealer can avoid the warranty on a modification is if the modification is proven to directly influence and fail, the part that’s being questioned under warranty.
Again the burden of proof is on the dealer and the manufacturer. I’m no lawyer don’t offer any legal advice. By any means. I’m just recommending do some due diligence. This act was initiated to protect consumers.

I can see your thoughts on this. However, our previous version held 50 gallons of fresh (same as the new version) it was very rare we needed to replenish. The Truma hot water heater is very efficient so there is no real waste waiting on demand. Also, the shower has a pretty efficient shower head as well. Besides, we shower pretty quick, not like at home where its relax and forget about the world, LOL.. Thank you for the thoughts and comment and for watching our channel.
Question about the front bumper when you change the front bumper did it affect the sensors in the front?

And the quick answer is no not at all. The bumper was designed to allow for all the front sensors so whether it’s the adaptive cruise control park assist, etc., the bumpers designed to accommodate all these pieces.

We haven’t had a chance to play with all the suspension adjustments yet, but surprisingly, it’s very controlled despite the height increase and very predictable as well. Yes, it is possible to switch your 2016 Sprinter with dual rear wheels to a single rear wheel setup, assuming you have the 3500 chassis. The Reika R35V Rambler 3500 Super Single This kit is specifically designed to replace the traditional dually setup on Mercedes-Benz 3500 Sprinter Vans. We love our set up to be upfront with you.
The good news is that you can typically keep your original braking system when making this switch. We did and averaging works great. No issues in or off road. Etc.
