You really have to listen to this thing a few times to really get the vibe it’s going for. Every time I listen to this album it becomes more defined in my mind as a stellar piece of music. Early IM has the darkest feel for sure.
The highest quality for this album you can currently get would be the LP with decent equipment. RUclips processes the audio on upload. This is nowhere near CD quality.

It definitely is a masterpiece. 23 years old, and it sounds as crisp and powerfull like when it came out. Still gives me shivers down my spine, a smile on my face and makes my body moving. Psycho is some of the most powerfull psytrance ever made.
I am always coming back to these 1st (or should I say 6th ) Album's as Infected Mushroom goes with their Trance and I am still tripping balls on the grooves till this day, their new stuff is amazing but this classic shot is on a whole nother realm entirely. Chemical Bros is still captivating that child hallucinating vibe to this day and I love it...but what a feeling to lose urself to this alone in ur own mind for....30+ years... I love it and why I live and will stay young

I've got a soft spot for "dark psytrance" like this. Penta is also great for that (i.e. Olympia), although due to me being prone to sensory overloads, I actually can't listen to that kinda stuff for too long. Having too many noises coming at me all at once is legit disorienting, and yet I still appreciate it nonetheless. I bet it's a hell of a trip for peeps who aren't sensitive like me lol Thankfully The Gathering is a nice blend of ambience/SFX and actual instrumentals.
Don't know how many here will notice, but in the first track 'Release Me', the guitars sound EXACTLY like Cowboys From Hell by Heavy Metal legends Pantera. Very similar to the main riff, but not the exact same notes, though the guitar tone is indistinguishable. I suppose IM did sample this.
they have a live on air from I -think- the same year that is an awesome mix of this album and other classic stuff, the anouncement is in hebrew so I don't know the details but it's gold. As good as this, but around two hours long
I'd never listened to this album before. Sounds like a more sinister version of X-Dream and occasionally Hallucinogen: The Lone Deranger. Classical Mushroom was a big leap forward.
