Then I hunted for receipt for 30 minutes to return them , but couldn't find it. Finally I happened to find this video, and it literally took less than 30 seconds to install. Thank you!

    God bless you (and I’m not religious) for posting this video! I was installing Rain-X wipers so that part was slightly different, but I couldn’t figure out how to get the old blades off, which you demo’d perfectly! Thank you!
    PS I did find a decent video on the Rain-X site on how to install the wipers so that got me through the installation part. But all they mentioned for removing the old wipers was, “first, remove the old wipers.” 🙄

    Seriously, I had extras from my old Sequoia and my wife's Highlander but they don't fit the new Tundra (same year as the Highlander too). Had no idea what I was looking at. Thanks!

    • @eaglejfm
      @eaglejfm  3 года назад +1

      What years are the vehicles? I'm interested. Surely they will have changed the design on the newer 2019/2020 models, right? (Right Toyota engineers?)

    • @intjonmiller
      @intjonmiller 3 года назад

      @@eaglejfm 2002 Sequoia, 2013 Highlander, and previous 2008 Highlander all used standard J hook connectors. 2013 Tundra uses this weird one.
      I sell trucks for a living. People frequently (every few months anyway) leave unopened wiper blades in their trades figuring they won't fit the new vehicle (Or whatever it is they're thinking. I get jumper cables, tool kits, funnels, unopened fluids of all types, hundreds of dollars per year in loose change, and more. Just can't be bothered to move it, I guess?) It has been years since I bought wiper blades. But I traded for this Tundra a few months ago and freezing rain over the weekend resulted in breaking the mount on some perfectly good Bosch blades so I went to swap with one of the 6 or 8 I have in the 21-24" range that would be fine on the passenger side and found that none I have will mount on this truck. None! Back when I actually bought wiper blades I never went for premium ones. Always mid range, $8-10 each. Found that I can't even get the adapter with them in that range. Have to buy $15-20 blades for this truck. Wouldn't have made me buy a different truck but it's still very annoying, takes longer (in cold weather at the moment) to install, and feels less secure. Like the adapter piece feels like I'll have to break it to get it back off, but the wiper blade itself is barely connected. But then I imagine that is less likely to break under the same circumstances as the Bosch (went with Michelin Stealth something something this time). I assume the engineers have a reason for using this design instead but I have no idea what it is. Isn't even any more attractive than the ones on my wife's Highlander. Oh well.

    • @eaglejfm
      @eaglejfm  3 года назад +1

      I do feel like the premium blades I purchased (before I learned that the cheap ones had adapters, too) had better quality mounts. Might carry a couple of backup blades in the truck in case the freezing rain breaks another one.
