  • Changing the rear differential and transmission fluid on my manual 2004 c5 corvette, I used Mobil 1 synthetic fluids but I have heard issues regarding synthetic transmission fluid in pre 2000 models.

    Word of advice before you drain your transaxle fluid make sure your fill plug is loose and not stuck

    Appreciate the video man, I have a 2004 6 Speed as well and was planning to go with the same fluid, with all the conflicting information on the internet, I'm glad to see someone else make the same decision.

    You could do with some foot long (ish bit longer ideally) sections of two by fours for jacking up on the subframe. I jack up with the wood on the subframes then put the axle stands either side of jack. The subframes a bit thin being on an edge at the bottom and it could crack/slip.
    Great video tho! Imma do mine today! Along with the engine oil. (Get all the messy drain pan stuff done in one day yeah!)

    Hello.
    I dont want to turn this text into a JK Rowling novel so I'll be as bruef as pissible
    I bought my 2000 Vetty on my 48th bday..three years ago and although she started every single time, I've been having issues with her.
    Taking her to mechs who have no fukkin idea about Vettes made me decide to do it myself
    I saw your video and this is exactly what i want to do FIRST!
    I will subscribe to your channel in hopes to take care of my Vetty and learn plenty along the way while I save myself $$$.
    Thank you.

    Hey man, appreciate these maintenance videos. Quick question, are the diff washers single-use crush washers or no?

    • @HTPJay
      @HTPJay  2 года назад +1

      I don’t think c5 base model 6 speed cars came with a trans temp sensor only automatics and the z06, I may be wrong though
