They were mentioned and discussed towards the end, and included in the valuations with significant input to the total value if one does the simple math outlined by the appraiser
The fact that they didn't call in a squad of police cars to come and surround that building is shocking. Those three Jackie Robinson's alone graded are over 150,000.
Man the estimates on some of those cards might be VERY LOW!. a few of those look to be very high grade especially the jackie robinson in the middle. If sent to PSA which i strongly suggest she does for grading a psa 6 of that card alone is worth $35,000+ each! the one in the middle looks even better then that! Most of these cards look to be in the 6-7 range and possible some 8s or 9s. If one of those Jackie cards comes back a 7 it is a $50,000+ card and an 8..... you are talking 6 figures just for one. Same with the babe ruth just graded a 54 these bring about $6,000+ and all of them look better then a 4 could have a 6 or 7 in there. His estimate was CRAZY LOW. I would buy them all from her for $165,000 right now. So if you are reading this comment and want to sell let me know.
Holy crap! As a collector my jaw hit the floor when I saw what she had! Id grade them and I’m not sure I could ever sell them, they’re that nice. Definitely pc material my word!
I just left a comment saying the same thing buddy that's where all the money's at if the Robinsons came back in the PSA 5 there worth $137,000 each if they came back in a PSA 3 they're worth $5,000 each so she's looking at a couple hundred thousand dollars or more
@@pepcaone Agree - the grading companies charge the grading fee based on estimated value before grading. My best guess is that the grading fee alone would be around $1K per card. At least what was shown on the board. Those in the stacks, perhaps not as much, but still pricey. Could be worth it ho!
@@IamRhondaNightingale They were the original cards these were not reprints. She said her father had these since he was a kid and put them away in a cigar box. She could easily get around a million or more for these cards once they are graded.
No. Not safety deposit box….yet. These need to be slabbed and graded immediately. The difference in value between raw cards and graded cards can be astronomical. Someone needs to guide her through the grading process. It’s costly to grade these but the payoff in the end may double or even triple the value of his estimate based on what they grade.
She needs to sleeve them, top load them, and drive straight to PSA to get them graded. Given how good the condition is the end cards could grade out very well and possibly triple or quadruple in value.
I would have personally called the closest card shop and get them sleeved immeidaltely. One bumped corner and you are potentially out $10s of thousands.
He should tell that lady that the value may be more than that if you send them off to grading companies like PSA and Beckett. They give an official condition value, and they will encase them for her in a preservation case. And if they grade good the value will greatly increase.
If I had one of those cards I’d be so nervous about getting it into a sleeve and top loader, they just slapped them raw on a little board with magnets lol
What I loved… as a card collector myself… is she had many multiples of each player, but if you really scrutinize the cards, some varied in BRIGHTNESS IN COLOR… and these super BRIGHT in color cards might be more RARE, plus aesthetically they might be more sought after by BIG TIME collectors… They need to be slabbed up and graded by PSA immediately… I love how the guy says these are not pins/tacks holding the cards, they are MAGNETS! GEEESH! I wouldn’t want ANYTHING pressing/touching these cards, it’s absurd that they displayed the cards with them stupid MAGNETS… I get it, they want to do a show for tv.. put them in sleeves and card holders then do the show… kind of a disgrace to the hobby how these cards were set up for display with the magnets in my opinion. What a beautiful collection.
1949 leaf baseball cards. Issued in March 1949 according to Bowman - Leaf lawsuit filed from the same year. Unfortunately, no super short print Satchel Paige which is the most valuable card in the set. Jackie is 2nd
If those Jackie Robinsons are in good shape they could easily be 6 figure cards. She should grade all of them then sell or pass them down to family. Either way congrats to her.
Surprised having the PSA grading (maybe it did and just wasn't included ?) didn't come up. A PSA 6 Ruth Leaf is closer to what $12-13k a piece. That was a suspicious appraisal at best.
$150,000? Each of those Jackies are 50g minimum. What are these clown appraisers? Lady: Don't sell these card for less than 350k after taxes and fees. Sincerely, One Who Knows Collecting
Wow what a freaking find of a lifetime good for that young lady. This dude was lying to her because all these cards go for way more, hopefully a real collector reached out to her and gave her a ton of money. I would send these to PSA and then put them up for auction.
Before I begin my comment, let me just preface this and say that I recently sold a PSA 5 (midgrade) of the Jackie Robinson card shown here, for $34K within this year, and the ones she has are far better condition that mine was. In other words, the vaulation here is a ripoff- those Jackie cards alone, could fetch her the entire $150K. Now my comment- I know he made a reference to "just magnets" but good god, it is absolutely ridiculous that they displayed those cards BARE on a board with "magnets' like that! Put them in penny sleeves at the least! I'm not being melodramatic here, but I guarantee you that those cards got devalued by 10's of thousands of dollars via condition just by the way they are displayed here, and I shutter to think of the person handling them putting those cards up on that board. If you do not have penny sleevs, then you know what, tell the lady to wait, have someone run to the store (they sell them everywhere now walmart, target etc.." and spend $2 for 100 pennys sleeves) and get those cards in the sleeves to display. I am just stunned at how this was done, and what was done to the cards here. Now the extreme lowballing of the value here. Yes they are ungraded, but just by simply viewing the condition on my laptop, those cards are extremely high grade for that set, and I would GLADLY pay her $150K right now for them. I'm serious, if she reads this, message me! I will fly out to you and pay you in cash! In all honesty, all she has to do is reach out to any one of the many serious collectors out here and she will have a quarter million cash in her hand as is, and THAT is still low. I hope she seeks guidance from a true collector/investor and not these companies who seriously are always lowballing.
For someone who has been in the hobby for 25 years, gone to local auctions, estate sales, crawled under floorboards, you name it, this was hard to watch. Not because of anything other than that's where all the gold is. Forgotten, or unfound in homes from dead, r forgotten collectors from pre-internet days. My hope is she got a good auction house to charge her 0% to sell and she did research and got herself part of the buyer's premium as well.
Awesome…idk why on earth they would display them like that with a clip holding them in place with no protective cases….great way to add indentations to their surfaces 🤦♂️
It’s blasphemy to have these insane cards displayed like a bunch of post cards or something on a board like that with no protection, if i were her I’d sue Antiques Roadshow
These cards should have been better protected. They look very vulnerable to damage with can lower the value greatly. This guy didnt know enough to protect them better. One corner ding could make a card value lower by 90 percent.
Antiques Roadshow, the gift that keeps on giving. May it never end.
The fact that there’s just a big fat stack of high quality 1948 leaf cards on the table that didn’t even warrant discussion is insane
exactly my thought

Those cards are probably of non stars which you can buy for dollars.
@@chasejackson7248 yeah because that Warren Spahn graded 8 averages 6k a card, and a pos is still 500 bucks

When was this filmed? Might have been some years ago
The centering on the middle Jackie looks outstanding.
Thanks Dad!!!
Absolutely wonderful

I agree- grade them, do not sell them to someone, they need to go to auction. Beautiful cards! I hope she keeps some to pass down to the family!
I would not run the risk….get them graded maybe keep a few but get the money now while the cards are hot
I wouldn't grade them. Some disappear, come back smashed, people will pay top dollar for raw cards like this.
@ the price difference would get astronomical to not grade them…you just have to IMO
Old cards of stars will always be worth money they will never go down.
@ agreed…grading them will only help. No way you get top dollar otherwise.
Those ted and jackie cards are GOD LIKE
Good lord Dad left her a goldmine!
❤ how wonderful for! Thanks Dad!
The Jackies look like they could potentially be very high grades and blow that estimate out of the water. Unbelievable find.
All of these cards are priceless, they could be worth over a million dollars at auction.
Wow! Incredible
Dad as a teenager setting up his grandkids and didn't even know. Or he did and that's why he was so AR. Good job Dad!
Love this show😊
BANGERs Galore 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥."... What a Great Collection!!
Dude straight up gave her the price on a PSA 1, those look like 7s which for vintage is about as good as u can find anywhere!
she gets them ALL graded and WOW... what a payday
Get them Graded! Asap

You heard they were made in 48, so they are not the original cards.
No one would have that many original Babe Ruth cards.

Not one card on that board had good centering.

Very nice. What a pleasant surprise. For sale for sure.
How did ARS not know to put these immediately in card protectors? They pinned them to a bulletin board?! As a card collector, that’s insane to me.
Those are magnets, not pins LOL
