It was funny as when Robo was waddling off to the back you could see his suit was falling apart so whoever was in there was hurrying to get back but they had to walk like Robocop but quicker

I remember leading up to the PPV they implied that Robocop and Sting would be facing the Horsemen in an actual match.

As a person who was a kid at the time and was watching wrestling then.... RoboCop was over as hell and one of the coolest things going. It's goofy looking back and wasn't excused well but it was cool at the time. God bless the days R rated movies could have toys marketed to kids. AA is, was, and always will be one of the best. Born and raised in Charlotte NC the 4 Horses Men were untouchable there. I remember going to house shows, Nitro's, and Thunder's and people getting into fist fights in the crowd over 4 horseman and the nwo. Slamboree 97 I was there and a guy threw another down three rows of seats in a crowd brawl. Also all the wrestlers would work out at Ricky Steamboat's Gold's Gym in Charlotte, it was a few miles from my grandparent's house.
This was peak Jim Herd booking. Jim Cornette went scorched earth on this 😂

Nah OSW Review have amassed a big following and even have their memes referenced by wrestlers on TV from time to time, they don’t seem to suffer from copyright strikes as much anymore, either. This podcast reminds me a lot of OSW in terms of the humour and mockery of the silly bits of the business, and I’d love to see the two podcasts do a crossover

Arn Anderson always seemed like someone who could wrestle literally anywhere and wouldn't look out of place, even among the increasingly outrageous character type wrestlers in WWF at the time. You can picture him in a bingo hall in Catford doing a great World of Sport match and then hopping on a plane and putting on one of the best matches on the card at a Wrestlemania teaming with Tully Blanchard

It doesn't help matters that they billed the PPV as the return of Robocop, This was his ONLY PPV appearance, so they acted like this was his 2nd appearance on an NWA PPV event, IT WASN'T.

WCW was truly the Heart of Darkness of Professional Wrestling. Jim Heard, Ole Anderson, Bill Watts, Eric Bischoff, Kevin Sullivan and of course Vince Russo all want different degrees of crazy trying to make WCW work.

Ahhh the nostalgia! I can remember playing Robocop on my NES right before witnessing this. As a 10 year old It was all so memorizing

It's unbelievable that one of the. most badasses wrestlers in history (Sting of course) had such a cringy looking back then

Even crazier, Robocop 2 is about Robocop killing an evil drug dealer kid. It's an insanely violent movie. It's like if you took the original movie, sucked out all of the art, and added 200 shots of stunt men getting hit with squibs. Not the most appropriate wrestling run-in, is what I'm saying.
You got to admit the overall pre-recorded promo of Sting & RoboCop was pretty cool, but the rest was just executed poorly.

This track with trying to promote Robocop 2 film coming out. Robocop also made an appearance on the UK show Gamesmaster in 1994. This was promote Robocop 3, which was released in 94 in the UK. They cut it because even they thought it was too silly for a kids' show.
Plus, it would be too late by then when they filmed the segment as the film would been out few months by then. Which would have been pointless by that point.
At this stage weren’t they keen to protect kayabe? Especially for kids - none of whom would have been old enough to see the Robocop films. It was so 90s of the toy companies to bring out lines of childrens toys based on ultra-violent films! And that was a looong time before the specialist adult collectors’ market.
I hope the new RoboCop game talks about sting and the horsemen

The most embarrassing moment in the 1990s when it comes to wrestling is quite a claim but despite some fierce competition, you might be right.
I was eight-years-old when this happened, and even I thought it was way too silly.
The funniest thing is that the RoboCop movies are definitely not for kids 🤷♂️😂 but that didn’t matter in the 90s lol 🤣
