  • One of the top questions I get is "What is the medical care like in Belize?"
The answer varies depending on exactly location. But most areas of the country have access to decent medical care.
Since most of my clients are interested in moving to Belize I focus on Ambergris Caye in this video.
    I hope it was helpful.
If you want to jump on a Zoom call with me please hit me up on the link below. Thanks! Steph and I really appreciate your continued support.

Questions not answered in this video about access to healthcare in an emergency. Is there an EMS system? Is the EMS system capable of Advanced life support and critical care? Paramedic level interventions?

Life expectancy is affected by infant mortality to a large extent. Once you get into adult life people generally live as long as in other nations.

You live up north close to the Mexican border so you can access the fancy stuff like by pass and cancer in Mexico easier.

Most golf carts are gas powered, medical is good, no waiting times in the ER, dogs are allowed on the island. :-)

I'm saying it depends on what type of health condition you have.

I am in Florida, 5 minutes from a hospital.
Whaaat? Five miles in a golf cart to the hospital on the island? You are funny!!! I have been in situations where I needed the ER room, three times, two times breathing difficulties (different reasons), the 3rd time extreme pain (needed morphine), can't imagine 5 miles in a golf cart in those situations!!! Another time, when I was dying from a cancer treatment, I had to be taken to my oncology doctor's office, which took 45 minutes, but in an air conditioned car it was doable. In a golf cart, in heat? Nah, I don't think so! Your golf cart living is not for me. In Belize I would need to live on mainland to have a car. Can't imagine my life w/o a car in critical situations!
