Park a small car on the tray as a runaround! You’d fit an old Micra or something and still have room for more stuff, and would improve the trucks ride.

Do not know for AU.
Here in NZ the NPR is 9,000 kg GVCW .
You can tow a 3.5 ton trailer and still have 3 ton on the tray here.

GCM of an NPR Tradepack is 9000 so on a car license you can tow 4.5T with a 70mm ball.

The truck itself only weights 3500kg, u can never tow anything heavier than the towing vehicle
