  • Hello again viewers! This week we have a HUGE update! We bought a truck! Specifically it's a 1999 Isuzu NPR Steak Body Turbo Diesel that has 170,000 miles on it and looks to be in great shape for the most part! It has always been a challenge coordinating with our steel supplier to get our 5x10 sheets of steel delivered, so instead we went ahead and bought our own vehicle!
    Watch along as Tay goes through the process of buying the truck, and travels to Maryland to drive it back to our shop! We will be back with a HUGE build next week so stay tuned!
    What do you think about this sweet new ride we got? Have you ever driven an Isuzu truck? Let us know in the comments below!
    Thanks for watching!

    Congratulations. I'm an Isuzu truck fanboy. They're both the most under and over rated vehicles on the road. I've got a 1995.5 GMC W4 (NPR) and a 2006 GMC T7500 (FTR). Both of my trucks are clapped out rust buckets, but I love and hate them more than any other vehicle I've owned. Be sure to keep your keep your kingpins well greased and fluids topped off. At least you're home base is relatively close to America's greatest Japanese truck salvage yard: Busbee's trucks and parts in South Carolina might end up on your speed dial.

    I live in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, about 15mins from Va / MD and 25 from Pennsylvania, so there's definitely a mix of tags.
    Generally, MD drivers are aggressive, but they're much more competent than those in Nova. In Nova, blinkers don't exist and jumping 3-4 lanes while texting is business as usual. Pennsylvania drivers are notorious for driving incredibly slow unless they are on the interstate, then it's a tossup.

    Hi. Just wanted your video. I bought a 2004 NPR-HD and am in the process of putting a utility body on it. I'm retiring in a bit and starting a home handyman business. I was just wondering a few things: 1. what do you think of truck after having owned it for 6 months. 2. have you had any issue getting parts. 3. do you feel it is dependable to take on the highway for long distances. Thanks.

      @@LiftArcStudios Thanks for getting back to me. Glad to hear you love it. I've heard they are very durable and reliable which is why I bought mine. I was wondering about the towing. I have a small Kubota tractor that I'd like to tow. But as you know the Isuzu engine is not a powerhouse so I was concerned it wouldn't do well towing a trailer with the tractor.

      They're great but some parts are a nightmare to source. There's a yoke after the driveshaft that took me a month to source. It's a discontinued part and, in 2018 at least, the only way to get them was from a junkyard truck. Had to use Busbee's in South Carolina to source the part to the tune of $400 and took two weeks to get here...

    The guy you bought that truck from sounds fishy four ways from Sunday! I wouldn't have sent him a thing until he'd given you the VIN so you could check it with the cops. And he should have stated up front he would accept only cash. He's obviously trying to evade paying taxes. Always have a mechanic familiar with that type of vehicle check it over before you complete the sale. Sorry if I sound cynical but I've been burned and I've seen a lot of my friends burned also.

    • @ckm-mkc
      @ckm-mkc Год назад +1

      I've never had any mechanic check any car, but I also restore cars for fun. If you are somewhat mechanical, you can pretty easily check things over - if you can't you can always a service like LemonSquad. And he sent the VIN. Every single car I have re-sold has sold for more than I paid for it even after using it for years. YMMV, it's been fine for me and I've owned over 30 cars.
