- Hello again viewers! This week we have a HUGE update! We bought a truck! Specifically it's a 1999 Isuzu NPR Steak Body Turbo Diesel that has 170,000 miles on it and looks to be in great shape for the most part! It has always been a challenge coordinating with our steel supplier to get our 5x10 sheets of steel delivered, so instead we went ahead and bought our own vehicle!
Watch along as Tay goes through the process of buying the truck, and travels to Maryland to drive it back to our shop! We will be back with a HUGE build next week so stay tuned!
What do you think about this sweet new ride we got? Have you ever driven an Isuzu truck? Let us know in the comments below!
Thanks for watching!

Congratulations. I'm an Isuzu truck fanboy. They're both the most under and over rated vehicles on the road. I've got a 1995.5 GMC W4 (NPR) and a 2006 GMC T7500 (FTR). Both of my trucks are clapped out rust buckets, but I love and hate them more than any other vehicle I've owned. Be sure to keep your keep your kingpins well greased and fluids topped off. At least you're home base is relatively close to America's greatest Japanese truck salvage yard: Busbee's trucks and parts in South Carolina might end up on your speed dial.
Nice. I've been trying to get ahold of a GMC t5500/6500 for awhile now
Same as my Toyota dyna diesel. These things are absolute tanks
What’s everybody’s opinion of n the GMC variant with a six speed? I have found one and leaning towards purchasing it to compliment my 2017 npr
"I'm going to send him 1000 bucks"
-Ad break
I let the ads play all the way through.
Only $999.99 more to go Tay.
Nice looking Isuzu. Always liked those little trucks. They’ll run forever.
I’m from Northern Virginia, near Maryland. Yea the traffic does suck lol. That’s every day up here. And everywhere up here ha
The headlights can be swapped to square led lights easily. Nice truck
Wow that's awesome. Hopefully you customize it a little bit. Can't wait to see more videos on this great RUclips channel. Congrats try and lift arc team. Hopefully you get great use out of it my friends. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. keep welding. Keep making. God bless.
Isuzus are nice. Dad's a big believer. He just got an 05 to replace his '90 and is fixing up a stick '88 as well.
Hello, does your dad struggle getting parts for the 88 one? im asking because someone is selling me one at a good price but i simply cant bring myself to buy it bc im afraid of not being able to source the parts.
@@juanjaimes1836 He has a 90 parts truck and not much breaks. Parts are definitely expensive though for any Isuzu.
Nice buy. These resellers are everywhere, just have to be a smart buyer. Did you ever make any follow up videos on this truck? Can't find any.
Great purchase! I’m fairly new to watching your channel and have enjoyed it immensely. I’m in that age group of grumpy old guys and I enjoy your music (LOL). You guys put on a fantastic show and have fun personalities. Thank you for the genuine and interesting content.
I drove one of these for a few years for a company.. And it was like a little tank !! As long as you keep fluids etc looked after .. I bet you've enjoyed owning it..
Had a 1999 Isuzu W4500 flatbed dump. Best truck I ever owned, sorry I ever sold it. Made me a lot of money hauling scrap and demo jobs.
I worked on NPR'S for 20+ years. You have a great truck.... Adjust the valves and be careful of the valve stim cups.
Looks like you got a good truck. Thanks 😊🙏
Nice find! Isuzu's just run & run forever!! Just recently stumbled on your channel (Thankx Y-Tube algor!) and love your style of content. Always feel like your talking to ME as you take me along thru your content. Oh BTW, for those who don't know, Wallyworld money transfer is about the safest out there & more "send to" choices than even Western Union (in the US). Yeah I know it seem sketchy to most, but think about it -who has a better logistics chain? Anyway I am following your journey in envy... Thankx again....
I hope the truck serves you well Tay...
You need to get a magnet to use on your hoist, to lift the metal plates off of the trucks, (also on the forklift).
I had a npr box truck work for Flowers Bakery out of San Antonio ,Texas All I did was replace the belt for ac .Had no problems with my bread truck .Right know looking at a 1999 Izzule npr it has 15000miles on it they are asking 5000.00 for it .They are good truck diesel .new tire .😊
For 8k that's a score!
I live in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, about 15mins from Va / MD and 25 from Pennsylvania, so there's definitely a mix of tags.
Generally, MD drivers are aggressive, but they're much more competent than those in Nova. In Nova, blinkers don't exist and jumping 3-4 lanes while texting is business as usual. Pennsylvania drivers are notorious for driving incredibly slow unless they are on the interstate, then it's a tossup.
Dude I brought my house from the Facebook marketplace lol.. Good catch on the Isuzu..

11:17 lol was it a rough landing when y'all landed the train?
Any updates on the truck purchase? What is the GVCW?
I love Isuzu NPRs! I need your help designing a Toy box/RV for Mighty Mouse Racers. Your CAD Brilliance will help me... partner. It will be made out of fiberglass.
Hi. Just wanted your video. I bought a 2004 NPR-HD and am in the process of putting a utility body on it. I'm retiring in a bit and starting a home handyman business. I was just wondering a few things: 1. what do you think of truck after having owned it for 6 months. 2. have you had any issue getting parts. 3. do you feel it is dependable to take on the highway for long distances. Thanks.
Hey there! Love the truck, no issues after this time. I hauled a car and trailer with it on the highway 2+ hours with no issues, they're tanks!
@@LiftArcStudios Thanks for getting back to me. Glad to hear you love it. I've heard they are very durable and reliable which is why I bought mine. I was wondering about the towing. I have a small Kubota tractor that I'd like to tow. But as you know the Isuzu engine is not a powerhouse so I was concerned it wouldn't do well towing a trailer with the tractor.
They're great but some parts are a nightmare to source. There's a yoke after the driveshaft that took me a month to source. It's a discontinued part and, in 2018 at least, the only way to get them was from a junkyard truck. Had to use Busbee's in South Carolina to source the part to the tune of $400 and took two weeks to get here...
But izuzus are everywhere you would think they are more prevelent
Not an Isuzu but I have a 94' Hino FA and its a challenge to find parts for these old box trucks. Luckily both companies made these trucks like tanks and are pretty reliable that regular maintenance is all they need and it'll be happy.
I lived in NOVA for over 30 years. You're absolutely correct that Marylanders CANNOT drive. 🤣🤣🤣
How is the leg room? I'm 6ft and thing of one of these,I know your taller .
I'm 6'2 and drive one of these bad boys for work. Very comfortable for me. It's more of an upright kitchen chair-like sitting posture, but it gives you better command of the big ass steering wheel and very good visibility.
6'5", fit just fine
The resellers love the rattle cans....
From Maryland here. The problem is you Virginia drivers won’t stop plugging up the damn left lane 😂
Which website did you find the truck
I found it on Facebook marketplace
Thanks bro great truck and price
The guy you bought that truck from sounds fishy four ways from Sunday! I wouldn't have sent him a thing until he'd given you the VIN so you could check it with the cops. And he should have stated up front he would accept only cash. He's obviously trying to evade paying taxes. Always have a mechanic familiar with that type of vehicle check it over before you complete the sale. Sorry if I sound cynical but I've been burned and I've seen a lot of my friends burned also.
I've never had any mechanic check any car, but I also restore cars for fun. If you are somewhat mechanical, you can pretty easily check things over - if you can't you can always a service like LemonSquad. And he sent the VIN. Every single car I have re-sold has sold for more than I paid for it even after using it for years. YMMV, it's been fine for me and I've owned over 30 cars.
You are right. When I went to Virginia, it was like every few miles I seen a wreck or a car left onside of the road lol. Just horrible.
Do you still have the contact with this guy?
Sounds like a gypsy/Roma reseller lol .
You think Maryland drivers are bad? You should come to Miami where we take pride in being the #1 worst and most aggressive drivers in the country! 😂
I was in Miami for a few days in the spring. The worst part of driving there was being passed like I was standing still while doing 70 mph in a school zone! 😉
I used to live in Orlando, and had to get on I-4 every single day. I know Miami is probably worse most of the time... but Florida interstates in general are ROUGH! haha - Walker
@@LiftArcStudios 100% Correct!! I-4 is a freakin disaster! Florida in general sucks when it comes to its traffic. But Miami has some of the worst and rudest drivers in the country! Blinkers? Only for tourists! 😂
Tell us who the seller was :)
Can confirm, thats nothing traffic. I'm not proud of this knowlege.
Yea that Walmart shit sounds like a scam
