Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
I booked the tour at the Hot Sheep ticket office on Laugavegur street. It was 12,000 kroner which is $92 USD/81 euros, but that was 30% off the normal price. If you'd like to see more of the prices of things in Iceland check out my last video filmed in Reykjavik and the Sky Lagoon: ruclips.net/video/SuAkDDI8xc0/видео.html
❤❤❤❤
Your title is most apt. Iceland IS the epitome of ... unique.
Tour guide was Scottish funnily enough
Interesting to see Iceland in winter, something not shown too much. Looking forward to seeing more. Would love to do that lagoon day you did in another recent video with the sauna etc. Looked incredible. Cheers, Gabe!
I appreciate both you guys! Big up the adventurous and kindness. One Love
Well, there's a reason for that, so little daylight! I would rather go in full summer in order to see more.
I've been to Iceland three times now and all three trips were during the cold months. Not planned just happened that way. It's a unique experience and I highly recommend it, but next time I'll come in the summer to experience the midnight sun.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos The furthest north I've been is the Isle of Skye right after the Summer Solstice. The light was that same pinkish color, except it was around 1 am.
Looks like we have more of a winter in norway then island
Keflavik airport used to be a NATO base from WW2 till 2006. I lived there from 1970-1973 (6th-8th grade for me) during the height of the cold war. It's very interesting watching your videos, brings back memories. I would like to go back for a visit someday.
If you get sick of the snow and the cold in Iceland you can come to Ireland and enjoy the rain and the cold instead, nice video 👍
Yeah definitely worth coming in the summer because you can rent a car and drive everywhere and the scenery is beautiful in the summer where you can see different colours and landscapes. Plus the weather is better in the summer.
Was so nice going there in the summer with a rental car and having 24 hours of daylight to hike and explore.
@@RonlyBonly I agree it’s beautiful in the summer. In winter you can only see black and white outside the towns and cities, not the colours in the summer
Iceland is truly incredible!
The tour guide did a great job--he was friendly, helpful, and very informative.
Exactly.
During of all the tours I did in Iceland I had the same experience. Amazing people!
Went to Iceland two years ago, its amazing to revisit these places through your videos! Keep up the work
I wish you were still our president
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
this is much better than marrocko no hustlers no scammer just beautiful and amazing nature and places.
Maybe is paradox but i like this cold, dark and gray Iceland more than sunny Morocco. Fascinating place!
Mind-blowing terrain. I hope to go before the people and prices return.
Twelve years ago I fell during an ice storm two days before Christmas and broke my hip. Had surgery on Christmas morning. Iceland is certainly beautiful but it brought up some PTSD issues for me! Excellent tour and guide! Thanks, Gabe! ❄️💨☃️
Beautiful Snæfellsnes! My most favorite place to view from western Reykjavík (Grótta shore) especially at sunset, you might see the glacier/volcano Snæfellsjökull and the mountains from the other side of the sea. Snæfellsnes is actually a quite mystical place and the glacier/volcano is thought to be a vortex and the heart chakra of Earth. Just magical. I never get bored of the view from Grótta, beautiful place for a stroll. Thank you for a another amazing video, I am glad you did not take any chances on the winter roads. The weather is so unpredictable.
Incredible scenery, Gabe. It's like the surface of an alien planet out there!
Yeah man. You should return to Iceland in summer. Me and my friends had a mate in Reikjavik and we did the whole ring road in his car. Best 10 days of my life. The Volcano was still active and sun never went down. We stayed in tents, cooked every meal ourselves. I could send you our route with all the stops we took because it was truly epic, especially with a local. Many “secret” spots. The whole trip with plane tickets was less than 500 euros
that sounds incredible! I am planning a trip myself for this upcoming summer and would love to mimic your trip and would appreciate any and all itinerary advice you would have to offer!!
Sounds crazy cool. I'll be back.
@@sirjesseterrell here is a rough route. Red marks are the places where we spent nights. 6 of 10 nights in a tent. Green spots are more unpopular but they are the best ones! We were fishing using only string and a hook (and some frozen shrimp) and making the best fish n chips ourselves. Ofcourse the Fagradalsfjall volcano and the glaciers, especially Vatnajokull and Jokulsarlon were the most mesmerizing spots.
Iceland truly is a beautiful and magical country. I'm fortunate to have been there a couple of times and did a number of tours of various areas, including one where I flew up to Akureyri as a starting point. One of my favourite tours has to be the one to the area around Vik, which was just stunning. I'm never really a fan of tours, but they're almost mandatory in Iceland, you learn so much more than just driving around yourself. Also hearing of all the myths, legends and sagas also adds to the mystical atmosphere.
I do have to ask though, how come the population of Reykjavik seems to vary so widely from one video to the next?!
Good question about the population. I just checked on google and if you enter in Reykjavik population it says 122,000. But if you click on wikipedia it says 131,00. So I guess that's why I listed it differently in different videos.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos That number depends whether or not they include the "Greater Reykjavik" municipal areas like Kopavogur, Gardabaer and Mosfellsbaer. Those being included means a population number of around 228.000.
@@speckgens Exactly. It's always a bit of an issue when listing the population of any city because there are different numbers depending on what you include.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Maybe just include the population of the whole of Iceland?
Awesome video. Thanks for this. This has me so excited going in March for 10 day ring road tour . So excited.
Truly amazing Gabe! Just stunning.
Hi Gabriel! My daughter, Gabrielle, traveled to Reykjavik, for her 30th birthday. She rented a car and traveled around. No tours, but went on a boat ride and had dinner with the Captain’s family..Your videos are amazing and really show your brave independence. Thanks!
That's good to hear, glad she had a nice time.
I'm lovin' your "BRAVEHEART" tour guide!!
Spectacular scenery, nowhere else compares...
Unbelievable terrain in Iceland, very unique and beautiful. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Excellent video G. Love the idea of enjoying a full tour with you. Feel like I am there. Truly providing us with great insight as to what we may want to prioritize in world travel and for our "bucket lists."
Saved this to my RUclips playlist
It's near the bottom of my travel list right up there with Morocco. Just a rock with ice. ,
I have never been to Iceland. Thank you Gabriel for taking me there.
Glad to see it from your perspective. You're lucky with the weather!
Those rock pillars are exactly what the Reykjavik church (Hallgrímskirkja) is referencing. Safe travels!
Wow, you could be on Mars and we’d believe you, crazy beautiful, thanks Gabe!
My brother and his wife recently took their honeymoon out in Iceland. He said he wished he spent more time outside of Reykjavik. Thanks for the tour!
The scenery reminds me a bit of western Ireland, near Dingle/Ring of Kerry, but much more massive!
Good you didnt go solo driving, we do need more of your future videos...and not missing somewhere in middle of nowhere in middle of winter in Iceland
Iceland Is my dream destination ❤️
I’m feeling another Santa Village visit soon….
Stunning! So much natural beauty. Thanks for taking us along👍
Wow. Some of the beach areas look like scenery from another planet.
I thought for a second there, Gabriel was going to say the "Snuffleupagus" coast...

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Good old days.
Yep. :)
Id love to try that bread they cook in the hot ground 😊
Gabriel Indeed no place on Earth is as beautiful and charming as Iceland .
Come to ladakh. .Tibet to witness true beauty
@@VishalLandge thanks for the recommendation, how beautiful is it over there in Tibet ?
Hello, I really learn English with you. You speak very understandably, it is good for us who do not have perfect language skills. I have been following and enjoying you for a very long time. Support from Serbia 👍👍
4:04 this would what look like the first human settlement on Mars I guess :P Iceland is very interesting, thanks for taking us to this not much explored country Gabe 💫
Spent three nights in Iceland in 2018. Fell in love with the landscapes. Absolutely the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Around 15.00 in Gabe’s video reminds me a lot of what I saw. Will go back as soon as I can.
It is really grand and spectacular and seems like a place in a different planet. Thanks for sharing.
That's where I'm going next... can't wait
The landscapes are really spectacular! Iceland looks really amazing during winter. If only there was a little more daylight and sunshine during this season....Quite a change there after Morocco :)
Really really beautiful landscapes😭
It's too beautiful and tears come out 😭
Thank you for the wonderful video!
Pressed Good 👍
Greeting from Japan🇯🇵
Earth is Paradise.
Spectacular… I can’t wait for the day I return… I miss Iceland 🇮🇸 💔

Beautiful amazing cool👍
Each to their own ❄️
Great video as always!! Iceland is my dream destination!!
Awesome Gabe you don't let anything stop you travelling and now you have your dream job!
A truly magnificent day today . To be able to watch your video is really wonderful and has made my day.Thank you dear friend!!!!🤩❤👍
Iceland is truly a mesmerizing place and those mountains shaded by the clouds looks absolutely phenomenal and seeing from the surrounding rocks seems most of the Icelandic lands are mainly of volcanic rocks.
Iceland 🇮🇸 is 30% larger than Ireland and about the size of the US state of Ohio. Puts it in perspective. Much bigger than it looks on the map. Looking forward to exploring Iceland 🇮🇸
Iceland's entire population is about that of Cincinnati's proper.
And very different highway system than Ireland, you can't drive straight across the island but have to wind around the edge on small, winding roads, so much longer driving times. Plus of course more unpredictable weather.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I know the tour bus isnt your typical method of traveling, but it's a good call on this trip. Way too many downsides. I live in northern Nevada. People don't realize how easy it is to get stranded in remote areas, especially in winter. Can't imagine trying it in Iceland in the winter with the ocean next to you on icy roads and no guardrails. I'd really like to travel to Iceland especially in summer.
Great video! I never knew Iceland is so beautiful. Just be careful on the ice. That’s how I broke three bones in my ankle. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Incredible.
What a cool place in Iceland... I was in the Navy and I one year in Reykjavik Iceland 40 years ago. Truly fascinating place. Maybe I will go back and visit.
Iceland is very unique. One is Iceland. Second is Patagonia. Third is Antarctica. All are on my bucket list. Keep dreaming myself. I wish you would be able to go to Patagonia and Antarctica one day. I recall in the nineties, I watched Rick Steve travel video tapes. He focused on Europe in those days and he visited almost every European countries accompanied by local guides to show him the attractions, cultures and foods.
Thanks for sharing your tours. I’m definitely a big fan
Beautiful! Thank you.
Snæfellsjökull is a stratovolcano. Last eruption, since you were wondering, 1700 years ago. Most of what you saw was basalt. The darker basalt is, younger is the lava Field 😉
Beautiful Iceland! Thank you Gabriel! Stay safe ❤🙏❤
Thank you.
As a note rental cars (or cars for hire) are available with 4WD and studded snow tires. Hit some storms during trip in October and the Dacia Dasher we rented did great. Enjoyed the video.
Snaefellnes is amazing. Enjoy!
Awesome ty! THOSE cliffs are beautiful..lucky you!
I have been in Iceland twice! Both times only switching planes. Hey! I can say I was in Iceland, right? 🤪 Someday, I'd love to go to Iceland and tour it. I find it fascinating. I would certainly do it in the summer, however, with the midnight sun. Seeing it in the winter though is very interesting. Gabriel, did you get a chance to witness the northern lights? Great video, Gabriel. Thanks for the upload!
The only place I've seen the lights is in Alaska, but I've seen some really epic multi-colored ones.
Beautiful scenery the colours are awesome...
If you have the money, you should go ‘into the vulcano’. The only place in the world you can enter the Hollywood inside of a vulcano. I found it amazing!
Winter in Iceland wow nice video Gabe
Fantastic scenery ! And I certainly don't blame you not attempting that circular drive !
Its very 'other worldly' looking...what an experience
landscape looks amazing but at same time melancholic and mysterius difficult to explain
If you've been here three times in winter you seriously need to come early July. When's the lupin is in full blossom and sun light 24/7.
It's another Iceland with another nation too. People are different here in summer. Very hyper active all over the place partying, bbq-ing and climbing mountains and shit. We don't sleep much during the brightest time of the year 😊
Looking forward to seeing it with the midnight sun.
Definitely agree! So glad I got to visit Iceland just a few weeks ago. Made a useful vlog for anyone trying to visit 😆😆😆
..funnily enough when I did the Snaefellsnes tour in 2016, the guide was Scottish too. His name was Ian.
Excellent video. Perth Ozzie 45C here today and it's 9PM and still 36C. The coldest I get is opening the fridge for another beer.
Stay cool!
I did this day tour, it was amazing! So glad to revisit this place. Great video 😊
Wow, just wow
Thanks for sharing.
Good one. Like the nature footage over city. Brutal climate
Magical and magnificent. Great video, Gabriel. 👍😊
Beautiful scenery .
Great video... September had autumn scenes
Iceland has some real rough terrain....at first I thought about driving around the island but that is one HUGE island and kinda barren from the looks of it. might just have to keep it to day trips! But $27 USD for a burger and a small beer is like wow expensive!! Hope is was great!
😀😀😀😀
You can imagine Kirkjufell Mountain is shaped by a glacier thousands of years ago
We drove the whole Ring Road (and some side trips) in 10 days this summer - best vacation ever! (Blue Lagoon is hyped, I wouldn't go there again when we travel back).
DJ Gabe should make a RUclips Video Soundtrack Playlist and Epidemic Sounds and YT should sponsor his music selection for his videos. DJ GABRIEL TRAVELERRRRRR
Thanks man. It's one of my closet dreams to be a DJ.
The wife and I enjoy your going on tours a lot, plus it's good for you to be able to socialize some. Iceland looks amazing, but think I would prefer summer there
The closest place to Iceland I lived in was Norderney a northern sea German island.
But this is definitely something rarely different. Thanks for the upload.
Good workout with the heavy rock. 🤎
Exquisite so so different……Thank You Gabriel
Looks very much like a frozen version of the coast at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Wow, simply different than anywhere else in the world. And it is totally clear why there were so many Icelandic sagas in literature. ;)
when you decide to do the ring road i recommend doing the westfjords too. Sure the roads there are sketchy but its a beautiful place
What did you expect in December in Iceland? Summer road conditions? I am sure the cars to rent there are capable to handle winter conditions. I wouldn't have missed that chance. It is only snow (and fun to drive). I would have rented an ATV.
Hey Gab... Great Views 😎
I miss Iceland, amazing place for sure.
Enjoy the trip 👍👍
Landscape reminds me of Scotland. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for all the videos! Next time you’re at Reagan (DCA) you are welcome here. We’re 5 minutes away in Alexandria, VA.
i'm planning the ring road trip right now! I'll be there a week in July
Gabriel, never rent a car to travel on your own in cold winter months. A Chinese couple died in Iceland in cold winter months when the car broke down in the middle of no where. They were frozen to death. Trust me, a lot of travel bloggers go to exotic foreign countries with group tours, so local guides show them the attractions and they just make videos of the places. Please play safe ! This is a great video, Gabriel. Thank you.
20:00 Those are exactly the type of rock formations that the Hallgrímskirkja church got it's design from.
Hella cool.
