All of Iceland is really beautiful, but these parts remind me of the time I served in the danish army and we had to spend nearly a month in Greenland, so I prefer watching it on screen! :))
Iceland is famous for being called the Land of Fire and Ice because of its volcanoes and glaciers. It is dotted with natural wonders such as The Blue Lagoon and Dettifoss Waterfall. Iceland is also known for its rich cultural history, Norse mythology, folklore, and having no official family names!
Hallo mr. Gabriel traveler, I have watch your video about your visit to the capital of Iceland. Might say very interested city and country, so far in the north atlantic ocean with such a cold weather. Nice to watch your visit to the glacier and snow tunnels in the interior part of the island. The interior was nice to watch, with lots of snow to see. The capital Reykjavik is a clean and nice city with not so busy streets as in Paris France or Amsterdam, The Netherlands. That they use the Schengen visum zone was good to hear. That Ice land is so expensive after Zwitserland was a surprise to hear for me. My compliments for making such a nice video about Iceland. I was watching this video from Paramaribo in Suriname, where we speak the Dutch language...... Marty
I absolutely love your videos! Such a treat to see another one. Found you near the beginning of the pandemic and to be able to 'go' places I will probably never go is wonderful. Thank you.
Man your video craftsmanship just gets better and better. We are so very lucky to view thru your lenses. The haunting music is the 🍒cherry on top. Mahalos
This is one of your most unique and amazing videos, very informative and I couldn't take my eyes off the entire time..... so glad your still having best times ever, watched you for years now, kinda grew watchin you! I wonder how they stayed warm for the 7 days they was lost in that cave!
Even have no green trees and any flower around, it looks beautiful combination with sunshine and its green river moreover if we look from top with drone 😍. Any polar bear there 🤔. Thank you for hardworking made this live vlog since cold weather 🥶 and far distance, I feel like watching National Geographic TV show. Very incredible.
@@mutiasariperboelana8059. We don't have polar bears in Iceland but they have sometimes come here to Iceland thou on some broken ice from Greenland. And if they do they usually get shot right away.
@@ingibjornbjornsson4958 how Iam sad they get shot 😢. they just found something to eat for life as greenland wasn't possible enough to get some food due to melting ice there. @@mutiasariperboelana8059. Yeah it is sad that they get shot but they also attack people if they see people. In Svalbard wich is a big Island of north Norway and belongs some part of it to Norwegians they have problems with them there. There are more polar bear there then people so all the people who live in that small town there in Svalbard need to carry a gun when they go out for a walk because they come often to town to look for food.
Be honest Gabriel: YOU LIKE THE ICE AND THE SNOW MORE THAN ANY WARM SCENERY? I watch your Journey to Alaska / JUNE and so on. You love it....and I like it more too!!!!
Glad to see you wearing safe shoe wear on icy roads. I can tell you a broken wrist injury is a very painful. ( I suffered one 2019 after falling on ice 2019 and it took 4 months until my hand was fit for use again. ) Not to mention of many other injuries you may get if not wearing safe foot wear either spiked boots or rubber strings for your shoes with iron spikes. Spiked rubber strings for shoes can be bought fairly cheap in Nordic countries.
Beautiful! I walked on the Athabaska glacier in Canada . It was summer and there were small streams from the melting ice. The crevasses were downright scary.

Truly a paradise of surrealness and really seems you went to a different planet, but couldn't got the point in here 8:08 how it can be chilly to swim because the waterfall emerges from the lava field and flow into the river, so it can be hot.
Hi Gabriel, fun fact: I had a similar experience about not being able to see everything while traveling in Iceland ! But I'm planning to comeback and that's what makes life purposeful
The prices for that tour and their food are quite high for 1 person but it is always great seeing you enjoying yourself! And you deserve this Gabriel! Right now in Saskatchewan it is -23 so - 3 is mild! We have tons of snow and open skies so we watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets and Northern Lights from our windows. Ice and snow we get enough of 6-4 months so I would not plan a trip there but I am sure folks can appreciate it if they come from warm climates.
The sound of crunchy snow under foot just gets me every time! I love it so much! Iceland is just another level of beauty- I hope I get to go back one day, just need to save up some gold bars!! 😂😂😂 awesome work - loving this series Merry Christmas from Charlie xx
Amazing video! Thank you 🙏🏻 I used to think that Barnafossar (childrens waterfall) had its name due to the many small waterfalls, them being like baby waterfalls. I guess my mom spared me the sad story when I was a kid. But I’ve always been fond of those beautiful waterfalls. Glaciers are so magnificent, I was almost starting to worry if you had your sunglasses with you but then you went into the tunnels so no worries. I’ve had many beautiful experiences here but one of the most amazing one was sailing on the glacier lagoon of Vatnajökull. I guess exploring nature and the experiences always depend on the weather. You got so lucky this time! Thank you again for showing me the magic of my own country, I just love it!
Too spooky for me, going into that glacier. Was in Iceland Oct 1985, it was cold enough then for me. Very low key then. Very safe. Sure has grown since. Stay safe.
Wow, G, that was super 👌 cool. I've been to Iceland in summer, but winter it must be like a different planet. Thanks for sharing, I dislike the cold so would probably never visit in winter, so happy you shared.
Your first tour guide seemed fun. It's kind of incredible how the ceiling just sort of slowly sinks from the weight. I always imagine ice as being brittle. Also, I would think it'd be easier to use heat to carve the ice but of course, what do I really know?
Icelandic: Þú ert hér. It's very similar to Archaic English, ‘Thou art here,’ meaning ‘You are here.’ There was a time where you could go between Scandinavia, including Iceland, and to the British Isles, and you'd need to spend a day at most to get used to the language. It was _that_ similar.
Hi, Gabriel, That was amazing that glacier was incredibly massive I could see how you could lost in there. From what see in Iceland you could snorkel between between two tectonic plates In a location called Iceland’s Silfra Fissure is located within the heart of Thingvellir National Park. Iceland has some incredible natural wonders.
@@ingibjornbjornsson4958 I believe they aren't releasing the new episodes here in North America until after the New Year sometimes but if you could send me a link from where you are (Iceland I presume) perhaps I can get to see them earlier. Thanks!
@@rocco.... I think they will go straight to Netflix after they bin all showed in Iceland first i think. I am from Iceland but i live in Norway so i haven't seein it yet myself. They just show one episode once a week on Icelandic tv. So yeah just need to be patient man 🙏😊😁
Bought 'Following My Thumb', reading it right now. My instincts (and a couple of very similar experiences of my own) tell me that Sandra was already previously 'with' Tom, they separated for whatever reason, but then got back together. I could be wrong though. Whatever the truth of it was, I am sure you did the best thing by choosing to ramble on anyway.
Gabe, you should get yourself a job in Iceland for a few weeks to offset expenses. Just the work experience could generate some interesting vlog posts. Plus, you'd make more connections.
Back to Juneau......there have been ice caves at the Mendenhall Glacier for a while. They will probably be there next year...or this year. As the ice recedes new caves are formed. The old caves collapse and new ones form. But you have no protection in the Juneau caves😲
Nice glacier and some things here are very informative (like "age lines", similar to that of trees). For the glacier vehicle, it looks like its snow tires have metal studs in them to improve grip on packed snow and ice - because they can do damage to asphalt roads, they are prohibited in some countries, but they are very useful on glaciers and snowy Nordic countries where snow is for very great part of the year (just like snowmobiles are very useful there). I believe that this glacier was Langjökull? When you come back in some hotter parts of the year, maybe you can go to the Iceland's largest glacier Vatnajökull (on the eastern part of the island) which is the second largest glacier in Europe after Severny Island ice cap of Novaya Zemlya. Have a nice time in the Caribbean now!
Looks like you're continuing to have an amazing time here in Iceland. (Sorry about the odd Eastern European tour "guide" here every now and then. They need the work and we need staff, so...) Hopefully though, you'll have more local guides on your future travels.) Keep up the good work!
What about ventilation in the Ice Cave, I didn't see any means of introducing fresh air into the space. I'm quite sure there was some METHANE gas being let loose in the cave, so it has to escape somewhere, or else you will have a buildup of flammable gas.
In general what's your personal opinion about the quality of life, welfare in Icenland? I'm thinking of asking to my company to send me to our base in Icenland. Meanwhile you are welcome to Malta mate. Cheers
