Gabe, I respect your grind. When I’m traveling and filming, I’m often too tired to keep up with the editing so I’ll often be 1 month or more behind on videos. The up to date videos you do are honestly like a niche you’ve carved out in the travel vlog niche. I don’t know anyone who grinds as much as you. People will never realize the amount of hours that didn’t equate to much profit creators like yourself have put into make this a profitable and possible gig. Mad respect
Your travelling experience is worth to see, as you completely devote yourself towards exploring of places, which gives a proper documentary coverage with inner depth to gather some knowledge and ideas to learn for the viewers.
You've got the right strategy as you appear to be exploring before most of the city gets going in the morning. This is for sure a good idea for minimising hassle while visiting Morocco.
Exactly right we spend hours in from of our laptops doing the tedious editing! However, I'm massively impressed with how much content you put out - I can't manage the amount of content you push out but I keep slogging away - keep safe on your travels Gabriel
Hi Gabe I've been travelling the globe thanks to you for a few years now, and I can do it only because of the quality of your videos. Being totally dependent on the speed of the internet to be able to post what you spent hours editing must be very disturbing. Your job can look as a dream job, but it's also a quite "risky" one... But you make lots of people who can't do it otherwise visit the world, and you are your own boss, so kudos for that.🙏 And you make 503k of people happy with what you create!
Dude you most certainly have the ultimate life but I for one never thought what you were doing was easy by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve made wedding videos and things of that nature for friends and family and I always hate editing those videos so I have a huge amount of respect for how dedicated you are to pumping out these awesome videos on a daily basis.
Gabe, this place looks insanely beautiful. It's on my list to visit now. The is the valuable content that the world needs. Not everyone is gonna be able to go to these small towns, it's logistically difficult. So when you capture these places and experiences it inspires people to check it out.
I don't agree with you the roads in Morocco are good as well as the transportation is excellent you can easily reach anywhere if you want to try travelling to Morocco so welcome
@@simoaitlkhal7545 I'm talking about the majority of inexperienced travelers - they aren't going to venture off to these small towns and try to navigate train stations, buses etc. I'm not talking about simply the infrastructure but just even getting on the right train, asking for directions when you don't speak the local language, taking public transport etc - that is intimidating for most travelers.
You are truly meant for this life of traveling Gabriel! 😊 I really enjoy what you share, your stories you tell, very interesting! Thank you for showing us other countries! 😊❤🙏

Beautiful video, Gabe. Thanks for taking us through this beautiful city. And thanks for the honesty and transparency about how you do what you do. I do wonder if you feel like it's harder to enjoy traveling with that pressure to constantly edit, film, and searching for wifi. It was nice of you to give the elderly gentleman some money. I think he just wanted to buy some food (with the hand gesture he made) Many don't have a regular income, it's decent of you to help out even if it's a little.
To me the main issue was and still is the lack of deep intimate relationships with anyone. I am also a digital nomad or remote worker and honestly became very depressed of moving from place to place without any fulfilling relationships and without being part of that. Now I'm more careful about this and try not move to another place if the social life is good where I am and if I see hope and opportunities for that there. If its not looking so good then I can move to another more promising place. I know that this is what I really need and what truly matters at the end of the day. I never really wanted to travel just for the sake of travelling but always hoped to find some beautiful connections with others wherever I would go. So sometimes I think that the kind of life Jonna Jinton shows on her channel is something I would prefer if I could find those things there but that may not be that easy at all
Appreciate what you do. I think it’s worth looking into mobile internet satellites which you can pack and carry with you in your travels. It would help in uploading videos if local internet reception is not great. I remembered watching a video some years ago of Drew Binsky packing one of them on his videos where he described what he packs for trips.
You mean like a mobile wifi device? There's one called Skyroam. The problem with that option was that when I looked into it there was limited data allowed, not enough for me to upload videos every day.
Good that you brought this up. Many don't realize this part of what you are doing. I am not a youtuber but I am running my travel website since 2005. It was never aimed or deigned to draw traffic. I have done it all for fun since I don't need to do it to get an income as I have a regular job. I made in total about 300 USD in these 15 years. :-) :-) I don't know how many hours I have spent uploading pictures and writing. Sometimes for 3-4 months almost every day 2-4 hours, travelling non-stop. I am not at all complaining cause I chose to do it. It is kind of a love and hate relationship that I have with the website.
Your videos are kind of secret life of a working man with wife, kids and mortgage. Being a digital nomad sounds great escape and freedom to me, but sure there are those stress factors you mentioned. But somehow it is fun to identify with your adventures. Please keep on travelling and sharing these stories! 👍
I can definitely understand the finding strong enough internet to upload issue. Once I had to wait 2 days for a video to upload! Traveling as a job is fascinating in many ways, that’s why I do it, but of course there is plenty of actual work & grind that goes into making it a business too.

Thanks Gabriel for this interesting video. Luckily you enjoy doing what you're doing otherwise you wouldn't do it. But surely over the years you must find editing your videos to be easier
I noticed all the cats in Morocco, but I haven't seen any dogs. Have you?. And the streets are so clean but there is no soil or earth anywhere. It makes me wonder where all the cats do their business and does it smell weird in those little alley areas? Today we finally see a few children, I wonder where they play? So many questions about how they live in these homes down the ally ways of Morocco.
I follow a guy who posts walks of him from the city where he lives(he also talks about random stuff while doing those walks). He does zero editing as far as I know, and posts a video almost every day. The footage feels very raw and authentic and I’ve almost never felt like he needs more editing TBH. Maybe that’s something to consider to increase revenue and output? You would also get a more chronological feel for your videos, like “Morocco day #5: The medina in whatever”, and then people would feel incentivised to press on “day #6” to get the follow-up. I also feel like your videos can become way too meta, like this one, where you talk about something completely unrelated to where you’re at. Maybe save those for in between the destinations? I’ve never seen another travel blogger talk about how he makes money and share old stories while he’s in the middle of some beautiful old town. I also feel like this is something you’ve started doing more often the last two years or so. Your old videos almost always had a 100% focus on the current destination.
I am sure it is a grind to constantly get out videos, but it all comes down to choices. If you are happy with your choices all the unpleasant things become minor annoyances. That said I wanted to say I enjoy the content, Thank you
On hash in Morocco, hash production's been a long tradition up in the Rif region which is where you are in this video :). Just earlier this year it was legalized for medical, commercial & industrial uses. These uses of cannabis have been tolerated for a long time BUT recreational use is not and remains illegal.
Is so true, for a couple hours of freedom wandering, it takes often times 4-10 hours of editing, answering questions, research and on and on. It is a full commitment to pull it all off ;>) Grinding the grind.
Congrats for reaching 500k subs, the last 2 weeks were 499k. Followed you in the early days (2014?) when your subs were still 4 or 5 digits if I remembered.

Hey, Gabriel. I thought you were Canadian. In any case, I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving with your family. I hope that some day you will showcase my country, Nicaragua. Just say when and you'll have room and board and home base and I'll point you in the right direction of places to see for travelers but not tourists.
I'm dual American/Canadian. They also celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada, but on a different day. I'd love to visit Nicaragua someday, I've heard good things.
Have you ever been somewhere that you loved so much that you actually slowed down and just hung out? I love editing videos. It's my only creative outlet right now. Takes forever...and I'm talking a 7 minute video!! You're in a different situation that I am tho. I've enjoyed your fast internet as well...each morning I'm like, "Damn he posted another one, awesome!"

17:24 It's legal to produce cannabis for medical and industrial purposes but not for recreational use. Consumption is still prohibited in Morocco but tolerated.
One wonders how they designed and constructed these communities when they did . Very confusing . No street signs either. Are there street lights on these alleys ? Must be dark at night. And no GPS or maps for these places( I would think).
I can relate. As a former what was then called a MOJO or Mobile Journalist going to the event or thing to cover was the easy part doing the article was the work part and trying to find wifi or hopefully a strong phone signal so I could use my jetpack or internet device with my laptop, The technology has improved quite a bit since then. Maybe the Starlink system will help improve things in the future.
maybe try to reduce your postings to every other day, i think even that would be far more than most bloggers, especially with the amount of subs you have. i would wager that one change would really improve your personal sanity and increase your personal time on the road. you do such a great job, thank you!
It's not a terrible idea, one that I've aspired to achieve at times yet somehow I always end up with tons of footage. Partly because some of my videos don't involve a lot of filming so it doesn't take all day. For example this video was filmed as one 24 minute clip and then minimal editing. Others involve filming for much of the day and possibly days of editing. But I know some guys will spend a week or even months editing one video. Different approaches to the biz.
P.S ... These pretty alley ways and avenues remind me of St .Ives Cornwall England 🏴... have you ever considered walking the coast of Devon and Cornwall?😊 Tintagel castle 🏰 and much more
Yeah, I understand the pain of editing for hours. 🤪 I find it extremely challenging to focus on editing when it’s really nice and sunny out. it’s absolutely unbelievable how many videos you’ve produced lately, and also just how frequently you move to different cities. What you mentioned about going to 12 different locations to upload a video on Santorini… oh my! 😮 Have you thought about outsourcing your video edits to someone?
The blue of the alleys makes it look so peaceful, but I’m thinking it’s not at all peaceful in reality :). I’m a solo traveler too but just for myself and I only travel a few months tops in any given year. I love it but even that’s exhausting, so all of your travel and videos amazes me! It’s a lot of work! Sometimes finding working wifi feels like a part-time job! I watch these videos to see places I’ve been to or places I’m thinking of going to. Morocco looks great but if la, shokrun doesn’t work for a solo male traveler I don’t want to try it as a female! I understand people selling souvenirs and guides make their living that way, but it can be overwhelming. I have this grand plan that on my next trip to Egypt I’m hiring a guide to be a quiet bodyguard so I can explore silently and uninterrupted! One can dream. Thanks for all the videos!
Gabe, I respect your grind. When I’m traveling and filming, I’m often too tired to keep up with the editing so I’ll often be 1 month or more behind on videos. I would love to see hash making in Morocco. I'm sure other people would too. Marocco makes some of the best hashish in the world. 😀😀😀
So, how was the HASH??? :D
I can relate.
As a former what was then called a MOJO or Mobile Journalist going to the event or thing to cover was the easy part doing the article was the work part and trying to find wifi or hopefully a strong phone signal so I could use my jetpack or internet device with my laptop,
The technology has improved quite a bit since then.
Maybe the Starlink system will help improve things in the future.
A strong family emotional support is important when you know you can always go home on festivals and holidays.
Fantastic vids Gabriel ready for your next trip 👍

What are the names of the colors of blues used? It’s beautiful thanks for sharing
I’m literally loving your videos so much , thank u for visiting Morocco, I hope u can visit Casablanca as well 🙏🏻
Thank you
maybe try to reduce your postings to every other day, i think even that would be far more than most bloggers, especially with the amount of subs you have. i would wager that one change would really improve your personal sanity and increase your personal time on the road. you do such a great job, thank you!
P.S ... These pretty alley ways and avenues remind me of St .Ives Cornwall England 🏴... have you ever considered walking the coast of Devon and Cornwall?😊
Tintagel castle 🏰 and much more
I visited Cornwall when I was 18, went to a hostel somewhere that required hiking along the coast. I'd love to go back to that area.
Have you thought about outsourcing your video edits to someone?
Great video my friend.
Gonna watch this tomorrow! 🙌😎
GABE congrats 🎉🎊🥳 on hitting 🎯 500k subs. 🙏🏻🕉️🇮🇳
It is not safe to hike alone unless you join a local tour like many other bloggers do.
