Billy Talent, Angelmaker, Counterparts, Spiritbox, Archspire, Despised Icon, Depths Of Hatred are a few Canadian bands you may know and should check out if you don't !
I just realized I've been watching this channel for a couple years and I was never subscribed!! 🤯 I'm so sorry I've rectified my mistake (on my favorite Canadian band's song/video nonetheless 😉)
This was really cool. Definitely some As I Lay Dying vibes at points. Just gotta say, I thinks it's funny the way you get so bored if a metalcore band does cleans but you often praise deathcore songs that do it. That's not a jab or anything, just an observation, lol. Favorite Canadian band is probably Simple Plan.
Probably has something to do with the fact it’s not very common at all in deathcore, and when it’s done it’s also usually done much differently in deathcore.
This is their best song in my opinion, I love the heavy but the contrast is dope with the chorus. This song and 1984 by slaughter are my favorite songs of the year.
Lol who gives a fuck what redditors say, they cry over everything. This is def a deathcore track IMO, cleans are sick as fuck, not sure if their being cleans solely making it “metal core” or not deathcore. Like I said who gives a shit. This track is Fuckin heavy and we should all just enjoy it.
Lorna Shore & Brand Of Sacrifice are literally my favorite deathcore bands. Regardless of what people think of either of them, I love everything either band does, and I will always support them. But, this a prime example of why I love BOS.
CARVE YOUR FACE OUT! These guys just get better and better. That BLEGH(!) was amazing and perfectly placed, like everything in this song. A 10/10 for me, for sure! The video was awesome too, like every BoS video. My fav canadian band... this has become difficult recently, to be honest. 🤣 3 years ago I would have said Unleash The Archers, no doubt, but now it's getting very hard. I still stick with UTA for now, but that could change if BoS would release an album next year. 🤘
Glitchy sound effects and electronic elements are not redefining deathcore. Cleans in deathcore are something I love, but very rarely can any deathcore vocalists carry a tune in a bucket. Learn to sing before you sing. Favorite Canadian band: Swollen Members
Not saying I DONT enjoy it. But it’s just kind of getting annoying with everybody copying Dickie Allen. I’m sure he doesn’t mind but the goblin/creature scream is getting stamped in a lot now (Lorna and now this).
Billy Talent is my fave canadians! I was a bit disappointed in this one actually. The mix felt a bit too busy, and the chorus, though cool with the cleans and a good voice, was nothing that special. I expect more from Brand, my second fave canadians.
Deathcore can 100% use cleans, imo. Hell, Shadow of Intent made great use of sparing cleans on both Reclaimer and Melancholy (the albums, not the tracks necessarily). Anyone who's willing to write off a track/album/band because there's cleans is, imo, a goober.
That doesn't piss off Lorna fans. Lorna fans just find it funny that now any time a deathcore band does a breakdown, people feel the need to compare it to Lorna. Good try though. 😊
@@Joose I laugh everytime someone tries to act like Will is better than Ben Duerr, Kyle, or Tom. You know the fans that only listen to the hellfire and the breakdown and not the 5min of redundant structure. I'm not comparing I'm pointing out the fact that lorna is a one trick pony. Every single song is laid out the same.
@@Vageater 🥱🥱🥱 If you think it's all the same, you don't listen. Keep being crybabies though. It's hilariously sad how you kids have created all these deathcore band vs deathcore band clubs that you belong to. Meanwhile, all the bands are friends and just enjoying what they do.
Lorna shore is great but brand of sacrifice is heavier. The mid screams of will Ramos are god like but when it comes to growls and high tones Kyle takes it overrall that’s my opinion. We are in the best era for death core
We are definitely in the best era of deathcore. But we may be in the worst era of deathcore fandom. Everything is a comparison to another band. Everything has to fit into a specific box, or else it's "not real deathcore".... or the opposite, everything has to fall outside of the usual sounds or else it's "all the same"...
I really don't feel like Lorna Shore are that heavy, especially when compared to bands like BoS and Slaughter to Prevail. There are plenty of metalcore bands that are heavier than LS. I think LS are awesome, btw, its just weird thinking of them as deathcore. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Favorite band from Canada has to be Despised Icon. BoS brought the heat with this and can see them taking the #1 spot in Deathcore if they continue in this direction banger of a song, Great reaction fam!
Brand of Sacrifice themselves are certainly one of my favorite Canadian bands. There's also Devin Townsend (including his former band Strapping Young Lad), Front Line Assembly, Threat Signal, Spiritbox, & Archspire. Theres probably more i cant think of at the moment
My favourite Canadian band? It's either Archspire or Brand of Sacrifice, but First Fragment are extremely talented as well. Necroticgorebeast is my fav Canadian Slam band.
Great review, I think the best of their work is yet to come. And of course it has to be Brand of Sacrifice, Spiritbox is good and all, but BOS is top teir.
Love me some Kyle/BoS/TA/etc., but they aren't reinventing anything. Deathcore with cleans has been around a minute. 2007-ish (or '06-ish?) with In Dying Arms off the top of my head. It's really become more mainstream to do recently with FFAA, EE/Mire Lore, and bands like that.
@@Benobot99 the Motifs are different true but the start stop, tempo change, "breeee", chug chug, break down + similar synth melodies kinda got old for me. Listened to them for a long time tho
I loved the heavy parts and definitely loved the breakdown, but I just don't enjoy the cleans in the chorus very much. Insane guttural stuff by Kyle though.
I'm a huge fan but not this song to be honest. I don't like the clean vocals. Call me old school but it just doesn't belong in Death Core. Not sure why people are getting into the clean singing from these bands. Oh BTW, not sure what the hell you mean by "normalizing" Death Core?! It's not supposed to be "normal"! It's supposed to make you uncomfortable and not for the average listener.
It's not "supposed" to be anything in particular. Genres evolve, man. I like cleans in deathcore (Fit For An Autopsy does it the best, in my opinion), but I will say that I didn't dig it in this song. Too metalcore-ish sounding, for me.

So talented. Top tier deathcore boys!
Amazing guys. Love that we got cleans from Kyle. Is "Earthshatter" still a thing? "1135" is one of my favourite ep's ever. And i would love more
Fit for an Autopsy is a perfect example of how utilised clean vocals in deathcore too
Good utilization, poor execution. Joe can come off as monotone to my ears and it is off putting.
